Welch Grand Penthouse, Westeria
Lady Regina didn't have to hear from Victoria about what happened. It was all over the news that the granddaughter that Dana gave was a defective bitch. They are currently in Regina's room with Renzel beside her. Renzel is the only one that she could trust in this family. He was also the one who took care of the matter first after he heard from Victoria about what happened.
Victoria didn't want their grandmother to know about this so he took action instead of telling their grandmother. He also sent flowers to the victim formally and apologized to them. He will compensate them no matter what. But then, Regina heard that it was Victoria who pushed Mila Elish, but she found it out through her secretary.
"I am done covering you up," Regina said.
"Mother," Dana kneels in front of her but Regina strode fast toward Katarina and slapped her hard.
"If you know how to compose yourself this wouldn't happen." Then, she glared at Jason. "I don't have any more infidelity in this family."
"Grandma," Katarina started sobbing.
"And one of the biggest crimes you did is slandering the Duchess of Westeria! I am done with this."
"Mother, please. I beg you."
"There's no weeding." She glared at Jason. "And I will withdraw any contract that my family has with yours."
Renzel already thought that this was bad. But for the sake of their reputation, they have to withdraw. He can find another project soon. Besides, they have a family that is a Duchess. He will have to face her with a thick-face since she's also become a stockholder after their grandmother gave half of her stocks to Victoria.
"If you want your daughter to marry this man, then it's up to you. But I want you to pack up everything from that mansion and leave."
"Mother, they are my family," Bailey exclaimed.
"You have your own house, Bailey. Why won't you live there?"
Secretary Yazmin already had all of their luggage ready before the Baroness confronted them.
Bailey couldn't say anything after her mother hurt Katarina. Jason couldn't also say anything in front of the Baroness. From all over the country, she's one of the richest Baronesses among all other Baron rank in this country.
"Renzel, take care of this matter and stay in Westeria until this is done."
Renzel bowed his head.
"Yes, grandmother."
They left Dana who was kneeling on the floor and Bailey faced Katarina and slapped the other cheek hard.
"D-Dad," She felt a little dizzy after that.
"This is enough humiliation." He said and glared at Jason. "First Victoria, now Katarina. I won't let you marry my daughter."
"Yes, sir," Jason said. "I am also breaking the engagement," Jason said that made Katarina's eyes dilated.
Bailey didn't think twice about slapping him too on both cheeks. Jason took it since he knew that he was the one who was wrong from the very start. He should have been faithful to Victoria. He was a perfect submissive wife but he cheated with someone narcissistic.
Renzel didn't want to see any more of it as Dana pulled Bailey and started screaming at him. He's tired and he doesn't have much sleep at all. He took his bag from his room and his mother asked him quickly about it. He didn't say anything. He doesn't want her to get involved in any matters now. He was worried that the Baroness would get hospitalized again.
"Renz, you have to tell me! Are you going to the heir~~" She held his left arm.
"Mother, no." He scolded her. "I am tired and I don't have any sleep. But you are more worried about inheritance than my health. I am tired of this. Give me a break." He grabbed his arm and walked away.
He drove his rented car directly to the condominium unit that he bought whenever he had a business in Westeria. He put his bag on the side as he slumped on the sofa. He held his head and massaged it.
"There's a lot of things to do." He mumbled. But instead of resting, he stood and drove in the city and picked up the pastries and flowers that he ordered to visit Mila Elish.
It only takes twenty minutes to reach the hospital. He was also going to pay for the damages. Her parents didn't scold him that much. He needs to appease them on what happened.
"You are here again," Mila mumbled and closed her eyes hard.
"I didn't blame you for playing with Jason and getting caught by my psychopath cousin." He put the box of pastries over the table.
"She's indeed a psychopath." She laughed hard and wiped the tear on the side of her eyes. "Do you know why I did it?"
"I don't have to know, right?" Renzel remained calm and casual but somehow, he felt bad towards her.
"I want to ruin both of them." She smirked at him. "Jason made me kill my baby. He left to like and went after Victoria Parson. Then, when I realized that he was seeing Katarina, I wanted to make them both pay for what they did."
"What do you mean?" Renzel stared at her.
"Katarina was one of the reasons that my baby died. It was Jason's baby too. She made fun of me at that party after Jason left me. No one knows that I got a miscarriage. They are lucky enough that I didn't mention their names."
Renzel never thought that a woman could become twisted like this. She was used by that asshole too and he couldn't blame her for it.
"Your father had a lot of debts and your family business is at the edge of bankruptcy. I am willing to help twenty percent."
"It's fine. You don't have to owe me anything. Your cousin was the one who owes me a lot. Besides, I have a business growing too." She smirked. "The Dominant Hotel. That's mine."
Renzel was surprised once again. Dominant Hotel is one of the known hotels for a lot of ministers and businessmen who committed infidelity.
"They were our VIP customers and I earn a lot from Jason and Katarina who visit there a lot." She smirked.
A knock on the door made them stop. The mother entered.
"The Duchess is here."
Mila's eyes dilated and the Duchess entered with flowers, a basket of fruits, and a small disposable cooler.
"D-Duchess." Mila wanted to curtsy or bow. Then, Renzel bowed at her formally.
"You don't need to do that," Victoria told her cousin. "I am only here to see you, Mila. I didn't expect my cousin to be here."
Renzel quickly took the basket from her and put it on the table. Then, he greeted her with a kiss on the cheek.
"How are you?" Renzel asked.
"I am doing fine. But you don't look so good. Did grandma tell you to fix things that Katarina and Jason did?"
"Yes, they already break their engagement." He said and Victoria nodded. She faced Mila and smiled.
"How are you, Mila?"
"I—I'm fine Duchess. Thank you for helping me."
"Are you going to press charges on Katarina?"
She looked away and bit her lips.
"I am not here to stop you at all. What Katarina did is partially a crime." She said, "I am here to see how you are doing. I didn't stop you and Katarina at that time."
"No." Mila pressed her lips. "Thank you, Duchess Victoria."
"You are welcome." She smiled and reached Mila's hand. "I will be leaving now."
Renzel escorted her outside as Victoria faced him.
"Where are you staying now?"
"In my condo unit." He answered. "Don't worry about me. I'm fine."
"Why won't you stay in the castle? You don't look well at all."
"Victoria, I'm fine."
"If you collapsed out of nowhere there's no one that would take care of you. Give me your address. I will have someone escort you to the castle."
"I am completely fine, Victoria."
"Renzel, have you looked at yourself in the mirror? I am sure that you can't drive in that condition."
Renzel hated to admit it. But there was a time that he got blurry vision while driving. Victoria looked at her bodyguard.
"Escort him to his unit and make sure that he would get safely back to his unit.
He watched Victoria leave and the Bodyguard stayed with him. He went back inside and looked at Mila who still had swollen cheeks.
"I will be leaving now," Renzel said.
"Don't you want to get a check-up first?" Mila asked. She didn't realize that he looked pale and had dark circles under her eyes.
"I'm fine. I will visit you tomorrow." He said and left.
The bodyguard followed him and even drove his car personally back to his unit. He took his bag again. Then, he was taken to the castle, and outside, Kenzo was waiting to greet him.
He bowed in front of him as Kenzo tapped him.
"My wife came home earlier than I expected. She already set up the table. Let's eat first."
"Thank you for welcoming me here, Duke Kenzo."
"It's not a problem at all. My wife is worried about your health and you are most welcome here."
"Thank you."
Renzel and Kenzo reached the dining hall and found Victoria helping with organizing the table. He glanced at Victoria's Assistant who joined them in dinner. After a few bites of the delicious foods, Kenzo speaks.
"How's the business going?"
"I am currently fixing a few problems. Jason agreed on breaking the engagement since grandmother withdrew all of the contracts with the Welch Company."
Kenzo looked at Victoria. He knew that she would help since she's part of the company.
"Sell Katarina's stocks to me. I will help the company if you do that." Victoria said.
"That's not easy."
"It's easy," Victoria said. "It was originally grandmother's stocks. She can take it away if she wants."
"I will think about it."
"For now, let's not talk about business.." Victoria glared at her husband.
