Chapter 192 - The History

Victoria was already snuggled to her husband in the theater room waiting for the opening of the movie that will be played later at midnight. Currently, it's an advertisement with the King's message to the people about the Blue Empire Happy Day. He sent out food to each person, even the people in the shelter. They are an Empire at peace.

"I hate seeing my face on the monitor." King Edgar said as he sat on the single sofa and adjusted it to reclined it. The family Astera arrived, shortly Prince Philip with Baroness Regina arrived with the heir that she considered. They all take their seats in comfortable couches.

"Don't worry, you look good." Prince Philip said.

"My character would be better if it was animated." The King said that made Victoria giggled.

"Grandpa, I think both are fine," Victoria said. She turned her head to Caleb and Kaisley who set up the snacks, mostly popcorn and bags of chips that they bought from a convenience store nearby.

"Careful," a familiar man said, leading Stacey to the back seat. He even put a blanket on her and snatched a bag of chips from Caleb and gave it to Stacey. Caleb pouted at Maverick.

"You have to pay it with your kiss." Caleb threatened Maverick who was bent over him acting to kiss him but he flicked his nose instead. "Ow!"

"Stop harassing my man, Cal." Stacey threatened.

Victoria giggled and others saw it. Then, the timer starts as there are fireworks in other areas. Then, after five minutes of fireworks, the movie started and lots of people went to see it and they started commenting. They were surprised by the opening. It was an animation and although Stacey had watched it many times, she was still surprised about how the story goes.

It started centuries ago. When, the great, great, great King Etrama saved the country from a mad King. However, it wasn't easy for them. They slowly rebuilt it as it goes through history and they skipped it until the greatest king made a three-day special as a Blue Empire Happy Day. They always seek equality and according to rules. Although there might be laws that aren't favored by many, the tenth King always tried to make it fair for everyone.

For years it was a happy Empire even though there were lots of crises that happened. But the King was never selfish. He was compassionate and with happy people around with unity, they made it through Crises. There's also a story that the current Crown Prince passed the throne to his younger brother. It was supposed to be happy until a deceased hit the Royal Family. It started with slowly poisoning the King's wife and children. Until a few royals died.

There's also a very warm scenario that Victoria made. Kenzo was fazed by it. It was the assassination of his parents. Victoria wrote it with Kenzo's approval. However, he never expected that the trauma would trigger a little. But Victoria held his hand tightly. He bent down and pressed his lips to her head. There's also the Maverick who escaped his own house and that's when the two Blue Bloods meet each other as beggars as they work in construction and other things. Then, finally met their loved ones and became both Dukes.

In the end, the new generation reigns to give justice and to make people happy in their ways.

"Wow," Harriet mumbled, who was holding Kane's hand secretly under the blanket. "That's amazing."

"And it's a true story. It'll be only up for the viewers if they take it as real history." The King said as he stood. "It's sleep time." He stretched his arms. "It's a great story and animation, Stacey, Victoria."

"Thank you, grandpa." Victoria and Stacey said at the same time.

Kane sneaked out with Harriet in the garden since they are using the ground floor guest room with a balcony to the garden. There was silence but the two were holding each other's hands.

"The ball is in a few days," Kane said.

"I know." She grinned up at him. "Are you nervous?"

"No." He shook his head and looked straight to the pathway. They weren't a couple but they were holding hands together like they were. Harriet pressed her lips and stared up at him.

"Kane, why were you worried?" She asked.

"About what?" He gently squeezed her hands.

"Why did you buy a phone that is the same as yours? Why did you almost rush to the Duchess's castle? Why did you care for me?"

Kane didn't answer her but they continued walking. He couldn't answer her because he didn't know what exactly to say when his head said that he shouldn't pursue her because she's an Astera. He loves her so much but does it have to be

She pursed her lips and walked by with him. She was tired but still, she wanted to spend time alone with him.

"Harriet, you were the only sister that I have even though not by blood." He mumbled. Although she expected him to say such a thing, she still has high hopes. "I shouldn't love you too much, but~~" He stopped himself from blurting it out. She stopped walking and turned to him but he turned his head away.

"What do you mean by that?" She asked and tugged his shirt. "Kane." She pouted at him. Her eyes suddenly felt warm and she tried hard not to let go of her tears. "Kane." She pulled his arm and he quickly wrapped his big long arms around her and gently pressed the back of her head to his chest. Her lips wobbled and she hugged him back.

"Aren't you tired? We still have a long day tomorrow. We should go."

"I'm so tired."

Kane didn't let her go and they stayed like that for long.

"I love you." She whispered and she didn't care if he would hear it.

Kane gently pushed her and carried her to the bench. She clung to him like a leech. He didn't mind because he was clinging to her too. She's so tired, he carried her on his back and took her to the guest room that was assigned to her. She tucked her in and gently brushed his lips to her lips and finally pressed it to her forehead.

"I love you so much." He whispered and he finally left her room.

Harriet opened her eyes after hearing Kane leave. She covered her face and started sobbing. Somehow, her heart hurts. They both love each other but Kane was holding back. She doesn't understand why but she doesn't want to be apart from him. She turned sideways and sniffled as she reached the tissue on the bedside table. She blew her nose and sniffled. She sat up and clenched her fist.

"I won't give up!" She said to cheer herself. She reached for her tablet and started scribbling on what happened.

Dear Self,

My heart is pumping every time I am close to Kane. He was like my personal adrenaline. If it wasn't for the love, I wouldn't care that much.

He's oozing hot and handsome in that game. I know that he's great in swords and guns but he's not perfect at all. Who wants someone so perfect? Even a man who married a perfect wife would still look for another woman. I don't want any perfect man, but someone that my heart wants. Then, I have a deep thought. He's not just someone that my heart wants but my mind goes crazy because of him.

"Right!" She punched the air. "I will seduce him until he can't say no." She stopped when something dirty got into her head. "Wait, that's not what I mean!" She argued with herself. "I mean…" She mumbled. "I don't want him to say no from being with me!" She hissed at herself.

She continued writing. Then, she stopped when the door slowly opened. She hid her tablet and lay down quickly to pretend that she's asleep. She opened her left eye to peek at that someone.

"Brat! I know that you are awake."

She sat up and glared at Hardin.

"What?"

"Were you out with Kane a while ago?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Where did the two of you go?" he crossed his arms after closing the door.

"In the garden. We were admiring the flowers. Why are you intrigued? We always do that every night when we can't sleep."

"Then, why didn't you tell me?"

"You are a hindrance between me and Kane. Now, leave my room, brother."

He rolled his eyes.

"Alright, whatever sis." He turned back, opened the door, and left.

She sighed and took her tablet and continued scribbling and also told her about her brother. The door opened slowly and she frowned when she thought that it was Hardin but the tall man locked the door. She quickly turned on her lampshade and stared at the man quizzically.

"Kane?"

He put his finger to his lips, and she put away her tablet and pen. He approached her and gently pushed the duvet, and slid beside her.

"Kane," She called again.

"Let's sleep together." He whispered. "Your brother already went to his room." He kissed her cheeks. She was puzzled on why Kane was doing that but she didn't mind at all. She turned off the lamp and they lay down facing each other with a pillow between them. "I thought you were asleep?"

"I was writing something." She mumbled and put her hand over the pillow between them.. He gently placed his big hand over her hand and he reached it to kiss it.
