Chapter 71 - Grandpa In Disguise

It was Caleb who put an invisible bodyguard or known as a distant bodyguard to Victoria. They are following her and she knew well that it was for her safety. The group of securities that he's hiring was retired navy or army. Some of them got injured from war or missions that they choose to be personal bodyguards. Once Caleb builds an office for Security Escort, his business will grow.

But his goal isn't income and fast growth. It's the service that he's giving. Even with the distribution of parcels that he made first were always careful and precise. Although it's far from perfect, Caleb was confident that it'll be close to perfect

"I'm off to meet someone," Caleb told his secretary. "I'm free, right?" He asked again.

"Yes sir. You have three hours."

"Thanks, Ci." He stood, took his phone wallet, and keys. Then, he used his private elevator and drove his motorbike to the cafe in the Golden Palace Hotel.

In front, a Valet is waiting for him and he gave him a tip. He went to the cafe and spotted Kenzo sipping some tea with a lady. The lady stood, bowed at him, and left. He didn't get to see the chic that Kenzo was meeting with. He approached him and patted him. He was about to bend down to kiss Kenzo like he usually does to tease them but Kenzo pushed his face away.

"Oh, come on! I missed you and Mave so much." Caleb noticed that there are also busy people in the cafe. "So, why are you always here in the Golden Palace Hotel?" He asked. "Wouldn't Victoria get a wrong idea about it? And who is the chick that you met a while ago?"

"Oh, that's the Chairwoman," Kenzo whispered.

"What the hell? The Chairwoman bowed down to you?" Caleb asked. Kenzo laughed and shook his head. "Anyway,"

A female barista came and served Caleb's usual drink and dessert.

"Wow, thank you." He charmed her with his smile.

The girl flushed and bowed her head and quickly went to the counter.

"Okay, stop charming everyone here." Kenzo kicked him under.

"So, why?" Caleb asked again.

"I was checking on the room that I reserved for me and my wife's honeymoon suite." He grinned. "And I am proposing a job to you." He pushed a black envelope to him. Caleb took it out and checked the details. "Can you do it?"

"I just know a man." He winked.

"Thanks, Cal."

"Sure, we are friends and besides, you treat me well. Like your mistress." Caleb laughed as Kenzo chuckled.

He sipped on his coffee and ate the dessert that was given to him.

Victoria was picking up things that are needed at home. She listed it and crossed out the things that they don't need.

"Towel tissue." She mumbled as she strode to the aisle of shelves.

"Beautiful Lady," She turned her head to the tall old man who was holding a crane and wearing shabby clothes and an old golf cap.

"Yes, sir?"

"It's hard for me to reach the very top. I would like to have that item on top."

Victoria looked at the twelve toilet tissues and squinted her eyes to check on the brand.

"That's a good brand." She said but she couldn't reach that top. She quickly had an idea as she pulled her cart and extended it to the old man. "May I?" She asked.

She took the crane from the old man as she gently put his hand on the cart.

"Well, I can't reach it either." She smiled and then, she used the crane to hook it up and catch it. "How much do you need, sir?"

"Just one."

The old man was watching her moves and he liked her. Even close like this. She gave back the crane to the old man and noticed that he didn't have a cart or a basket.

"Well, is there anything else you need, sir?"

"Just call me grandfather." The old man said. She put the toilet over her cart. And she extended her arm to him.

"Alright, grandpa. Is there anything else you need?"

"Yes, I need yogurt."

She's almost done with her shopping and the old man asked for a few things. She did take it and separate it so it wouldn't mix up on the packaging.

"My grandson was too busy with work today." The old man said. "You are perfect for him. I wish that you could meet him up."

Victoria chuckled.

"Grandpa, I'm married."

"Well, you can divorce your husband." The old man casually, like it is a simple statement.

"No. It's not that easy. Besides, I love my husband"

"Shame…" The old man said as Victoria went to the counter together with the old man.

"Miss, do you perhaps have a discount for this old man?" He asked the cashier as he took out his wallet and only had two bills on it.

"Don't worry grandpa. I'll pay for everything." Victoria said.

"Are you sure?" The old man acted surprised.

"Of course." She smiled as she piled up everything there and told the cashier to separate a few things and even bought an eco-bag for the old man.

Victoria even escorted him outside.

"Would you like to have some tea?" The old man asked. "I should repay you for your kindness."

"Grandpa, you don't have to pay for anything. I am happy to help."

"Okay," The old man said. "Perhaps, some other day?"

She nodded.

"I will call for a cab?"

"No, it's alright." A luxury car stopped in front of them and then the driver came up and opened the car for the old man taking the grocery bags. "I'll see you again, beautiful lady."

"Oka~y… bye…" She waved as the old man entered the car.

The car left and she was too surprised that she was scammed by that old man. She chuckled and shook her head. Well, at least she had a good shopping day with the old man. They spoke about a lot of ingredients and he always mentioned what his grandson liked. Which is almost similar to Kenzo.

She went to the parking lot and looked at the boxes. It's heavy. Damn, why did she buy a lot? She opened her car and took the paper bag that had fruits as orange fell and rolled. She sighed and put the paper bag back on the cart. Then, she quickly rushed to pick the orange juice but someone picked it up.

"Is this yours?" He asked. She was momentarily dazed because of the handsomeness and familiarity.

"Yes,"

The man extended it to her. She noticed the coat that he's wearing. It looked familiar. She took the orange.

"Thank you." She smiled at him.

The man seemed to stop and then noticed her cart.

"I can lend you a hand." He said and approached her.

"It's alright. I don't want to take your time."

She opened her trunk and before she knew it, the man took the big box and put it on her trunk.

"Oh," She was surprised as the man smiled. His hazelnut eyes and amber hair looked familiar to her. "Thank you." She took out another eco bag and placed it next to the boxes.

"No problem." He waved off and left.

She sighed and locked her car. Then, she checked the time. It's almost lunchtime. Plus, she had to pick up a simple suit for her husband. She went to the department store to pick up a cheap suit and tie. Then inner clothes. He didn't mention how many he needed, so she took five of them. She paid it using her card. Then, she happened to pass by the Astera Shop that is owned by Marquess Astera. It's where she got insulted many times since few ladies are making fun of her, mostly Katarina's friends.

But just the other day, her husband bought a lot from that shop. She sighed and walked to the escalator.

"It's you again." She looked up at the tall guy with amber hair who smiled at her. She smiled back.

"Hi." She greeted him. "By the way, thank you for your help a while ago."

"It's nothing. Anyone would do the same." He said as he walked with her.

"Not everyone." She mumbled.

"I'm Hardin." He extended his hand to her.

"I'm Victoria." She accepted his introduction as they shook hands. He extended on the escalator and she stepped in first then, he took one step just behind her.

"I understand that you mean that not everyone could do the same," Hardin said.

"I have met a lot of different people and there are only a few gentlemen in this world."

Hardin chuckled.

"Well, I didn't realize that. My mother tells us to always be kind and compassionate."

She stepped out of the elevator as Hardin followed her.

"I think there are only a few parents who tell the same to their children. Mostly, they would teach them~~" Victoria stopped and couldn't find the word for it.

"To be competitive?"

"Yes." She answered.

"Milady, can I treat you to lunch?"

Victoria stopped and looked down at her shopping bags.

"I think it's inappropriate." She pursed her lips. "I'm a married woman."

Hardin was surprised but then he chuckled.

"I understand. Well, it's good to see you." He extended his hand. She shook it and waved at him.

"I will go now." She said politely.

Hardin watched as the pretty woman walked away. Too much for hooking up!
