58 The Hot Sea

"So we're all set for your new album release tonight." Michael walked into the studio during my rehearsal.

We moved back to New York four months ago and Maya and I went straight back to work.

"Let me guess?" I've really outdone myself this time?" I held my hand and he laughed.

"You never cease to amaze me Kyle. You just keep getting better and better with time." He patted my back.

"We aim to please." I smiled.

"That line should be saved for Maya-exclusively." He cleared his throat.

"Oh believe she's heard it often enough." I winked.

"I created a monster." Michael rolled his eyes.

"I need to go home to my wife and my kids before she starts blowing up my phone." I said.

"Remember you have an interview on Tonight We Live tomorrow. It will be good publicity for us." Michael said as he walked me out.

"Sure. My lovely wife and I will be there."

"How did you convince her to do the interview?" Micheal asked.

"I have my ways." I scratched the back of my head.

"Spare me the details please." Michael raised his hands.

"Well you asked.."I laughed.

"Have a good night then. Will see you tomorrow."

"Good night Mike."

Paul was already standing by the car and held the door open as we approached. A sleek black Chrysler pulled up just behind my car and Jean-Pierre Durand stepped out.

"What are you doing here?" I demanded.

"Well good evening to you too." He smirked as he walked towards me.

"Aren't you supposed to be in jail?" I eyed him suspiciously.

"Everyone has a price Kyle." He stared down at me.

"Let's cut to the chase shall we? You already took the liberty of taking your daughter back with so much as a thank you-so what do you want?" I stared back.

"She is my daughter, I don't need your permission to take her back." He stated.

"I don't have time for your drama." I jumped into the car. "Paul let's go."

JP leaned on the window, "Thank you for taking care of Maddie-and my twins."

"You want to go there? Don't ever make the mistake of underestimating me again Jean-Pierre.If I got rid of your goons in I can easily do the same with you."

"Wait are you saying that..?" His face went pale.

"Maya is everything to me. So whoever messes with her messes with me."

"You-You're bluffing." He stammered.

"Yeah? Your goons in jail,that loser Steve and Rita's boyfriend, the ones in Switzerland- and whoever else you try to send again will end up with the same fate. So it would be in your best interest if you stayed away from me and my family. I have a very ugly side and trust me-you don't want it to come out and play." I shot him a dangerous dagger. "Let's go Paul."

"You're ready babe?" I held her hand and kissed her.

"You know I hate interviews but with you by my side I know I will be okay." She smiled.

"Guys you're on." Michael said as he led us to the front.

"Welcometo The Hot Seat I am your host Martin Hugo. Tonight we have very special guests-that have been on the show before-before cupid's arrow struck. Ladies love him and guys love her. The chemistry between these two is enough to power the whole of America. They are America's sexy power couple-please give it up for Kyle and Amaya Kinley!"

We walked onto the stage hand in hand, amid whistles and screams from the audience. We sat on the couch opposite Martin. The audience was still going crazy.

"Welcome-again. Lovely to have you on the show again. I'm sure you heard that last time you were both on this set but missed each other but a reliable source told us that you bumped to each otherin Capetown, South Africa? How did that come about?"

"He followed me." Maya giggled.

"Babe you know that's not true." I laughed. "I was there on holiday and she followed me."

"Is it true that you kissed the first day you met?"

"Yes." We said in unison.

"Wow-the connection was that strong was it?"

"Babe you take this one."

"I felt drawn to Kyle from the first time I met him-it's difficult to explain but I felt a strong connection to him-he made the first move though."

"So you didn't mind?"

"She didn't. She kissed me right back." I squeezed her knee and she blushed.

"Do you mind telling us about the time you were kidnapped Maya?"

"Some psycho locked me up and left me to die-I didn't think I was going to see the light of day again. But my knight in shining Armour found me just in time." She leaned her head on my shoulder and smiled. I kissed her forehead and put my hand on her cheek.

"Aren't they the mushiest?" Martin grinned and gestured towards us.

The audience ahhed and awwed.

"Kyle do you mind telling us how you felt when Maya went missing?"

"I don't really like to talk about this with anyone-including my wife-but I almost lost my mind-I couldn't eat. I couldn't sleep. I was a total mess." I raked my hand through my hair.

"Is that when you discovered you were in love with her?"

"I've always known. For me it was a classic case of love at first sight. She was my destiny." I kissed Maya's hand and placed it on my chest.

"The first day we met he told me that I was going to be his wife and I-I believed him." She laughed as she looked into my eyes.

"My wife is incredible-what you see is what you get. She has a bit of a temper though."

"Does she like throw tantrums and act like a diva?"

"Occasionally...but nothing I cant handle."

"So I hear you have twins now? What's it like to be parents?"

"It's total bliss. It's love in its purest form." I gushed.

"How do you juggle your careers and family and so on?"

"Babe?"

"We have managed to set boundaries. We take time off from work and always make time for each other-no matter how busy we get."

"Tell us about the new album and the movie you're currently filming? By the way ladies and gents stay tuned because Kyle will be performing a single from his latest offering for the first time-right here on THS."

Audience clapped and cheered.

"My album will be out tonight. It's different from what I've done before. I've worked with top artists and producers from South Africa and I hope the fans will love it. The movie I've been working on was a challenging role but I was up for it."

"Maya please tell us more about your underwater boutique in the Maldives?"

"Kyle and I went to the Maldives for our second honeymoon and we spent three magical nights in a undersea villa. So I got inspired."

"Maya is such a workaholic. Her mind is always working. Sometimes I wonder if she even thinks about me." I pouted.

"Really husband?" She laughed.

"So what happens when Kyle is on tour?"

"She usually comes through for a week or two because she can't stay away from me for long." I laughed as she smacked me on the shoulder.

"How do you keep the romance alive? We're dying to know? I mean you guys can't keep your hands off each other..even now. Look at you!"

"If we divulge that then we might not be able to keep it PG ." I winked and Maya blushed.

"Do tell..please?" Martin sat at the edge of his seat.
