Chapter 138 - His Bride's Request

Lin Xiaofei stared at him.

She didn't know how long she was doing that as their bodies were drawn closely together. His hand that was on her waist fell on the lower of her back. She could feel it warming her even through the layers of robes that she wore.

"If you're doing this because there are other people around us. Don't." She told him. Trying to push him away once more but as if his feet grew roots and was glued on the ground, Qu Xing Xu remained unmovable.

His other hand that he used to touch her lips grabbed her wrist, albeit not too tight and painful. He held her wrist to stop her.

"I advise against doing that." He said, making her look up at him.

"And why is tha--" And even before she could finish her sentence, Lin Xiaofei felt something damp in her hand and frowned.

She looked down at it and saw red painting her palm.

With wide eyes, Lin Xiaofei looked at him, and in a soft gasp, she said, "You're hurt."

Qu Xing Xu nodded his head. Still, a smile was tugging on his lips as he continued to look at her.

"You're hurt." She repeated as if she couldn't believe that Qu Xing Xu would ever get wounded by someone.

"Yes, I am." Qu Xing Xu almost laughed at how her tone of disbelief and in awe.

But how could she not? Qu Xing Xu's reputation in and out of the war was already spread across the Four Kingdoms. He was a valiant man with a strength to match it and cruelty that made men tuck under their beds to hide.

Just imagining that kind of a man sustaining an injury was quite a surprise to her. Lin Xiaofei suddenly remembered that Qu Xing Xu left to take care of some matter and she doubted that these 'matters' were as simple as he voiced it out.

"How did you get injured?" After a few seconds of silence and them staring at each other, Lin Xiaofei finally opened her mouth to speak.

"There was an ambush and I was caught off guard." Qu Xing Xu said. "It's just a superficial wound. You don't have to worry about it."

Lin Xiaofei raised her eyebrows, "I'm not worried." Not waiting for him to say something to prove that she was indeed worried about him, she continued. "But I can't let you die. After all, you have no use to me if you're dead."

Under her palm, she could feel his chest rumbling as she heard a deep chuckle above her head.

"Then will you help me take care of my wound?" Qu Xing Xu asked. A smile was still dancing on his lips.

"Don't you have servants to do that?" She replied to him.

"I do have servants but I don't want someone else to know about me being injured."

Lin Xiaofei was about to say that it was too late since there were people in her room that could hear them and when she looked behind him, she saw that her room was empty. None of her maids stayed and she didn't even notice it.Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click /book/the-birth-of-a-villainess_16977433905988805/his-bride's-request_48561107694055980 for visiting.

"What about Gu Yan? He should be around to take care of you."

Qu Xing Xu shrugged, "I sent him to do something else for me." He rubbed his thumb against her wrist and said, "And by the way, why should I let someone else take care of me when I have my wife to do that for me?"

"I'm not your wife." Lin Xiaofei gritted out.

Raising his hand to touch her cheeks, Qu Xing Xu smiled down at her. "But you're my fiancee and soon we will be married."

Lin Xiaofei had nothing to say to that.

Qu Xing Xu pulled her back inside the room. He sat on the bed and before Lin Xiaofei could protest, Qu Xing Xu was already starting to take off his robe.

Lin Xiaofei felt her stomach falling when she caught sight of him, shamelessly undressing without even a warning.

"What are you doing?" She managed to say in a hiss.

"I'm taking off my clothes." He said it so casually as if he was talking about something irrelevant.

"I can see that! Thank you very much!" She rolled her eyes. "But why are you taking off your clothes? And inside my room?"

"Do you prefer it to be inside my room then?" Qu Xing Xu smirked when he saw her mouth clamping shut and her eyes glaring daggers at him.

"Yes!" She quickly said with a hiss.

"I will comply with my bride's request." Qu Xing Xu stopped his hands on the buttons of his robe and stood up.

Lin Xiaofei sighed in relief. She cannot allow him to strip inside her room lest her maids or someone comes in and the embarrassment that would follow might kill her.

Even though she wasn't some budding lady that was wet behind her ears. Lin Xiaofei still had some shame in her bones to not be around some n.a.k.e.d man who no one knows what kind of evil things he might do and serve her some excuses just to mess with her.

Besides, her relationship with Qu Xing Xu was only based on their contract. A fake engagement and a relationship based on their interests and goals.

And another thing… Lin Xiaofei was afraid to find out the reason why her heart kept on jumping inside her chest when she's around Qu Xing Xu.

Just after she sighed, Lin Xiaofei saw him walking towards her and before she could react fast enough to evade him, she was forced to turn around with his hands on her shoulders.

Qu Xing Xu didn't wait for her to ask what he was trying to do as he made her walk towards the wall where a painting of a river was hanging and then, he slightly pushed it to the side.

Soon, a soft noise was heard and the wall parted.

Lin Xiaofei: "…..."

Once the wall was done moving and making a space enough for a door to be built there and enough for two people to pass, Lin Xiaofei saw a room just like hers but had a darker theme and was oozing out a masculine ambiance.

No one needs to tell her whose room was this. The person who owned it was after all the same person who was holding her shoulders and pushing her towards that room.

"As your heart's desires. Let us explore my room."

There will be a festival going on in my city and all Signals and Internet will be cut off from Sept. 25-30. At that time, I won't be able to update or reply to any of your messages.

After the festival, I hope that everything will go back so I can update.

It's such a bummer not being able to use the internet at all while my city's still implementing total lockdown. I don't even understand my city's government anymore.
