Chapter 181 - WANTED TO BE A HUSBAND

Name:The Blue Eyes Author:26stars
Kris and Jack arrived at Chilad in the afternoon. The sun bent toward the west, and the car's shadow followed where the sun was located.

The silver car headed to the buried valley based on the coordinate given by Blue. The girl was the one who had analyzed the district, and she was the one who knew so well about the buried valley's location.

The two men didn't talk much after Jack asked the other man about Kevin's condition.

Kris just simply answered with "I hope he's alright," and none of them talked about the scientist again.

They didn't completely shut their mouths until they arrived at Chilad, though. They were chatting, but they didn't talk about sensitive subjects. They mostly just talked nonsense when they were on the way to the district.

The driver of the car, Kris, stopped the car near the coordinate given by blue.. The coordinate was the exact location of the buried valley, and both of them had to be cautious and chose not to stop the car right at the spot.

"I don't see anything special here," Jack commented as his hands swiftly unbuckled the seatbelt.

Kris's right hand turned off the car engine before he unfastened his seat belt.

"Let's get out first. We will have a better view from outside the car."

Jack nodded and was about to open the car door, but Kris's voice stopped his movement.

"We have to be careful, alright? This place seems deserted, but we can't be so sure that this place is safe."

Once again, Jack bobbed his head as a response to Kris's words. After agreeing, the two of them finally got out of the car.

The car doors were closed once again, and they carefully headed to the buried valley. However, Kris motioned the other man not to get too close to the mysterious valley.

The two men stopped behind a big tree to hide their tall figures behind the big trunk of the tree.

Their sharp eyes observed the buried valley area. The valley was buried entirely, so it was no longer a valley now. It was just like a normal plain, and if Blue didn't give them the coordinate of the valley, they surely wouldn't be able to find the valley.

"It's not a valley," Jack stated as his eyes continued inspecting the area.

Kris lifted his chin a little to get a broader view of the area.

"It's the buried valley," the taller man replied. "The plain ahead of us is in between two valleys that look like facing each other. We can say that the two valleys were originally a connected valley before some people buried the area."

Jack listened to Kris's answer earnestly before he looked at the surroundings of the buried valley. Kris was right. Two valleys seemed to be 'guarding' the buried valley.

"Then, what should we do now?" Jack asked the other man curiously.

Some fine lines appeared on Kris's forehead when he heard Jack's question. It seemed that he wasn't sure about what they should do now.

"Blue said that there are some wheel's trails that headed to the buried valley. Let's walk closer to the buried valley to check the trails."

Jack looked nervous, but he still nodded his head toward Kris. They had no choice other than to move closer to the buried valley now. The mission was quite nerve-wracking because they no longer had spiritual powers, but they still had to complete the mission.

They stepped closer to the buried valley area. The area was just like a normal area consisting of young sandstones, but the young sandstones were the things that made it obvious that the area was newly buried.

They halted behind a large boulder and scrutinized the situation around the area. From the distance, they could see some wheel's trails on the unburied valley to the buried valley.

Blue's analysis was right. There was indeed an activity in the buried valley.

They wanted to analyze more about the trails, but suddenly their body tensed when they spotted an unknown car approaching the area. The two men looked at each other while frowning. Both of them didn't recognize the black car.

They thought that the car would follow the wheel's trails on the valley, but they were wrong. The black car stopped not far from their hiding spot, and the two men started to feel nervous.

Their combat ability was not that great without their supernatural power, and they were worried if their opponent was much stronger than them. The problem would be bigger if the opponent was armed with sophisticated weapons. They came barehanded, so probably they would just try to run away if they were attacked by the unknown opponent.

The two men were on guard when the car door opened from the inside, and a long leg stepped out of the black car. Both eyes focused on the legs and slowly looked up at the owner of the legs when the owner fully got out of the car.

Both men frowned when they saw the figure's face.

"I think I've seen the face before," Kris whispered as he furrowed his eyebrows at the figure.

Jack, who was hiding beside Kris, couldn't tear his gaze away from the male figure.

"He's the young soldier," the tattooed man responded.

"Huh?" Kris asked confusedly as he turned to Jack. "Which young soldier?"

He could hear the tattooed man sigh, but the said man was still staring at the figure near the black car.

"Let's go to him."

Kris was stunned when he heard Jack's unexpected idea. He didn't even have time to hold Jack back because the blonde immediately came out from their hideout and walked over to the unknown man.

Kris didn't have any choice other than to follow the tattooed man's paces.

As they got closer to the unknown man, Kris was even more sure that he had seen the face before.

And it seemed that Kris was right because the man also looked surprised when he saw him and Jack. The man recognized both of them.

"Oh? What are you doing here, Sirs?" The man asked them in a whisper as his eyes kept glancing at the buried valley.

What kind of question was that? The question sounded casual as if they were old friends who didn't see each other for a long time.

"We came here first, so we should be the ones who ask the question."

Kris was a bit taken aback by Jack's response. He then peeked at his partner in crime, who looked calm and relaxed despite facing the unknown man in a dangerous situation.

"I..." The man wanted to answer the question, but he paused as he showed a confused expression.

Kris patiently waited for the man to continue, but it seemed that Jack didn't have any patience for the other man.

"You better tell us the truth and don't you dare to lie to us!"

The tan-skinned man looked puzzled when he saw the interaction between Jack and the unknown man. He couldn't remember who the man was, but he was sure that it wasn't the first time he met the man.

The same theory could be applied to Jack. Kris was confident that Jack had known the man before their encounter today.

Damn Kris and his goldfish memory! He mocked Kevin as a forgetful human for forgetting him, but he was the one who easily forgot people!

"Can you two stop the nonsense and please tell me who you are?"

Kris decided to intervene, and the two men turned their heads to him.

The stranger blinked at him before he asked, "You don't remember me, Sir?"

"Should I remember you?" Kris asked back instead of answering. "Just tell me who you are. I'm sure I've seen your face before, but I can't remember your identity."

Kris was such a blunt person. He didn't care about the other man's feelings and was like: "You're not important to me, so why should I remember you? Just tell me who you are, or I'm going to finish you off now."

He didn't even care if the man had a weapon or something. He was just tired of the absurdity.

Fortunately, the young man didn't seem to be offended by Kris's rude attitude. He was still smiling like the bright sun, and even his eyes were sparkling like the day star.

"I'm Casper Owsinski, Sir. How come you don't remember me?"

Casper Owsinski? Kris didn't think he had ever heard the name before. Damn his short-term memory!

"You don't remember me, Sir? I was the one who escorted you and Mr. Beischel home after the war ended. At that time, you told Mr. Beischel that you wanted to be his husband, and our car almost hit a tree because of that. Do you remember me now, Sir?"

Shit! Kris was able to remember this little bastard now! He was the clumsy soldier who almost got them into a car accident after the war ended!

What was wrong with it if he wanted to be a husband?
