Maverick listened to the boards and greeted him and he nodded as they started discussing the main problem. Belmont was still holding the contract that they claim that one of the Belmont should be part of the board members. But unfortunately, every vote is on Maverick. He was a Belmont and was using his mother's name.
"There's no need for that," Maverick said. "I am here now and the contract expired five years ago." He told them as he sighed to the Lawyer who showed everyone that the original contract was indeed expired.
His secretary came and mumbled to his ear.
"Your father is here?"
Maverick turned to her and murmured back to his ear.
"I don't have a father."
The Secretary nodded and she called the security to kick Belmont out of the company. He knew that it'll be catastrophic outside. He knew that his father would hate him. But he didn't care about his father or his family anymore. That night Butler Paul was a little bit frantic as he did everything to take him away from the house. He thought that he'll be like Kenzo. But Kenzo had suffered more than he did. He lost both his parents at the same time.
Now, as he faced them, he saw shock from their faces. Everyone was surprised by Maverick's move. Everyone was silenced by his brutal actions. They never expected that he would even push away his father. There's one thing about Maverick that they didn't know. He grew more mature and wise as he knows how it feels to sleep on the street on an empty stomach.
"Let's start with these useless projects." He finally said as he had his new laptop with him and checked the files that had been transferred. Including the confidential ones. "So, what's this?" He asked as he tapped his laptop that was automatically connected to the projector.
They frowned seeing the project that goes for nothing. A useless one.

Caleb made calls as he waited for her to wake up. He won't leave until she wakes up and is fine. He even took the papers with him. Working hard early in the morning without any sleep at night was a big headache. However, Caleb wanted to impress the Duke or known as the Prince of the Empire.
"Yes, make sure that those were delivered." He mumbled.
He turned his head slowly and he quickly hung up. She's awake and she's staring at him. He approached her and reached her hand.
"Hey," He smiled. "What do you feel?" She turned her head and looked around.
"W-where am I?" Her voice was hoarse and weak, and she moved her hand to her stomach. "My baby?" She panicked. "Caleb, my baby?" She asked frantically as her blood pressure rose. "Caleb!" She shouted at him when he didn't say anything. She started weeping and slowly turned back from him even though her body was weak.
"I'm sorry." He said softly.
He stood still for minutes until she stopped crying. He pressed the button to call the doctors and nurse after she's done crying. He walked around the bed and kneel on the other side as he reached her hand.
"Stay strong. Okay?"
She didn't say anything. She couldn't say anything. He knew how hard it was for her to go through all of it. He can't take away the pain that she's bearing.
"Your mother-in-law and father attempt to come here." He said softly. "But the guards blocked them as Kenzo told them to." He gently caressed her hair. "Do you want to talk to them?"
She shook her head. He pursed his lips as he wiped her tears that kept on rolling down.
"Secretary Bryant and the Duke announced that you are powerful. You are the acting chairman of the family. You can do anything you want."
She sniffled and held his hand as she started crying again. The door opened as the nurse and doctor came. He helped her with everything as the doctor told her that she needed to be confined for more than two weeks. Her bruises need to be checked and they have to run her through a CT scan and MRI. Then, he assists her in eating, going to the bathroom.
He stayed in with her and let her sleep while he worked. He needed to lower his voice for every meeting so she could have a good rest. Then, he would work quietly.
"You can leave me now." Kaisley suddenly spoke and he raised his eyes on her.
"No one will attend you," Caleb said.
"I'm alright."
"No, you aren't." He gritted his teeth. Alright? She doesn't look fine at all. She's thin and covered with bruises that have been there for more than a year or two. His heart was clenching and it felt so tight that he couldn't even breathe. He wanted to kill the bastard that did that to her. He wanted to kill them all for hurting her like this. "Are you hungry?" He asked as he closed his laptop. "What do you want to eat?"
"I'm not hungry."
"You only have two spoons of your porridge and you drink too little."
"It's better that way." She mumbled. "I lost my only hope."
"Only hope?" He stood and approached her. "Only hope, Kaisley? You are alive. You were critical last night."
"You don't understand." She sobbed. She held her mouth not to cry but her tears rolled down. "My baby is my life. And I promised myself to never go back to that house for the sake of my baby. But this happened. It's my fault that I didn't protect my baby!"
Caleb froze from her words. She's hopeless. The woman he loved so much looked hopeless because of the life that was taken from her.
"I'm here." He raised his voice. She shook her head.
"You think that it's easy to replace it?"
"No." He exhaled, frustratingly as he reached her hands. "What you need is to fight. I am working on the lawsuit and Kenzo let me handle it because," He paused, as no words came out after it. He thought deeply about what happened to them. She won't listen to him in this state.
"Kaisley, I know that it's hard for you. But what you lost doesn't mean that it's the end." He reached her frail face and wiped her tears. "I won't ask you or force you. I will only stay here as a friend. I'll be at your back on whatever decision you will make. That bastard~~the husband who beat you up got bailed out today. Then, the doctor said that the baby's condition isn't well. It'll cause complications because your body is weak. Now, with those things. I want you to stay strong, be strong, and healthy. And you'll be persistent," he pressed her lips to attempt to smile at her. "Victoria and Stacey were here last night and they stayed here. Stacey even rushed to go here in the middle of the night. You see, you aren't alone."
"Caleb, I don't want to take advantage of you and the power that you have now." She shook her head and sniffled.
"It's not my power." He caressed her hair. "It's the Etrama backing you. Do you understand? The Duke claims you like his daughter. Kenzo claims that you are like a big sister. And I believe in you. I know that losing your baby is hard. But, what about those who do bad deeds to you? Do you want them to be happy after what they did to you?" He scoffed. "I could kill for you, Kaisley. But I know that you don't want that." He mumbled, feeling a little overwhelmed.
Kaisley was silent as she only responded by squeezing his hand.
"I would like some spicy chicken soup." She mumbled. Although it's hard to accept, his words hit her. She didn't want those people who killed her baby to become happy after she's gone.
Caleb smiled at her faintly.
"I'm afraid that you can't have something spicy." He gently let go of her hand. "I'll order the best chicken soup. Alright?"
She nodded as she watched him walk around and reached for his phone. She wanted to watch him for a long time. Her heart suddenly missed him but she didn't want to tolerate her heart because of her vulnerability. She told herself that it's over. She told herself that she would always hate him for cheating on her. But who was she to tell him to marry her back then? She didn't have a good background and she was labeled as illegitimate. Then, even her father disowned her.
A knock on the door made them turn around and it opened as Victoria and Stacey entered. Stacey was wearing black glasses.
"We brought soup when I heard from the nurse that you aren't eating well, K." Victoria approached Kaisley and hugged her. Stacey did the same. Caleb took the fruits and other things that the girls brought.
Stacey sat beside Kaisley and wrapped her in her arms for comfort. But Kaisley thought that it's too odd of Stacey and she wondered what happened.
"What's wrong?" Kaisley asked.
"Oh, don't mind her. We are here to comfort you." Victoria said and she pointed to Caleb. "Cal. Heat the soup and peel the apples."
"Well~~yeah sure." Caleb nodded.
"I'm going to kill Maverick," Stacey said aloud as Caleb froze from what she said. "Caleb, explain now!" Stacey commanded.
"Maverick?" Kaisley asked. "Caleb's friend?"
"You know him?" Victoria asked.
