Chapter 106 - The Ugly Truth

Katarina didn't expect that Victoria would shop at Shanghira Shopping Center. She was just touring Lady Vienna and to get to know her more as they have the same taste of clothing and so on. However, seeing Victoria who was buying an expensive watch make her angry. Now, she wanted Victoria to know her place. She doesn't belong to a Parson or any noble family.

"I think that was a little harsh." Lady Vienna said. "But it's a good show." They left the shop and went to the cafe as they checked the Video.

"My face can't be shown there. Do you understand?" Lady Vienna said as she sipped on the coffee that she ordered.

"Of course," Katarina smiled. "By the way, do you have any gown suggestions for the Marquess's first party?"

"Hmm, my mother was the one who prepared it for us." She shrugged. "By the way, what you said is the truth?" Lady Vienna creased her brows.

"Yes, it's a family secret that we took Victoria in, gave her the name of Parson." Katarina sighed. "She's just trash in our family. She's also used with second-hand clothes." She shrugged.

"Hmm, too bad," Vienna said. "But it's true that she cheated on Jason and married a beggar instead?"

"Yes, that's true." Katarina sighed. "When they arrived at Grandma's party, I knew that she's there for the money."

Vienna sipped on her coffee again. She learned a lot about the Parson family. Now, an illegitimate child? That is something.

<><><><>

Victoria's hand was shaking as she was crying at the back of the car. An illegitimate child? That's why she was looked down upon by them. Except for her grandparents. She remembered that time that she was beaten up by her father because she became a clown girl at that party. She was in the hotel and her mother just watched her getting beat up by the belt. She never expected that the ugly truth of being someone else's child was painful. No one ever took her side. Not even her grandparents.

She bit her lip hard as Katarina's words ran through her head over and over again until it became too painful. However, the pain was too much in her chest. She rubbed it and wiped her tears. She can't show this to Kenzo. She's not ready to tell him what happened. She had to face her grandmother first and ask if it was the truth. At the very first, she knew that she wasn't a perfect daughter and although she tried hard to be perfect, they would still hate her because she's not from a pure family.

At the time that she reached the hotel, she hid her red eyes behind the sunglasses and went directly to the house. She then locked herself in the walk-in closet on the corner. It's time to think about it thoroughly.

"What if Kenzo finds it out and he would divorce me?" She mumbled. Her whole body shivers at the thought and she just cried there on the corner silently and lets the pain eat her. She doesn't know if she could live if Kenzo divorces her and leave her because she's not a real Parson. She won't know if she could even go on if Kenzo hates her.

The door opened and she looked up at Kenzo. She probably looked like a little girl clutching on the corner after being hit by her father. Well, it's usually her thing whenever she was beaten by the belt. Kenzo knelt in front of her and reached her face.

"Love, what happened?" He asked softly.

She shook her head and wiped her tears.

"Victoria," His voice deepened. "You've been crying for an hour now." He sighed. "I'm gonna ask you again, what happened?" He asked coldly.

She burst into more tears as she hugged him.

"I'm sorry!" She stopped herself from sobbing but she hiccuped a few times.

"Breath," he rubbed her back.

"I'm sorry. It's your birthday but I didn't get you a gift." She pouted at him. Although his heart breaks seeing her like this, he couldn't help but admire that adorable face. She's still adorable but his heart was squeezed tightly. He knew exactly what happened. He carried her out of the closet and took her to bed. He removed her shoes and went to the table and poured water on the glass.

"You need to dehydrate."

He waited for her to calm down and he left the room.

"Kenz!" She seemed to panic and so she followed him.

"You aren't telling me anything about what happened?" he stopped and turned to her. "Victoria?"

She shook her head.

"I'm fine now."

"Tell. Me." His voice was scary. "Don't make me a fool, Victoria. You came here from the mall, crying. Now, tell me." He said it deep, almost like a growl. It's the first time seeing him angry.

She pursed her lips as her hand started shaking… no, her whole body was shaking. She took heavy steps toward him and reached his hand.

"Don't leave me, okay?"

"What the hell are you talking about?" He pulled her closer. "I want to know every detail."

"You don't have to know!" She raised her voice. "I don't want you to leave me."

"We have been through a lot, Victoria. Why would I leave you?"

She bit her tongue and stared at him with those tears. Kenzo's heart felt like it's going to explode. It's in pain and anger. He doesn't know why his wife has to cry like this and suffer like this. She wants to take it on her own without him, which is hard too. Kenzo wanted to be there for her in every problem that came her way.

"I'm sorry," Kenzo said softly. "I'm sorry if I scare you." He wrapped his left arm around his waist and wiped her tears with his right hand. "Baby, stop crying. Please…" he kissed her forehead.

"If I tell you…" She sniffled. "You might leave me."

"I won't. Whatever it was, I will stay with you."

She hugged him tightly and pressed her lips to keep herself from crying.

"Shh," he patted her head and kept kissing her face. "How about we go somewhere fun today?" He asked. "It's my birthday, please don't cry."

She sniffled and nodded.

"I won't." She smiled at him but still, it cracked.

"Stop crying now and let's put something cold on those puffy eyes."

She sniffled and kept her arms around him.

"Let go now."

She shook her head and so, he had no choice but to carry her to the kitchen. He makes her sit on the counter table of the kitchen. He put two spoons in the freezer and he hugged her.

"Where do you want to go?" he asked.

"We haven't gone to the amusement park." She said. "We still have more time, right?"

"Of course," he kissed her lips. "I already finished everything for today."

She wrapped her arms around his nape and snuggled to him.

"Let me hold you for long, please…" She mumbled.

"Baby, I'm bothered so much." He rubbed her back but he was told by her bodyguard that she encountered her sister with friends and Lady Vienna Belmont. "Something bad happened." He whispered.

"I am fine now, as long as I am with you."

"Hmm," he rubbed her back.

Kenzo took her to the amusement park after she put a little cream on her face to cover her eyes and wore sunglasses. The couple enjoyed a few rides and a few stalls as bodyguards followed them. The bodyguards mixed up with people in casual clothes. He always held her hand to make sure that no one would snatch her or hurt her.

"Look! They are selling flowers here. They are beautiful!"

"Do you want one?" He asked. She stared at him for a while.

"Nah, they'll wither. I'll just admire them."

Kenzo just realized that he wasn't a perfect lover at all. He never bought her flowers. He doesn't remember even buying her flowers. Or did he? He tried hard to be perfect for Victoria, treating her like a queen. He's overlooking their relationship and forgetting something very important. Victoria never asked for such things or weaned at him. She was happy with simple things, like the meal that he cooked for her.

"They have crepes!" She pointed to the crepe stand.

He put his arms around her as they walked toward the crepe stand and waited for their turn. Somehow, people are lined up, waiting for their turn. Kenzo realized that he loved his petite wife standing in front of him while her arms were around his waist. She's an adorable clingy wife which he loved most.

"So, what would you want to have?" He smiled at her.

"I want mango as always, but I think I want to mix it in with other fruits."

"Great," He rubbed her back. "Can we go back home early to make love?" He whispered. She looked up at him and smiled.

"Of course," She tiptoed and pouted her lips. Kenzo bent down and kissed it.

At that time, even though an ugly truth came out, Kenzo wanted to cheer for his wife. She didn't deserve to be bullied and to be looked down on. No one deserved to be treated like that.

"It's getting cold." She mumbled and he rubbed her arm.

"And yet you want crepes?" He grinned.. She giggled and nodded.
