Chapter 78 - The Blue Door

Victoria, Harriet, and Vivien were walking in the corridor for a tour with Secretary Bryan. Victoria already admired the beautiful castle but somewhere it looked sad and cold.

"If you like to stay a little longer, Miss Victoria, we already have the room set up for you."

"Well, it's up for Kenzo," Victoria said. "I mean, I don't mind staying a bit."

Secretary Bryan smiled and nodded.

"This is the East wing and no guests from the main hall can enter here. This is only exclusive to the family. Since Kenzo is already part of the family, you can have access here anytime."

"Access…" Victoria mumbled.

"I haven't been here either," Harriet said.

"And of course, friends." Secretary Bryan said.

"Whose room is this?" Victoria asked and pointed to the first door with a different door color.

"That's Lord Ivan's room." He answered with a gentle smile.

"Oh," Victoria nodded.

She wondered which room would be reserved for them if ever Kenzo wanted to stay for a night. They end up in a beautiful bungalow with a beautiful view of the greenhouse and garden.

"Oh, it's so beautiful." She mumbled.

Vivien watched as Victoria's eyes shone as she looked around. She knew well that the man Victoria married is the next Duke. She's happy that she married someone who loves her.

"We can go to the garden, right?" Victoria asked Secretary Bryan.

"Yes, of course, Milady." He opened the door to the stairs down there. They walked down as Harriet asked Secretary Bryan to take photos of them.

The three girls stood on the beautiful statue and snapped photos of them. The girls giggled.

They went back to the private hall and Kenzo stood and approached his wife.

"Okay, let's go." He said.

"Ah." Harriet and Victoria complained.

"Don't tell me that you girls already plan a slumber party?" Kenzo asked.

"That's right! We can have a slumber party!" Harriet said.

Kenzo almost smacked his face. It's their honeymoon and a slumber party isn't included in the plans. He can't wait to go back to their hotel room and make love.

"I think it's too much to ask for a slumber party, dear," Vivien said when she noticed Kenzo's dark face.

"Let's set up a different schedule for a slumber party with Stacey," Kenzo suggested.

"Oh-okay." Harriet looked sad suddenly. "Why won't we peeked at the party?" She asked Victoria. Kenzo was a little worried. However, Victoria was the one who turned her down.

"I'm sorry, Harriet."

"Oh," Harriet sighed. "Okay. I won't bother anymore."

"It's not because I don't want to. It's because my parents are there and my sister won't be nice either… I have bad memories going out in the ballroom."

"Bad memories?" Harriet tilted her head. "I understand." She smiled.

Kenzo put his hand over his wife's back.

"Kenzo, take care of your wife. Harriet and I will be going outside." The Duke said. "Vivien?" He asked.

"I~I will stay here, your grace."

"Alright."

The Duke together with the Marquess and the Marquess's daughter left the room. Vivien sat down on the sofa with Kaisley.

Kenzo took his wife's hand as they sneaked out of the room and went to the East Wing.

"What are we doing here?" She asked him, puzzled on how he knew the place.

Kenzo didn't answer as memories kept running in his head. The familiar corridors didn't change much. He wanted to roam around further and reach every corner of the castle. They stopped in front of the blue double door and opened it.

"That's the Duke's grandson's room, Kenz." She stopped him but he pulled her inside then, he locked the door. The room was dark but he remembered well where the switch was. He clicked it as the lights were on.

He wanted her to see this room. He wanted her not to be surprised for the next few months. He took her to the other side where another door was held for the exclusive bedroom. Kenzo took his wife there and he stared at the bed. His parents usually visit him first before they go to sleep. They would kiss him good night and he won't have any nightmares. Even though he's grown up those times, his mother would always peek at him.

He turned to his wife and lifted her from the floor. Then, he put her on the four-poster bed.

"Kenz," her face was flushed and she looked adorable.

If he hadn't left the castle would he still meet this amazing woman? Their path was crossed back then, and he wished that he'll meet her all over again if none of these things happened.

"I want to do it here." He told her.

"Okay…" She helped him remove his suit carefully and place it on the other side. He lifted her dress and reached her underwear. "It's not dusty here." She noticed and looked around as everything was clean and it smelled good too.

"Did you have fun with the Astera family?" He asked.

"Yes," She sighed when he kissed her neck down to her chest.

"You looked so beautiful, my love."

"You are too handsome… hubby."

"Let's make this quick so we can leave."

Jason was sure that he saw Victoria at this party. There are a lot of nobles around and business people. The Duke showed his face trice too.

"I wonder why he's with the Marquess's family," Katarina said. "The Marquess's wife is not here?" Katarina looked around searching for the possible wife of the Marquess. But the handsome Lord of the Marquess, Hardin, became popular among the nobles. She looked at the cheerful lady of the Marquess, Lady Harriet who spoke to the Duke.

"It's the first time that I saw the Duke laugh a lot. Did he already move on from the family's tragedy?"

Katarina looked at the group of ladies who were speaking about the Duke.

"I heard that the Duke already had an heir for the family business."

The party started to end before midnight. The Duke thanked them for coming and he left.

Jason thought that it's good for the business. They got a chance to be introduced to the Duke. The Duke spoke to Baroness Regina but he somehow disliked Katarina and her parents. He's sure that he saw disgust in his eyes. But not to the Baroness. And he wonders what's going on. Would he win the bidding for the building of Etrama?

Jason knew that he heard a giggle of a familiar woman. He turned his head to see Victoria with Kenzo who was speaking to the Duke and the Marquess's family. The Duke seemed to be teasing Kenzo and even hit the boy. He was utterly confused. What's going on? How did Kenzo manage to have the Duke's favor?

"Jay?" Katarina called.

"Oh," He opened the car door for her and when he turned to them, the Duke left as Kenzo and Victoria together with another girl entered the limousine. Katarina smacked him. He paid attention to his woman as they settled in the car.

Bailey's eyes were stuck to the woman's back. It's accurate that he knew her. But it's impossible. The woman, Victoria's mother, is already dead. He shook his head as he was in deep thought while they were leaving the residence of the Duke. It's indeed impossible. When they reached the hotel he noticed that the limousine was also in front of them. The valet opened it as three people came out.

"Is that Victoria?" Baroness Regina asked.

They watched as Kenzo wrapped his arms around Victoria as they entered the hotel.

"I guess that they are here for their honeymoon. How sweet?" The old woman admired.

He frowned and his eyes darkened. They were next to enter the hotel and he wanted to speak to that daughter of his. He wanted to know why she wore such fancy clothes with her husband. Is she the one paying for it? He had lots of questions now.

They reached the foyer where Victoria and Kenzo were speaking to the receptionist.

He watched as his mother approached the two.

"Grandma," Victoria smiled and hugged her grandmother. Even Kenzo was close to the old woman as he hugged her.

"So, you are here for your honeymoon?" She asked.

"Yes," She answered.

"You both looked gorgeous, did you also attend the Duke's party?"

"How is it possible that the two could have the Duke's invitation?" Dana asked.

But it's true. Bailey was also confused.

"We attend a party that regards business," Victoria said.

"Oh, that's great."

The old woman waved off her family.

"Go, leave me with these two." She waved them off.

"Let's have tea in my suite." The old woman suggested.

"How about in our suite, grandma? We have a special tea that we bought in the Marquess's Tea House." Victoria suggested.

"Sure, that'll be great."

"Kaisley?" Victoria called the woman with them. "Grandma, this is Kaisley. She's working with Kenzo."

"Hi, dear. You look familiar." The woman said as Kaisley bowed her head. "Anyway, let's go?"

Kenzo offered his arm to the old woman as they went to the presidential suite. The old woman was even more pleased that they even stayed in a good honeymoon suite.

"You must have a great job description, Kenzo." The old woman said. "Then, you must be right for ignoring my offer."

"It's just an offer that I considered for a long time, grandma," Kenzo said politely.

Kenzo and Victoria served the tea as they enjoyed it near the chimney.

"This is indeed a good tea. I also like the tea that they served at the party. The Duke said that the Marquess's wife made it. It reminded me of someone who used to serve me good tea." The old woman smiled at the cup of tea.

"Then, who could it, grandma?" Victoria asked.

"She's a maid in our family, dear. But now, she's gone.." Regina seemed to paused for a moment as she remembered something terrifying that happened to the girl inside her house.
