Rita and I were in the dressing room getting ready for the after party. We decided to go with short cocktail dresses, both in champagne gold but different styles.
"I can't believe what just happened! Kyle has to be the sweetest guy like ever!" Rita gushed.
"I know right?" I smiled, as I thought about the evening's events.
"I really thought he was going to propose! Didn't you?" She frowned.
"What? Nooo!" I exclaimed. "I'm just glad we're back together,' I said as I struggled with my zip.
There was a knock on the door and Rita slipped on her shoes and went to answer it.
"Hey RiRi, can I talk to Maya for just a second?" Kyle scratched the back of his head.
"Sure thing hotstuff. Take all the time that you need, I was on my way out anyway," Rita said as she winked at me and walked out.
"Hey sexy" Kyle said as he gathered me in his arms.
"Right back atcha,," I smiled as I looked up at him.
"Did I tell you how much I missed you?" He smiled.
"I can't remember..Please refresh my memory?" I said seductively.
"Oooh I can do a whole lot more than that," he dipped his head and kissed my collar bone, sending shivers down my spine.
"Kyle, stop.. Don't start something that you can't finish,"I protested weakly.
"I just might prove you wrong," he whispered against my skin.
"As much as I would like you to follow through on your weak threat..we cant," I pushed him away with great effort.
I turned to the mirror and tried to zip up my dress and struggled once again.
"Let me help you with that," Kyle stepped behind me and pulled up the zip in one motion. He put his arms around my waist and stared at our reflections in the mirror.
"I have a confession," he said, looking uncomfortable.
"What is it?" I was nervous.
"Maybe we should sit for this one," he pulled me down onto his lap as we sat on the couch.
"Kyle..should I be worried?" I held his face between my hands and looked into his eyes.
"I-I'm not sure," he removed my hands and held onto them. "I'm not sure how to tell you this-so I'm just going to come out and say it," he stared at out hands.
"Tell me please, I'm going crazy here!" I cried out.
"Maya-I'm a virgin," he said under his breath.
What? Did I just hear correctly? He's uncharted territory? Oh my days!
"How is that even possible?" I blurted out before I could stop myself, "Sorry, I didn't mean to say that," I bit my bottom lip.
"It simply means that I have never done the deed. Never consummated, never had sex-" he ranted.
"I know-I get it." I ran my fingers through my hair.
"How do you feel about that? Are you disappointed?" He furrowed his brows and looked anxious.
"No-no baby," I scratched around for words to explain how I felt at this very moment but I couldn't find any.
"Sure?" He raised an eyebrow.
"I'm just surprised. That's all," I mumbled. Well this was a shocker.
"I should have told you sooner but I was afraid that you would look at me differently-and that you wouldn't want to see me anymore," his face dropped.
"Why would you even think that?" I asked, dismayed.
"Well, because you got so mad every time I couldn't go all the way" he pouted his perfect kissable lips.
"No, you got it all wrong," I shook my head, "I got mad because you-would-get me all worked up-and then you would push me away with no explanation. I felt rejected-and very frustrated!" I fumed.
Kyle threw back his head and laughed. I didn't find it amusing. Not one bit.
"Babe, you killed me!" He chuckled.
"But if it's any consolation, I was equally "frustrated" babe. I had to take a couple of cold showers at random hours of the night," he blushed.
"Really? I'm sorry. I heard that "condition" is rather unpleasant?" I laughed softly.
"Babe-you have no idea," Kyle shook his head his eyes wide. "I really wanted to go all the way-so many times but I just didn't want to disappoint you."
"You should have said something sooner, then we could have reached some sort of "compromise", " I winked and trailed my finger down bare his chest. "Besides nowadays google is your friend, there's nothing you can't find there." I laughed.
"You're crazy you know that?" Kyle laughed.
"Or maybe I can give you a crash course," I wiggled my eyebrows.
"I'm all ears," he said, his voice husky. He gripped my waist tightly and kissed me long and hard.
Then there was another knock at the door. Perfect timing.
"Come in!" We called out simultaneously.
"I'm sorry to interrupt the steamy re-union but I've brought your tux cos you need to get ready pronto," James said in one breath, as he handed the suit over to Kyle.
"I'll be done in a minute," Kyle replied.
"No distractions," James pointed at me as he backed out the door.
I slid off Kyle's legs and straightened out my dress. I sat by the mirror and freshened up my make and my hair, while Kyle was busy stripping behind me.
"You like what you see?" He teased as he stripped down to his boxers.
"If you don't get dressed now-I will be forced to rip off of this dress and then I might have to de-flower you sooner than expected. Got it?" I smirked at his reflection.
"Yes, Ma'am," he saluted and we laughed.
I stood in front of him and brushed fluff of his jacket. He put his arms around me and I put my hands on his chest.
"So..you want to de-flower me huh?"he asked, his voice dripping with honey.
"I promise to be gentle," we laughed, "Besides-I think I've earned it, don't you think?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Just tell me when and where?" he gave me his sexiest smile, showing off his dimples.
We were interrupted by another knock. Perfect timing as always.
"If you two don't get out of here now, then I will personally drag you out!" A frustrated Rita said through gritted teeth. "Move!" She pushed us out of the room.
"Okay, okay," I protested and we laughed as we walked down the corridor.
"You just missed Justin Bieber's performance-it was crazzy!" Rita gushed.
"Sorry RiRi I only have eyes for one superstar," I looped my arm with Kyle's.
"And I only have eyes for you babe," he swooned.
"Urgh..mushy overload," Rita groaned as she rolled her eyes and looped her arm through Kyle's other arm.
When we walked into the room Post Malone was performing Congratulations and James rushed forward and dragged us to the dance floor. Calvin Harris was up next, then Coldplay and then Ciara. Rita and I grabbed almost everyone's attention as we did the Level Up routine blow by blow. Tiesto and Martin Garrix graced the stage again and so many other awesome artists. Calcum Scott and Leona Lewis closed off the night with their smash hit You Are The Reason. James and Rita were dancing next to us and Michael and his wife as well.
"Did you have anything to do with this particular performance?" I asked as Kyle and I slow-danced.
"I might have pulled a few strings," He smiled, "Now, be quiet and let me sing the rest of the song to you. Lay your head on my chest," he commanded.
I complied and let his soothing voice caress my ears. I could totally get used to this. Being engaged to a musician had it's perks. I smiled into his chest and got lost in the moment and wished that time could stand still.
