Chapter 224 - 224 He Family of City A

"President! Please reconsider this." Assistant Ke begged his stubborn master. If not because of the other heads holding him in place, he would have already kneeled on the ground to plead this almighty being before him. "President, I can't just let you do that."

The old man before Assistnat Ke was none other than the Head of the He Family and the business legend, He Tian popularly known as Master He. He was involved with many business industries. His business was mainly with petrolium industry before it branched out and took root on other kinds of industries. This created a huge commotion with the competing companies.

Right now, however, that domineering and cunning legend was sitting on his chair with a stubborn look on his face. He did not look at his assistant and seemed to block all of the noise that was created by the buzzing bees in front of him that was his subordinates. In fact, he was acting like a little spoiled kid who wants to go out and play outside even if he was forbidden not to.

"Ah. I should inform my granddaughter about this great news." Grandpa He pulled out his phone from the pocket inside his suit jacket. He was looking very enthusiastic in dialling her number, completely ignoring the pleas of his subordinates.

"Master! How can you take another vacation when it wasn't even long when you had that?!" Assistant Ke was so frustrated and helpless about this. He just wanted to cry but lack tears. How can things he planned won't go according to what he had expected to happen?

If he could quit, he would have already done that long ago! But the problem was that he can't! He just can't and that's making him even more miserable.

Still, his pleas was never heard and ignored by his master.

Grandpa He dialled October's phone but it was not connected, much to his surprise. In fact, it was busy. 'Tch. That brat must have called her.'

His frown deepened as he dialled October's phone a second time. Then third...fourth...but there was still no answer and was still busy. He tightly gripped his phone and had the urge to throw his phone into pieces.

Even if Grandpa He had a good temperament, but when it comes to things that was related to his precious granddaughter, then his fuse was scarce.

"Father, Uncle Ke, what is going on?" He Jei, Grandpa He's eldest son, came in to the meeting room and was surprised at the scene before him: his father glaring at his phone while his father's assistant was half-kneeling with a bitter look in his face. It was so bizarre that he had trouble believing it.

Grandpa He seemed to not notice or heard his son's call as he was immersed in tapping on his phone. Of course, this was all an act. He knew that his son had arrived but he was just too lazy to bother with the people inside the room.

"?" He Jei turned to Assistant Ke to ask for answers since his father was acting like he can't anyone.

Assistant Ke turned his tired eyes as he felt like he was wronged by his wife. He was so feeling so indignant.

"Young master, you're here." He started. "Master wants to take another vacation again (to visit the young miss in City D)."

Assistant Ke had omitted the last part since it was not known in the social circle in City A that the He family has a granddaughter living in City D. But despite their meticulous actions, there were still information that will leak regarding the He Family Head who frequently flies to City D.

Hearing this, He Jei felt like his head was starting to ache. He really wondered how his father was able to grow their company into something like when he was this eccentric and unpredictable.

With a deep sigh and a look of helplessness, He Jei turned to look at his father who was ignoring his glowering gaze before sighing again. He walked toward his father.

"Father, please listen to Uncle Ke. You have already took quite a long vacation. Wasn't that enough already?"

Grandpa He straightened his back before slowly turning to his son who was giving him such look. He was starting to get irritated from the people surrounding him who keeps on nagging at him.

"Are you lecturing me? Your father?" Grandpa He sneered without giving his son a glance.

"That's not what I am doing, and you know that." He Jei felt aggrieved. "Stop twisting my words, father."

"Tch." Grandpa He clicked his tongue. He was not in the mood in calling his precious granddaughter before putting his phone back in his pocket.

"I know that you miss them but we can't do anything about that now. Also, you still have mountains of work to finish. Please be responsible and finish all of it."

Grandpa He turned to look at his son who resembles him for the first time. In all of his sons, his eldest was the most diligent and hard-working person. He was also tenacious, just like him.

After a long while of thinking, Grandpa He leaned his old back on the chair and his hands on his cane. He had a look of seriousness that was not like his usual playful personality.

Feeling the intense gaze from his father, He Jei gritted his teeth to endure the pressure that accompanied that gaze. He has to stand his ground in order to make a point in front of the heads.

It was as if there was some sort of silent alliance in the room. However, the peace in the room did not last long as He Tian finally opened his mouth. However, his next words were words that made of the people in the meeting room look at Grandpa He like she was an Ice Goddess that came down from the severe heat.

"He Jei, you are already an outstanding figure in all of the companies. You did not fight for this inherance at all these years only to show that you have the knack in business. Listen. I have an announcement." He Tian's booming voice that was neither soft nor loud reverberated clearly in the room.

Silence instantly descended in the room as they curiosly looked at their president. Their gazes were too piercing but Grandpa He did not show any uneasiness or openings for other's to criticize. He was not seen awkward or unpleasant to the eyes. As to what this announcement was, the people does not know as to what he wanted to do.

Assistant Ke and He Jei was not spared as they were also baffled by Grandpa He's peculiar behaviour.

"The one who will inheret half of my businesses will be He Jian."

"..." Investors

"..." Department Heads

"..." He Jei and Assistant Ke was dumbfounded.

Half of the business? Then who's hands will that inheret the remaining shares? Will it be given to the other sons and grandchildren?

"...father. Don't be hasty with your decisions. Don't drink too much." He Jei exclaimed as he does not want his father to say something so ominous through his eyes.
