333 Ice Queen

Catherine looks like every inch an Ice Queen, she stood her ground.

"No! I want him out of your life, he might do something stupid again one day, he will break us apart again!" said Catherine. She was deeply terrified and shaken that Romeo has the real power to influence John. If he was able to gather many women to meet John, what could prevent him from doing it again in the future? The earlier that she can get rid of Romeo from John's life the better.

John was scratching his head. "Romeo would not waste his precious time finding those girls for me to meet if you never leave my side in the first place," reasoned John.

Her eyes squinted. "Huh? Are you insinuating that everything is my fault? Am I responsible for bringing those girls especially that slutty Ella into your life? Are you tolerating his actions? Or maybe you enjoyed meeting those women in the first place that is why you are not feeling angry towards your best friend? The moment you turned into a good looking guy the girls are flocking around you now. Are you enjoying those women's flirting, aggressive attention, and seduction?" she accuses him.

John released a deep sigh. "Catherine, you have to understand that if I wanted to fool around with women, I could do it with or without Romeo's help." He was being careful not to say anything that would set her on the edge of fury and madness.

"He still influenced you!" she insisted.

"The truth is you still haven't moved on yet. You still can't let go of the pain that was associated with the scene that you had seen in the pool. I was wrong to believe that you already had forgiven me. The way you acted earlier with Romeo it reminds me that your anger towards me is still alive and you are just hiding it deep inside you. That man in the living room swallowed his pride just to ask for your forgiveness, yet, what did you do? You slap him! You're acting like an immature child. That is not how adults behave, Catherine!" he chastised her.

Catherine took a deep breath. She sighed deeply. After all that she had been through, she's still the one at fault in John's eyes. What has the world gone to? All her outburst, in his eyes, he will be attributing it to her being an immature child.

He spreads his hand...

"Come with me, apologize to Romeo for slapping him, tell him that you're sorry," said John.

She continues ignoring him by focusing her attention to the nursery rhymes.

John was feeling frustrated with her lack of attention and cooperation. Her stubbornness was getting into his nerves. He walked towards the location of the TV and turn it off.

Their eyes meet.

The fire of anger was burning in her eyes.

While John's eyes were flashing with controlled annoyance.

Catherine sighed. Tonight is gonna be hellish! Unless she will do something about it.

She sat on the edge of the bed.

"Fine. I will apologize. But after I make an apology to him, you must promise me that you will fire him from his job!" she said with cold hard determination in her eyes. Tonight she must get her revenge on Romeo!

John's mouth was agape. "Here we go again! Stop saying that, how many times I told you that I can't and I won't do it! Romeo and I have been friends since our college days, he is like a brother to me. He is a good worker and a talented one. Being his employer firing him is a stupid thing to do just because my girlfriend says so. Catherine, you are asking for the impossible! Please don't be immature! Please don't give me a hard time, I'm begging you," he pleaded again.

She still won't give up.

"Who is the most important person to you? Me or Romeo?" she asked arrogantly.

John's eyes grow bigger. "What? You are going to make me choose now between you and Romeo? How childish and immature you can be? Stop the hate and revenge now before it will destroy us!" begged John.

For a few minutes, Catherine stared silently at the man that she loves with all her heart. Sad, that he can't even choose her over Romeo.

"Cath, I'm the one you are punishing here. I'm the one in the middle between you and Romeo. I'm the one having a difficult time. You are acting like a child having a tantrum. Can you please end this drama right now?" he pleaded again in a low voice.

She looked into his eyes trying to gauge where she stands in his life. "You still won't fire him?"Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please clickfor visiting.

John met her gaze unflinchingly. "You know that I won't, Cath. So you'd better apologize now and act like an adult!" he said gritting his teeth. He can still control himself and not blow up in front of her because she's pregnant, their quarrel might affect their baby.

Catherine wanted to cry but she prevented the tears from falling her face. Why can't he just indulge in her whim at least this once? She just realized now that Romeo is a very important person in John's life. If she keeps insisting that he will fire Romeo, they will never have a peace of mind in the coming days.

She meditated for a while...

What is important for her at this point in her life? Is it the happiness and satisfaction of revenge? Or the chance to live a happy, peaceful and loving relationship with John? Even if John will fire Romeo, he will be deeply saddened about it. Can she stand seeing her beloved John feeling miserable and sad every day?

"So what do you wanted me to do?" she was glaring at him.

"Go back in the living room, apologize to Romeo tell him that you regretted hitting him and tell him that you already have forgiven him about the Ella issue. End this tonight Catherine, don't let this issue sleep another day. For Christ sake, be an adult for once!" he ordered her.

Catherine swallowed back her saliva, she also swallowed her pride tonight. "Okay fine. I will apologize to him if that makes you happy," she retorted. She gets up from the bed and drags her feet into the living room. While she was walking in the hallway she shut off her hatred and then she sat down in front of Romeo with a blank face.

Romeo's face was glued to the floor.

No one is talking...

She took the first step to break the ice between them.
