The bells ringing in the cathedral of Augustine Church. It's not the usual church where every royal get married and is crowned. The citizens don't even have an idea about this coronation thing and wedding. Just earlier this morning, there were a lot of garlands and flags that were on different pathways. Highly trained Royal Guards were lined up on the lines.
Currently, Kaisley was peeking at the tall window and she was informed that her groom was in the other wing of the castle.
"You look beautiful, dear." The King said and she turned around and gracefully curtsied. She approached the king as he reached her hand. "Then, I must tell you about you."
"Me?" Kaisley was puzzled. She's wearing this beautiful balloon gown with off-shoulder fabric and around it are rhinestones beads and silver lines.
"Well," He stood sharply as he took her to the sofa. He was holding a box in his other hand. He gestured to sit and she hesitates but she sat down gracefully since her gown was so heavy. Then, Edgar gave the box to her.
She hesitates to open it but when she opens it, photos of Prince Aljur. Then there were letters. She opened one and it was addressed to Aljur. In the letter, there's no one addressed to it but only the 3rd Prince. She opened it and read a letter that seemed to be from the Prince's lover. It was full of love and from reading it, there's a signature of a woman. It's not a name at all but a code name.
From your moonlight.
"This is~~" She looked up at him.
"Search through it."
Then, she searches for the unopened letter. The letter should be addressed to the Moonlight. But it seemed like it hadn't been sent. She lifted it as Edgar nodded. She opened it. She read it and it started making sense.
My dearest Moonlight,
I wish to see you tonight and every other night. The divorce has been approved and I could be with you anytime but I can't. You can marry anyone for the sake of protection. I still wish to see you and our baby girl, Kai~~
My heart ached for not seeing you. I know it's hard for us to be apart but my life is in danger and so are my brothers. Please keep safe for me and our daughter. This might be my last letter, my love… because soon I wish to see you and our darling Princess.
I love you with all of my heart.
P.S…
"It's not finished," Kaisley said.
"That's because he almost got caught by them." The King said. "I managed to sneak in after the Prince gave every precious thing to him. And everything in that box is precious."
Kaisley took the photo of her mother, pregnant with her. Then, there's another photo of her as a baby. She was puzzled and looked up at the King.
"You are my niece, Kaisley. You are the Princess of Etrama. Prince Aljur's only child."
"My mom was~~a mistress?" She asked.
"Your mom was the Prince's lover. Yes, she can be called a mistress but at those times, it was the darkest day in this family. Your father found out about his wife as part of the plan on ending our family." He said. "His wife has a lover… he's part of the plan. That's why Prince Aljur who was in love with the Royal Maid for a long time finally hit it off. He planned to preserve the family blood and make it up with his lover, your mom."
Kaisley doesn't know how to sink it in. She's confused and had jumbled emotions.
"Don't worry, he was already divorced before he died." He chuckled. "He made it come true for your mother, but still, she has to marry that bastard to protect you."
Kaisley's mind was still messed up after sinking all of the information. It turned out that the father that she knows how to care no less about her is not her real father. Her mother became a mistress of the Prince and some people thought that it might be a big thing for them. But it's not. Although her grandfather~~more like her Uncle said that her biological father was divorced and was ready to marry her mother, she still doesn't know how to react.
"So, the gems… that I have now were currently owned by my real father's wife?"
"No." He shook his head. "Only the Prince's children could have them. But with the wife, they could only borrow it. It's a family heirloom after all. Now, we gave it to you for your safekeeping and your future children."
She finally reached a black box and opened it. To her surprise, it's a different ring. The ring is made of gold and the black diamond was surrounded by small clear diamonds.
"If you burn the ring, you'll see your father's message to your mother." The King sat down gracefully. Kaisley was still in mixed emotions as she admired the ring. "You can wear it."
"Grandpa~~"
"You can call me, Uncle." He said softly with those gentle eyes.
"It's too late. Mom is already dead and I hope that they will be together in the next life… if there is." She said solemnly.
He nodded at her and she looked down at the ring. Then, there's another box and when she opened it, her heart melted. It's a pendant of a crescent moon with a diamond in the middle. It's also made of silver and there's a small piece of paper that was folded. She reached for the paper as she put down the box and read it.
"To my dearest Princess Kaisley Jane,
My daughter, I can't wait to meet you and embrace you. Every day and every night before I sleep, I always think of you and your mom. I want to feel you in my arms and see how you will yawn when you are sleepy. It might look so adorable.
I love you, my Princess Kaisley Jane. From the bottom of my heart."
Kaisley tried hard not to cry in that simple message. Her biological father couldn't even hold her when she was a baby. Her heart ached that she never felt it and her real father loved her very much. Unconditionally. Even though they never met face to face.
"Wear that my dear. This is a very special day."
The king reached the necklace and stood as he put it on her. She tried hard not to cry but a tear quickly escaped. She held her mouth so she wouldn't sob, so she wouldn't ruin her make-up. The king quickly reached out the tissue and a knock on the door interrupted them. Prince Philip opens the door and enters.
"I told you not to make her cry." The Prince said aloud but the King only chuckled.
"I'm fine, your highness." She mumbled.
"Oh, my dear." Prince Philip exhaled slowly. "Just tell me if he punched you or something."
She giggled and shook her head as she reached the moon pendant on her neck. She fixed it and put it under the heirloom emerald that she's wearing. She hesitated on wearing the ring that was meant for her mother. Maybe she should wear it on some other day. She gently closed the box as there's another knock. Victoria and Stacey entered with Harriet.
"Your makeup is ruined," Harriet exclaimed.
Kaisley sniffled.
"Grandpas," Victoria frowned a little. "What happened?"
"Nothing," Kaisley chuckled. "Where's Cal?"
"Well, he and the boys are on their way to the church," Stacey said and approached her. "Let's fix your makeup."
Kaisley nodded and wiped her nose gently.
"Well, we will wait for a while." The King said.
"Can I keep this?" Kaisley hugged the box.
"It's yours, my dear." The King kissed her forehead.
It's Kaisley's day. Since she learned about her identity, she has to go through it. It is what her father wanted. The real father was not the bastard who mistreated her and sold her off to that asshole who violated her. But guess what to those assholes who hurt her, she's a real Princess and her father was a Prince. They will just suck it up and her Uncles will torture them more.
Soon after she calmed down. Her carriage was waiting outside. Somehow, the carriage was made of thick glass. Bulletproof glass so the people could see her. Just in case someone would shoot her from afar, she'll be protected by the glass. Inside the glass, she's with the King and the Prince who would take her to the altar. Back before Prince Aljur died, he already wrote everything in his journal and his last will. His wish was to walk her daughter in the aisle to her groom and her two Uncles are making it come true.
"I am sure that your mother and father are happy, wherever they are." Prince Philip said softly.
"After this, I promise babies." She told them and chuckled.
"Well, I can't wait." King Edgar said as the two old men laughed, and she giggled with them.
It's a beautiful sunny day, and there were a lot of people cheering for them. They waved at them a little, mostly the King and the Prince and she was a little shy. Now, it's time to make her dream come true.. To marry the man she ever loved from the start.
