It's the weekend! Victoria thought that the work has been getting pressure each day. But because of her husband who was always supportive and always prepared famishing foods for her. Including her snacks and she didn't have to eat in the cafeteria. This time, she's packing sexy bikinis and dresses. Although the dresses are old, she could wear them again. Then, she had a few of her savings to buy clothes for her husband. Some beach shorts, briefs, swimming trunks, shorts, and flip-flops.
"You ready?" Kenzo asked as he hugged her from behind. "So, how much should we spend on this?"
"Don't worry about it. This resort was one of my investments." She whispered.
"What?" Kenzo was surprised. She turned to him.
"Kenz, I am broke too. I just don't have the family's money. So, back then, I took out a little money and invested it in this resort. But this resort wasn't well known. It's isolated. Caleb and Stacey helped me with it. We are slowly building this up. Only a few have reservations for this resort. So, we somehow have some money for it. But we saved it for upgrades."
"It's not paying well?"
"Yes, we only have three crews. The caretakers."
"Hmm," Kenzo thought. "Then, since it's a long weekend, we should brainstorm for the tactics?"
"You are thinking about business lately." She patted him.
"Babe, can you bring your laptop?"
"Sure. But I have a spare one that I don't use. You can use it."
"Okay."
"It's on the second drawer."
He went inside the walk-in closet. Then, he pulled the second drawer that contained gadgets and other important stuff for her. He took out the laptop that still looked good. It's not the very expensive one, but a cheap brand. He took the charger and stood. He stopped on the open cabinet. He approached to close it but he found some open bankbooks. He checked it and it seemed like she withdrew a little money. Maybe for the expenses of the house. He glanced at her who was busy packing their clothes.
"Love," He called.
"Yes? Did you find it?"
"This one cabinet is open."
She stopped and walked toward him. He gave the bankbook to her and she smiled tightly and put it back in and locked it.
"Hey, why are you withdrawing a lot of money?" he asked. "Is this for tonight?"
"No." She shook his head. "It's for an emergency."
"What's going on?" He asked again. She exhaled.
"Okay, I pay for the credit cards. I just received the bills and I guess that father wanted me to pay for them. So, I am paying for it."
"Oh," He pressed his lips. "I'll have my first salary next month. I'll pay for the bills."
"Hey, you don't have to. Let's pay together."
"How much is your balance?" he asked.
"A hundred thousand." She mumbled. "It will increase by next month if I don't pay for it."
"Okay," he nodded. "Let's not buy anything right now. Give me the bills too. I'm going to pay half of it."
"But~~"
"No buts!" He patted her hand. She nodded at him. She pulled out another drawer and showed it to him. He took it and put it in his bag. She went back to bed.
He put the laptop on the bag and then went outside of the closet and put it beside their LV bag. He went back inside to take out the trash, so the rat won't mess with it. He stopped and picked the paper on the floor. He checked it. His brows knitted at the amount of money she spent on the clothes she bought for him. He needs to calm himself. This time, his wife was spending a lot for him. She paid it in cash. Then, he checked the garbage bag and found another receipt. There, she bought a cheap bikini for herself and a beach dress and other things for him. He could curse at the moment because of irritation toward his wife by spending a lot of money on him.
He kept the two receipts and checked the plugs and turned off a few things around. He took the bag and took it to their car. She followed shortly and then, she locked the door. He put their bag in the trunk.
He checked the door again and then, he opened the car door for her.

Maverick stared at the clothes that he packed up. Those clothes aren't his. But Stacey bought it for him and she also removed the tags so he won't find out the prices. She also removed the receipts. But, the brand is still there and he knew that these costs at least for a month's meal.
He packed it up and locked the windows. He approached Stacey and took her bag with him.
"You ready?" He asked.
"Yes," He hung her bag to his arm as he scooped his cap and put it on. Then, he kept his head low as he went to the garage and put the bags in the backseat. He went back inside and checked around the locks again and the unplugged things. He waited for her to come out first and he followed her. The door was automatically locked and he opened the car door for her at the driver's seat.
"Wow, thanks." She got in and he closed the door. He walked around and sat on the shotgun seat. He put her seatbelt on. Then, she uses the remote to open the gate. Then once the car is outside, the gate closes and locks automatically.
He exhaled as he looked outside.
"So, it'll be a long drive. We'll be meeting them at the supermarket on the way." She turned on the music and he nodded at it.
"I'll text them."
He pulled out the phone that she gave and she noticed that he put her face on a lock screen. She pressed her lips as she drove out of the subdivision.
"Why did you put that ugly face on your lock screen?" She asked.
"She's adorable." He answered and he observed outside first and looked around.
"Are you looking for that car?" She asked.
"Yeah."
"They are living a few blocks from us now."
"What the fuck?" He mumbled.
"You know them?" She asked.
"No. I just assume that they are stalking you or something."
"I can handle myself." She grinned. "See that baseball bat?" He noticed the baseball bat beside her.
"Yeah, you are dangerous."
"Nah, I'm just practical. But Victoria was more dangerous even though she looked so fragile. She can be berserk anytime."
"Anyone can go berserk." He mumbled.
"Yeah, but Victoria couldn't handle her emotion well. She couldn't handle lots of stress, but she's the best person I know."
"You are strong too." He told her. She looked away and bit her lower lip to avoid grinning from his compliment. She also felt her cheeks go a little hot because of what he said.
"What can I say? You are good at compliments."
Maverick chuckled and shook his head.
"No, I'm just stating facts here, Stace."
"I think you are the first man to ever open the car door for me. Except for valets."
"Didn't your boyfriend do so?"
She shook her head.
"He always wanted to look cool. At first, I think that it's natural now to men~~by not opening car doors for ladies."
"It only means that they don't deserve you."
"So, when did you learn how to be a gentleman?" She asked as she gently turned the wheel.
"Since birth." He chuckled. "Well, my mother taught me so." His smile faded and he peered outside the window, remembered how they dragged his mother outside the house, and claimed that she's a cheater. But the truth was, his father was the cheater. He had another family outside the house and they brought them in once that he kicked out his mother. He won't ever forget that.
"She must be an amazing one."
"Yeah, she is." He smiled as he thought of his mother.
"The first time I saw you in that place in Lwazi, I was thinking about what this handsome guy was doing there. He doesn't look like a beggar but seeing your things with you, clutching it like precious makes me pity you somehow."
"You are compassionate," Maverick said. "Pitying someone doesn't mean bad at all. At least, some people have that emotion. Most people could show pity to others but not compassion. And it's entirely different words."
"I didn't claim to be either. But, well, you got a tough day and I would do the same to others."
"I would do the same to others too." He mumbled. "Don't worry. I'll repay you." He turned to her with an assuring smile.
"Repay? Like what? Giving me a villa with a magnificent view?" She teased.
"Why not?"
Her smile faded.
"You sound serious and it's scaring me." She chuckled.
"I have had it easy ever since I moved into your house. I wasn't scared to sleep outside the road or under the bridge…"
"You sleep under the bridge?" She exclaimed.
"Yes, when few people were chasing me." He suddenly bit his tongue for slipping off.
"Why would they chase you?" She creased her brows and he looked at the rear mirror to track any possible car that would follow them.
