The moment Xi Ana entered the Top Floor everyone felt the cold and scary aura from her as if she will skin them alive. Those who were planning to go and see her about their works instantly backed off thinking that this is not the right time.
One look is enough to know that getting on her nerves today will not do them any good, it's not like being on the Top Floor exempts them from incurring her wrath.
Xi Ana faced the bustling streets of City A from her office, the cars stuck on traffic seem so small from where she's standing and their lights looked like twinkling stars only below.
She reflected on what happened at lunch and she somewhat felt guilty, this is the first time they had a serious fight. They always come into a consensus but today was different.
While immersed in her own world, she suddenly heard a light knock from her office door. She turned around at the same time the door opened and Hannah entered her office.
"It's already late, President do you want me to send a dinner for you?" Xi Ana glanced at the digital clock on her table and realized that it's already past 8:00 pm.
From the moment they came from Lim Corporation the president never spoke unless it's necessary, her silence is scarier than anything else when it comes to dealing with her boss. She also didn't eat lunch and just cooped herself on her table continuously working and no one dared to bother her because of her foul mood.
"I don't have appetite, you can go home for today. I'll stay here for a while before going home."
Hesitantly, she went out of the office with the thought that the President must be in need of a personal space.
When the word 'home' escaped her mouth she was a bit surprised, it's been a long time since she referred a house as home. For the past few years it was only a place to stay, a place to sleep and there was never a home.
She turned and looked once again on the street full of cars and once again her mind lingered on the thoughts of Lim Yi Sheng, she chuckled then smiled bitterly. No matter how much she denies it, the presence of her husband has really grown into her.
She stayed for a few more minutes before deciding to go back home. As she reached her car, she felt something odd, that feeling as if someone is watching her every move.
With the keys on her hand, she opened the car door and entered inside of it. When she's already firmly seated, she glanced around to see if there are suspicious people around and when she saw nothing although the feeling is still there she started the ignition and drove out of the company building.
Her hands were gripping the wheel rather tightly, and even more so when she saw that a black van is tailing her. Just to clarify her ȧssumption, Xi Ana increased the speed of her driving and when she saw that the van did the same she became alert.
Gripping the steering wheel rather tightly, her already fast pace gradually became faster, she is actually not foreign to driving fast because it had became a habit of them whenever they had the time.
She turned and looked at the mirror while her speed didn't lower at all, just what could this people want from her? Are they the same people who were sent to kill her? Why? Why must it be her? Isn't all the suffering she'd been through all this years enough for them to stop? if they really wanted they could just kill her before, why prolong her suffering more.
A sudden memory came flashing back to her.
It was a cold December night, she was awaken when she felt the cold wind touched her bȧrė skin which made her shiver. She didn't know when or how, but when she was lying down on a hard surface that seems like a bench.
All she could remember was that she was on her way home walking lazily after ditching her chauffeur. Just as she was crossing the road, a speeding car loomed in front of her which made her confused as she stood still in the middle of the road.
At that moment, she felt like she was about to die, her heart was beating so fast, her feet were numb and her breathing wasn't normal yet surprisingly she was still standing there as if waiting to be hit.
'Is this how I will die?' the thought lingered in that few milliseconds but her feet remained unmoved. She closed her eyes as if readily accepting her fate.

Aren't you suppose to feel an intense pain when you're hit by car? Why isn't she feeling anything? Slowly, she opened her eyes only to be greeted by the black car only inches away from her. She didn't die but she was inches away from death.
Only then did her knees felt weak and jelly which made her fell down on her own. She stared for a long time at the car and upon closely inspecting, the car wasn't a cheap one indeed, she knew because it looked similar to those they own at home but what surprised her is that no one came down from it even though it's been a few minutes already.
When it seemed like no one is coming down, she decided to weakly crawl on the other side of the road. It's not like she wanted to make a big deal out of it. The car then drove off.
"It's just the usual, there's nothing to be scared of." she said softly to herself.
Xi Ana was pulled out of her own world when she saw a man suddenly ran in front of her speeding car, she was shocked to her very core which made her stepped on the break rather hardly. The abruptness of the stop made her body moved involuntarily due to the external force and accidentally hit her head on the steering wheel.
The pain was so sudden that she wasn't prepared for. She raised her head and saw the man who ran forward was hugging a little girl, it must have been the reason why the man suddenly ran. She heaved a deep sigh in relief, she almost ran over child.
Even though her head was hurting and she felt a little bit dizzy, she pushed open the door and struggled to get to the people which she ȧssumed are a father and daughter. The little girl was crying in her father's arm while he is stroking her back. "It's alright, honey. Daddy is here."
Hearing his words she can't help but feel a little bit of bitterness, at least this little girl has her father when this happened. She had someone to console her.
"Are you alright, sir? I'm sorry I didn't notice." her voice made the father looked up his eyes suddenly went wide which confused Xi Ana.
While carrying his daughter he asked, "I should be asking you that. Are you okay? Let's bring you to the hospital." his worried face made Xi Ana even more confused than she already is.
"I'm alright sir, I just feel a little bit dizzy. I accidentally hit my head on the steering wheel just now. It's nothing serious." the pain on her forehead suddenly surged up, she held her forehead and was surprised when she felt a sticky feeling on her palm.
"What are you saying? You're bleeding!" she heard the man said but before she could see her palm to see what was that sticky liquid, she felt as though her world was spinning.
