20 Perfect Crime

John's beloved Dahlia was naked in the bed and has been pinned down by a masked guy who was in the process of violating his girlfriend sexually!

Both Dahlia and the masked guy looked at John.

"John, please don't come!" Dahlia begged in a hoarse voice tears were running down her face.

The masked guy was pressing a knife into Dahlia's neck.

The more John steps forward, the more the knife was pressed tighter into Dahlia's neck drawing blood.

"Go away John, please go away! Save yourself!" she screamed again.

John doesn't hear Dahlia's pleading, what only registers in his mind is how to save her from the masked man.

The moment John advances into the masked man, the knife tore deeper into Dahlia's neck, a pool of blood was now soaking the pillow. Dahlia screams in pain and agony, calling John for help.

John jumped at the masked guy hitting the guy's head with his fist. The masked guy fell into the floor still holding the knife.

John grabs the blanket and wrapped it quickly on Dahlia's neck to stop the bleeding.

He was busy trying to save Dahlia, he entirely forgotten the armed guy who fell in the floor was now back in the bed kicking John hard in the rib, John's body tumbled to the floor hitting his head first, he felt a searing pain in his head from the impact of the fall, he suddenly felt nauseous and before he lost consciousness, he saw the masked guy walked to his side, the knife's blade glistened in the light in front of John's eyes blinding his vision...

"You dared take my woman away? She is mine! Mine! Mine!" the guy growled.

The masked guy hit John's head with his fist and John finally lost consciousness...

Two hours later...

Out of curiosity, the nearest neighbor who noticed the opened gate of Dahlia's rented house entered the house and discovered the gruesome murder that took place inside.

Within minutes, an ambulance from the nearest hospital arrived on the crime scene, police investigators cordon off the whole house with yellow tape with five words written on it: Crime Scene Do Not Cross

The shocking news of the gruesome murder filled the headlines of leading newspapers and media outlets for the next few days.

Son of the business Tycoon and his girlfriend a victim of violent murder spree...filled the national headlines.

No suspect has been found, no evidence, the crime scene is clean, no fingerprints of any third party, no weapons have been found. Nothing!

It was a clean murder!

Three days later...

John woke up in a hospital bed surrounded by his family. His face was wrapped in a bandage. He wanted to talk and ask for Dahlia's condition. But he can't even open his mouth due to the heavy bandage on his face. What happened to his face? He can feel pain all over his face!

Five days later...

Was the saddest day ever for John. Romeo his best friend told him that Dahlia passed away due to blood hemorrhage caused by the open wound on her neck. The knifeman also cut John's face many times with the intention to disfigure his face. Only his face suffered the fatal blow, his other body parts below his neck were untouched. The crime baffled the police investigator who supervises the crime investigation.

Two months later the wound on John's face starting to heal well and he can finally talk freely. The police start questioning him about the night of the murder on what really happened on that night. John answered all their question again and again for the hundred times. Each time he answered and recounted what happened on that horrible night he was going crazy! He was being tortured inside by extreme guilt because he remembered again and again how he saw Dahlia's eyes starting to go lifeless under his gaze. He knows she was dying yet he was not able to save her!

He hated himself for that!

What kind of boyfriend is he that he can't even save his girlfriend?

He was undergoing severe trauma and would wake up in the middle of the night screaming in horror and his entire body covered with sweats.

Six months later...John's parents hired Ramon his first ever bodyguard and another two more to protect him since the knifeman was still at large. They were afraid that the knifeman will return to finish John once and for all.

Days rolled into weeks...

Weeks rolled into months and months rolled into years.

People were busy with their lives and the crime was slowly forgotten by everyone except John.

One year after the tragedy...

John was able to return to his normal life, wearing a mask daily to hide the scars on his face. He became withdrawn and retreated into his own world.

Another tragedy hit their family, his brother Joseph nearly died because of a drug overdose. He is a drug addict that frequently come and go in a drug rehabilitation center. Desperate to save their other son, his mother and father went abroad to the USA to bring Joseph there for more intensive drug rehabilitation program.

John was left alone to manage all their businesses. He channeled all his energy into making their family business grow into a more successful and stable business empire, engaging in different business ventures left and right. In spite of all the success he built around him he remained a recluse, imprisoned within the four corners of his dark past that keeps hunting him for the last seven years.

He wasn't able to get over with the tragedy.

The nightmare was still fresh and the killer was still at large.

The murder case involving Dahlia, the mysterious and elusive knifeman and John remained dormant, buried through the years, meant to be forgotten just like the thousands of unsolved murder cases all over the country.

John's family was still living in the United States of America, and Joseph was still in rehab. His father can't leave Joh's mother alone in the state because she also had a heart problem and she can't handle Joseph on her own.

John thrived in loneliness that was feeding his body and soul with a different kind of strength. Inside, he felt his heart and soul was rotten. He blamed himself for Dahlia's death. If he didn't try to save Dahlia and just walked away and save his own skin, would the killer let go of Dahlia? Will she remained alive in the present times?

Did he provoke the killer to kill Dahlia?

Is the killer's intention was just to r-ape Dahlia and not kill her?

Was his intention of saving her was the catalyst of her death?

A lot of questions hunt John's every night, leading him to another addiction of uncontrollable need for sex. Every time he will have regular sex with a woman one or two times a week, he will enjoy a few nights free of nightmare and horrific dreams. His mind and body crave that specific cure, that is how Madame Butterfly's services come in handy to John's sex addiction.

He was able to shake off that sex addiction eight months ago.

Until he meets Catherine...
