Catherine was already gone back home, lying in her tiny bed, remembering what happened last night.
John broke up with her, later he retracted it. Testing her or not still painful for her. Then they talk a little bit more and she got drunk with the wine he continued giving her and they made love as always. Their intense physical attraction towards each other was to blame for everything.
When she woke up in the morning, John was still sound asleep. She immediately went out of his flat and thankful that Ramon was already awake and brought her home.
Now she was already back home. She needs to think straight and prioritize.
She and Caroline were not on good speaking terms. She and her mother were also not talking to each other and it's all because of John. She sighed. It's not John's fault either, he was madly in love with her and marrying her was the result of that mad love.
To make her family whole again, she needs to give up John, but she can't! To make John happy she has to marry him and suffer the never-ending conflict between her and her mother, and it's very hard being in the middle.
She can't give up John. She loves him so much it will be her death if they broke up!
She loves her mother so much too, they are her treasure.
What to do?
The doctor says that her mother should avoid suffering from extreme stress, and other negative emotions, and based on her mother's reaction yesterday's upon hearing that the wedding was canceled she was smiling and happy. Her extreme pain was her mother's happiness! How ironic! Thelma is the only living parent she had, she was afraid she will lose her mother too soon if she keeps seeing John.
She will tell John to postpone the wedding and reschedule it two or three months later. Maybe her mother can finally accept John during those later times. She will start praying hard to God from now on.
The frustration still hung heavily in her heart due to the wedding didn't push through as planned. She was so saddened about it. John's effort, hard work, and money was all wasted
She released a deep frustrating sigh in the air.
She will go to the hospital today and bring her mother home. She exited her room and took a bath.
Done with bathing she opened the door of their house. She will do some cleaning before she will go to the hospital.
As she was sweeping some trash at the entrance of their home, a motorcycle suddenly parked in front of their house, it's Jerome!
"Hi, Catherine!"
"Hello, Jerome!"
"I heard about what happened to your mother. I was supposed to go there now to visit her."
"I will go to the hospital later to bring her home, she will be discharged today."
"That's good. I just wanna say I'm sorry that your wedding was canceled," he said.
Her brows furrowed. "How did you know?"
"I was there inside the Hall of Justice watching you from afar about to get married to that guy wearing a white mask on his face. You looked beautiful and radiant in your white wedding dress. I wish I am the one you are marrying with. When I saw you and Grace getting out of the Hall of Justice in a hurry I knew something is wrong, so after your groom and his entourage walked out of the venue I asked the Judge assistant what happened and she told me that the wedding was canceled. I'm so happy after learning about it," he said smiling.
Catherine winced. A person's sadness is another person's happiness.
"Come on, I am going to the hospital to visit your mom. I might as well give you a ride," he offered.
"Okay. I will change my clothes first. Just come inside for the moment and make yourself at home."
Jerome obliged. He parked his motorcycle properly at the house entrance and went inside the tiny home. Catherine turns on the ceiling fan and the TV and gives the remote control to Jerome so that he can watch some shows while waiting for her.
She entered her room and change into black skinny jeans and maroon body fit blouse that hugged her curves in the right places.
When she exited the room, Jerome eyed her up and down appreciatively.
"Let's go!" he said, holding his helmet in his right hand.
Catherine turned off the ceiling fan and the TV, she closed the main door and put the padlocked in place.
"Wait, I will call Grace first," she said.
She called her cousin.
"Catherine...," replied Grace on the other line.
"Grace, how's my sibling?"
"They're doing well here at my house. Where are you-?"
"I'm going to the hospital to bring mother home. I'm with Jerome right now, he will take me to the hospital."
"Huh? Why you are with Jerome? John will get angry if he will know you are with Jerome!" Grace reminded her.
Catherine sighed. "He will go to the hospital to visit mother, so I might as well go with him since we are heading on the same way. What's wrong with that?"
"Fine. As you say so. Call me if Auntie Thelma is already home, I will bring the kids over."
"Okay. See yeah later," said Catherine.
"See yeah!" said Grace.
Catherine ended the call.
Jerome revived the engine of his motorcycle and slid the helmet over his head. Catherine slides into the motorcycle behind him, clutching at the hem of his jacket. Jerome was feeling good again to have his ladylove riding the motorcycle at his back. He navigated his motorcycle into the busy highway with a smile on his face.
Allan was following them from behind, shaking his head. The wedding was canceled and here he was following his Boss' woman riding a motorcycle with another man. Although he saw nothing wrong with it, still it's not right for a woman to continue to be friendly with her suitor if she was engaged with another guy. Any man will be flipping over if they know that their woman was spending some time with another guy. He was hesitating to report this particular incident to his boss.
