Chapter 276 - THE FAILED ANTIDOTE

"It was a disaster," Kevin muttered bitterly as he stopped his car at the buried valley area.

It was not only him that looked surprised, but both Blue and Grace were shocked as well.

Kevin had never visited the buried valley before today, but he was sure that the area was not like this before today.

There, around fifty meters ahead of the silver car, the army of Calenta fought with the werewolves army of the rebels. Ahead of them was a barrier of tanks used by the human army, and they kept attacking the werewolves' army that also attacked them with their fire powers.

Grace looked shocked when she managed to catch a glimpse of the giant werewolf monsters. "Why... why are they so huge? They are different from the previous generation of werewolf monsters, aren't they?" She asked the question without looking at Kevin. It was the first time she saw the giant werewolves, and she was so alarmed.

Kevin was stunned as well, but he immediately connected the dots in his mind, 'The villains were working with my father, so of course, they could get the formula from my father to create the giant werewolves.'

The raven-haired scientist saw the possibility, but he remained quiet behind the steering wheel as he stared at the battle ahead of him. The human army was not the only one that used tanks as weapons, but the opponent used some tanks as well. And not only that, but the tanks and the weapons used by the opponent seemed to be stronger.

Another thing that surprised him was the presence of a human army among the werewolf monsters. However, just from their attires only, he could see that the human army was not from Calenta.

"They are from Primea," Grace spoke as if she could read Kevin's mind. "I think that bastard is working with the people from Primea."

Kevin glanced at the short-haired lady and found that the lady was gritting her teeth to suppress her anger.

"Is it related to dispute between the two countries?" Kevin questioned the lady. "And that's why there's no guard in Rodein when we visited the district? No guards mean the people from Primea could easily smuggle weapons to this country, right?"

Kevin tried to gather the crumbs again, and when he was able to find a relation, he couldn't help but feel angry.

"That person must be the one who did it. He's the one responsible for the country border in Rodein, and he took advantage of that," Grace spoke again.

"And it seems that those people have been working with Primea since the 2021 werewolf war, right?" Blue suddenly chimed in as she was able to find the connection too.

Kevin sighed heavily before unbuckling his seatbelt. "This car is bulletproof and fireproof, so this car will be safe for you two to hide. Wait for me here and don't do anything reckless," he suddenly instructed the two women in the car.

"What?" Blue couldn't accept her brother's decision and immediately rebuked him. "You decided to bring me here to fight, right, Brother? For the past weeks, I felt something was not right with my body, and it's because I still have the powers within my body, right?"

Blue was not stupid, and if the dumb and slow Jack managed to find out about that, then Blue would be able to do the same.

"That's right, Blue," Kevin finally confirmed the girl's suspicion. "A few years ago, I managed to create a formula, and I thought it could be the antidote for werewolves. But, when I tried to use it on the specimen, it turned out the formula could only change the DNA structure temporarily, and the werewolf DNA would come back again eventually. Instead of injecting you, Kris, and Jack using the real antidote, I used the failed antidote for you all."

Hearing Kevin's confession, Grace Hasler instantly snorted at him. "You are such a liar. You have an intention for that, right?" She asked the man in a mocking tone.

"I do," Kevin answered. "I still want to protect mankind with my powers, and that's why I deliberately planned all of that."

"But you didn't even let us know about that, Brother," Blue butted in again. "I wonder whether you let my uncle know about it or not."

Kevin smiled bitterly as he said, "He surely will scold me after this."

"Let's go fight those betrayers," Grace suddenly spoke again, and it stunned Kevin until he widened his eyes in surprise.

"What do you mean? You don't even know how to fight, so you'd better stay here with Blue."

"No, Brother! I want to fight with you too!"

"Who said that I don't know how to fight? I'm the daughter of the great General Ford, and I'm a black belt holder, you know?"

Kevin was speechless when he heard Blue and Grace's refusal. The two women were stubborn, and even if he asked them to stay in the car, they weren't kids who could be locked in the car.

In the end, Kevin just let them be. He nodded his head before getting out of the car. As he stepped outside the car, the voice of the gunshot and fire shot was more apparent, and his heart dropped when he saw how several human armies got hurt and died in the battle.

Holding back the painful feeling in his heart, his blue eyes suddenly glimmered lightly, and his body transformed into a white werewolf monster. After a few months, he once again transformed into that form, and he was quite excited right now.

Blue's blue eyes glimmered brightly too, but she couldn't transform into a werewolf just like Kevin. However, she was still amazed by her brother's werewolf appearance because it was the first time for her to see her brother in that form.

"Y-you still have your powers too, Brother? How come you still have the powers after the antidote extraction?" Blue looked shocked when he saw her brother's transformation. "And you look strong, but I think those monsters looked stronger.. I wonder if Jack and the others can handle them or not."
