Chapter 167 - 167 Invitation At The Park Mansion

"Master, an invitation for you has arrived." Ther butler said respectfully to the man sitting behind his laptop. When the butler thought that his master was working, he saw the man's eyes staring blankly at a photo on his table. It seemed that he was deep in thought, so deep that he was not able to notice the butler coming in.

"Master?" Thw butler called again in a louder voice, trying to catch his master's attention. Thankfully, though, he was successful.

The man blinked his eyes, with eyes starting to refocus. He looke up in his stoic face and his eyes were calm yet dangerous.

The man was in his early fifties with his hair littered with white streaks. His nose was long, full red lips, brows thick and unruly yet beautiful, and dark eyes so sharp and vicious covered with feigned gentleness. He was a handsome man with a m.a.t.u.r.e air.

"Uncle Fong, you're here." The man's voice sounded cold and detached. It seemed like he was not at akk interested in anything in particular.

Hearing this, Liu Fong, the head butler, only smiled bitterly. He felt pity for his master but her was in no position to do anything other than just observe and assist his master in all possible way. Also, his master might get offended from his words. He does not want to overstep his bounds.

"Yes, master. An invitation has arrived for you this early in the morning. An attendant from the Song family personally dropped this here." He said. He glanced at his master's face looking curiosly at the envelope in his hand. "He also said that this is to be given to the head of the Park family."

The man went to receive the envelope and opened it. He pulled out the card and looked it up. He scanned his eyes over it without much interest until he read something that made his widen in shock and incredulity.

He could not believe it. Are his eyes playing tricks on him? No! THat's not possible.

The man's jaw tightened and his hand clenched into fist till it turned blue. He almost cut himself at this. However, the pain was not able to awaken him from his stupor. He was glaring at the card in his hand as if he was looking at his enemy.

"Master Peizhi..." The butler was also shocked. He does not know what was in the invitation but he was left dumbfounded at the unusual reaction his master showed and it was even that huge.

Just what was written in it to make his master so angry? He was getting curious about it.

"Song and Park..." Peizhi said aloud and his eyes squinted darkly. Then, a deep laugh full of mockery escaped his mouth. "Seems like my daughter had found someone great. It seemed like she can still be useful for me."

After saying this, he tossed the card without much care on his table and leaned on his chair. His smile was full of mockery and his eyes were cold and cunning.

"Do you mean the Young Miss Lanna?" The butler asked as a light flashed across his old eyes. He was not able to do much about his young miss that time. He was out of the country that time when the young miss was tossed out of the mansion. It was already too late when he knew about it and he could no longer do anything. He was really full of guilt. He was not able to help the little lady.

"Ah. She's pretty, of course, so men had flock over to her. Tch. She's just like her mother." Peizhi spat this venomously. His hatred surged as soon as he mentioned the word "mother." It was really such a disgusting thing for him to say. "Because of her beauty, she was able to seduce the young master of the Song family, it seems."

"The Song family? Are you saying that Song family from City A, master?" Liu Fong asked, not expecting this at all. He could not understand why the master had such hate toward the previous madam when the two were harmoniously together before? And now, it seemed the hatred of his master had stemed and got diverted to his daughter, Lanna October.

Just what happened that his master got to hate the previous madam so much? The butler felt like his head was starting to pound so painfully just by thinking at this. This matter was really something he could no longer handle. He was getting old.

"That's right." Peizhi harrumphed with a dark smile on his face. Glancing at the invitation card, he stood up from his chair, shoved his hands in his pockets and walked toward the french window overlooking the front yard of the mansion with a fountain at the center.

Peizhi had a look of someone as if he was on top of the world looking down on other people as if they were ants. Other people lower than him were not at all deserving to gain attention.

"As for that thing, it's a wedding invitation." Peizhi coldly said with raised chin.

"Ha~!" The butler said reluctantly. He then thought and put the pieces together. As soon as he realized this, he was happy. But then seeing the look on his master's face made him really worried for whatever will happen.

Peizhi gave Liu Fong a sideway glance and a smirk. "It seemed like you don't need me to tell you about it. Anyway, as the father-in-law of the young master of the Song family, I should not embarrass myself. Uncle Fong, please prepare the wedding gift."

After saying that, he went to his son's room. When he opened the room, he instantly saw his son reading a book in history. Just looking at how diligent and smart his son was made him all the more love his wife. To have given him such a good child, he was grateful for that.

He looked at his son with warmth; there was no wickedness and cunningness in his face, only the face of a loving father.

"Ah. Father, good morning." Longwei closed the book he was reading, put it on the side table and went to walk in front of his father. He then strained his head up to look at his father. His height only reached his father's knees. At such a young age, he had the disposition of an a.d.u.l.t already.

Peizhi warmly smiled and crouched down in order for them to look at each other at eye level. He then patted dotingly at his son's head and said, "You're studying really hard. I'm glad. You really are my son who I can be proud of."

Longwei would have been happy to hear this, that is if he was a normal kid. However, he was not. Hearing this only made him upset. The look on his face was that of discontent. Fortunately, his father was not able to notice the strangeness his son was emitting.
