Chapter 129 - FANCY CLOTHES

"Why should I do that?"

There were only two people in the room. One of them just finished speaking, and the other replied immediately.

Kevin, who just responded to his lover's words, swiftly walked toward his lover, who was sitting on the bed.

It was already 9 at night, and they were currently at a hotel in Rodein. Kevin just finished showering, but when he just opened the bathroom door and walked toward the bed, his lover suddenly voiced his idea.

"Why should I wear fancy clothes?" Kevin asked again as he sat down beside his lover. "You didn't tell me beforehand to bring fancy clothes, so I only brought my old sweater with me," he continued while his hand was busy drying his hair with a towel.

Kris initiatively took over the towel and did his lover a favor. He lovingly dried his lover's hair. He had showered before Kevin, and now he was ready to continue their investigation.

"I forgot to tell you," Kris replied while his hands still working on his lover's head. "We will go to a fancy place tonight, so I think it will be better if we dress in fancy clothes."

Hearing Kris's explanation, Kevin frowned and asked, "Do I look bad without fancy clothes?"

The movement on Kevin's head halted. Kris shifted his gaze from the black hair to the owner of the hair. "Who says that you look bad without fancy clothes?" He asked back instead of answering. "You'll always look good. Even if you don't wear anything, you will still look good."

Kevin's almond eyes widened. His face flushed when he caught an evil smirk on his lover's handsome face. He didn't know whether his lover was teasing him or seducing him.

"Are you sure I will still look good even if I don't wear anything?" The young scientist asked again, and the taller man nodded enthusiastically. "Then, I will not wear anything tonight." His hands were already on the hem of his white t-shirt and were about to take his t-shirt off.

Kris was quick enough to hold his hands. "Are you crazy?" He snapped in panic. "How can you go outside without wearing anything?"

Now, it was Kevin's turn to smirk. "You are the one who said that I would still look good even if I didn't wear anything," he replied sneakily.

Kris groaned in frustration. He was the first who teased his lover, but his lover's counterattack was stronger than his initial attack.

"Let's just stop here, alright?" He decided to not prolong the matter. "I'll help you style your hair now. Come here," he added as he grabbed a tube of hair wax from the bed.

Kevin glanced at the tube and looked up at Kris again. Kris's hair was styled up tonight, and he just noticed the difference. It looked like Kris just finished styling it with the hair wax when he walked out of the bathroom just now.

Kris looked good in that style. Yeah, Kris was always good-looking, but he was extra good-looking tonight with his hair up. Normally Kris didn't really pay attention to his hair, but his mission tonight motivated him to change for a bit.

"I'll just comb my hair and will be ready to go," Kevin replied as his hand pushed the hair wax in his lover's hand.

Kris frowned at the response. "But why? You'll look more handsome with the hair wax, Kev."

Kevin didn't immediately reply. He walked over to the couch and sat there, then grabbed his backpack before taking out a comb from it.

"That gel will only make my head feels stiff," the scientist finally replied as he combed his hair with the comb.

Kris chuckled when he saw his lover's adorable behavior. He got up from the bed and grabbed his brown leather jacket. After that, he took a luxury watch from his backpack and clasped it on his wrist. As if that was not enough, he began to put on his expensive boots.

Kevin's eyes widened at the sight. "You remembered to bring fancy clothes for yourself but forgot to tell me about that?" He asked in disbelief.

Now Kris's expression looked guilty. "Sorry, Kev," he timidly replied.

Kevin just rolled his eyes and quickly got up from his seat. He angrily took out his old grey sweater from the backpack and put it on. He also began to put on his worn sneakers. He looked like a grandpa now.

"Let's go, Master. This humble servant will serve you tonight."

Kris couldn't help but laugh out loud. His lover was hilarious. He walked over to the shorter man and hugged his waist. He then kissed his lover's cheek fondly. "You're my master, and I'm your servant," he whispered.

Kevin just rolled his eyes as they walked together to leave the hotel.

Kris didn't tell him their destination, so he could only wait until the red car stopped at one place. The night in Rodein was lively and glamorous. Kevin remembered another nickname for this district; 'Rodein, the sleepless district."

Ten minutes passed, and the car finally stopped. Kevin looked out from the windows and he frowned. "You take me to a bar?" He asked when his eyes caught a neon sign on the building.

"Yes," Kris answered as he unfastened his seatbelt. "I heard from the hotel clerk that this is the most popular bar in the district. We can start our inquiry here."

Kevin started unfastening his seatbelt while his eyes keep glancing at the neon sign. "This bar's name is 'Wild Wolf,' huh?" He asked.

Kris glanced at the sign and shrugged. "Perhaps the owner is one of my fans," he replied.

Kevin rolled his eyes and opened the car door. Kris giggled and quickly caught up with his lover. A guard did a safety check on them in the entrance, then he let them in without any hassle.

Loud music welcomed them when they were already inside. Kevin reflectively closed his ears with his hands, and Kris caught that movement. He chuckled seeing his lover's innocent expression.

Many women turned their heads when they saw the two newcomers, especially Kris. They peered at him with their hungry eyes. Some of them even winked at him.

"Now I know why you insisted on wearing fancy clothes, Kris," Kevin said sarcastically.

Kris glanced at him and smiled. "My eyes are blind for other people, Kev. They can only see you."

Kevin couldn't help but blush. His lover was really a sweet talker!

They then moved closer to the bartender and sat on the high stool. The bartender immediately welcomed them.

"What should I make for you tonight, gentlemen?" The bartender asked.

He was still young, maybe the same age as them. He dyed his hair red, and he had a dragon tattoo on his neck.

"Vodka for me and soda for him," Kris answered as he motioned to Kevin.

The bartender nodded and prepared the order.

"Why did you order soda for me?" Kevin asked in a slightly annoyed tone.

Kris peered at him lazily. "Do you still need to ask me about that?" He asked.

Kevin just pouted and didn't say anything again.

The bartender came back to them with their orders. "Enjoy your drink, gentlemen. You guys are lucky to meet the best bartender in Rodein," he said braggingly.

"You are the best bartender here? Are you a native?" Kris asked as he sipped his vodka.

"Yes, I'm a native," the bartender answered. "I was born in this district and growing up here. I know everything about this district."

Kris and Kevin silently glanced at each other. It seemed like they had found the right person.

"It's our first time in this district," Kevin chimed in. "We heard that Rodein is famous for its crime, but we haven't met with anything unpleasant so far."

Kevin was right. They were in the district for hours, but they didn't see any crimes there. They expected to meet with some crimes like robbery, assault, illegal gambling, or drug use, but they hadn't met any so far.

The bartender sat down on his tall stool and answered, "You're lucky to come here on a peaceful day like today, pretty boy." He winked at Kevin seductively.

Kris threw a death glare at the bartender. "Why did this district suddenly become peaceful?" He asked.

The bartender turned to Kris and noticed the death glare. He smirked before replying, "Why did you ask me that? Are you a police?"

Kris groaned angrily after hearing the answer.

Kevin noticed the change, and he quickly butted in, "We're just travelers from another district. We just want to know about this district."

The bartender once again turned to Kevin and smiled sweetly. "If you're not a police, then you can't interrogate me," He said casually. "Let me see your ID cards first, and then I'll tell you some good stories about this district."

"Are you a police?" Kris suddenly butted in.

That question made the bartender turn to him again and answered, "No."

"If you're not a police, then you can't check on our ID cards."

Oh! That was Kris's counterattack!

The bartender laughed out loud hearing Kris's counter. He even made a gesture as if he was wiping his tears. "You're interesting," he commented. "Alright, I'll tell you some interesting stories about... werewolves."
