After one week...
They received another text message coming from a small refreshment shop owner who got a small stall along the highway. He found a small brown pouch left by a customer with a mobile device inside and a handwritten cell number to contact the owner. The mobile device can be retrieved only during the shop's opening hours.
John instructed Ramon to retrieve the mobile device since he can't come along with him because he had a one on one conference meeting with all the managers of his hotels across the country to discuss the hotel's annual growth and developments and that would take all day long to finish. He also instructed Ramon to drop by at the hospital to pay the boys medical bill 'coz today he will be finally discharged from his one-week long confinement in the hospital.
Ramon went to the exact address of the refreshment shop and the manager who happens to be the owner as well handed the cell phone to him.
"Hmm, Sir, did you see the person who left the pouch?" Ramon asked.
The manager's brows knitted together in puzzlement. "Actually no, we have at least six customers dining here earlier, we're a bit busy during that time because people also have take out order. My wife saw the device, I just inspected the phone but did not open it and once I saw the phone number written on the piece of paper I texted you right away," answered the shop owner.
"Thank you, Sir." Upon noticing that the customers were starting to come inside the shop, Ramon decided not to disturb the manager any longer and exited the shop.
Ramon entered the vehicle, turn on the engine and navigated the car back into the busy highway, his next destination will be to the hospital.
When he arrived at the hospital George and the boy was ready to go. He paid the hospital bills and then George and the boy got inside the vehicle to see grandpa for a short reunion. After the reunion, they will soon part ways again because the boy has to be handed into the DSWD's care, which is one of the executive department by the government that deals and cater with children's welfare and promoting social development.
Under the abandoned bridge.
Grandpa and the boy reconciled for a very touching reunion, they hugged each other tightly with tears in their eyes, they talked animatedly to each other, the heart-wrenching scene touches Ramon and George's heart, tears simmered in their eyes.
Two hours later.
Allan arrived in the place, he brought with him delicious roasted chicken, rice, and cola, which he bought with his own money and they eat together, sharing the foods to the old man and the boy.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.novelhall.comfor visiting.
In a far distance hidden by the bodies of trees, one pair of eyes were staring at them for a few minutes.
A smile of satisfaction curved in his lips, then he left the area immediately.
...
Ramon arrived at the Infinity Jade Tower at 5:00 in the afternoon.
John has just finished conducting the conference with the hotel managers fifteen minutes ago. He was relaxing and sipping his coffee, his eyes were staring at the mobile device that Ramon had placed in his office table.
"This is the cell phone inside the pouch, Boss," Ramon said.
John set aside the mug and picked up the cell phone and examined it, then he powers it on, it won't open. "Charged it first, Ramon, since you and Catherine had the same phone brand."
Ramon removed the charger from his backpack and attached it on the phone and plug it in the electric socket.
While waiting for the phones charging, Ramon made his coffee and sat down on the chair facing his employer.
"Did you already brought the boy into the DSWD's care's unit?" John asked.
Ramon nodded his head. He fished out from his backpack the hospital's discharged letter and the receipt along with the remaining money and put them in the table.
John set them side and instructed Ramon to bring the phone into the table. He powered on the phone and Catherine's photo holding baby James in her arms smiling at the camera greeted his vision, John gasped in pain, he missed her so much, tears glistened in his eyes.
Ramon stood up and went inside the bathroom to give the grieving husband some private moments to compose himself and reminiscent about the past.
A few moments later, Ramon exited the bathroom. He saw that his employer was already scanning the phones messages.
"How is it, Boss?" Ramon asked.
"Her phone has not tampered, the photos and contacts were intact, the last call was between her and me. The text messages were also mostly between me and her, her family, Minerva, Grace and her twin sister. She had not established any communication with Mike ever since the last time they saw each other in the lobby of the Mystic Bay Twin Tower," John explained.
Ramon drummed his fingers on his legs. "We already have Catherine's blouse, jeans, shoes, her phone and what's next?"
John breathed deeply. "Probably her shoulder bag and wallet," he answered.
"I think you are right, Boss. And after the wallet and the shoulder bag? What's next? Will that mystery person brings back Catherine as well?" asked Ramon.
John stop examining the phone and put it back inside the brown pouch. "That's the most interesting part. He doesn't want to establish direct communication with us that is why he resorted to all this antics just to return my wife's belongings. I wonder if he will ask for ransom after he returns the wallet and the shoulder bag," he said grimly.
"He probably will," Ramon replied.
Both men enveloped by thick silence lost in their thoughts.
