Chapter 283 - Show No Mercy to any Troublemakers.

"Are you sure this is where you last felt that energy?" An older man was oozing out his dangerous vibe as he shot the younger man behind him a look.

The younger man bowed his head lower before giving an affirmative grunt, "I was passing through this land with my other junior brothers when we sensed it. You can ask Brother Xie if he could confirm my words."

The old man only nodded in satisfaction, not intending to return and go through all the trouble of going back just to ask Lu Yan's Sect Brother Xie if he was telling the truth.

Standing atop the hill, the old man looked over the vast land of Zheng Empire and frowned. With his excellent eyesight, he could see the people inside the gate walking to and fro with a friendly smile as they tried to interact with the other people beside them. With such a peaceful scene, the old man wickedly smirked as he thought of how he could make all those peacefulness into terror and fear.

Seeing his master smiling sinisterly, the younger man also looked forward.

He and his junior brothers were flying across the sky with the clouds under their feet when some dark energy started to seep out of nowhere. At first, Lu Yan wasn't sure of it but seeing that Brother Xie also sensed and didn't speak for a while, Lu Yan became sure of it. They soon located where it was coming from, but when they arrived there, it disappeared, and they were unable to pinpoint where exactly it was coming from.

That dark aura… Who and what could produce such sickening and pure dark energy?

Lu Yan turned to his master and asked casually, "Master, do you have any idea who owned that energy we felt that night?"

The old man was silent for a moment before shaking his head as he said, "I have no idea." 

Still looking at the picturesque scenery before him, the old man continued to say, "However, I only know that if what you said about that energy being too powerful really turned out to be true, we have to make haste and tie that person to our side or else others will surely come and steal 'it' from us."

Suddenly, the handsome sleeping man beside her abruptly opened his eyes; a dangerous glint was flashing in it. Because Lin Xiaofei was already deep in her sleep, she didn't see that Qu Xing Xu's eyes turned red golden for a second before turning black as if the change was never there.

The dangerous glint in it also disappeared as his gaze fell on the deeply asleep figure of Lin Xiaofei. A warm and gentle look replaced as he reaches out his hand and c.a.r.e.s.ses her cheeks and eyes, wiping the unshed tears in her eyes and sweat on her cheeks.
