50 A freaking nightmare

Greg struggled to his feet. As if in a fog, he went to the car. There was a strange buzzing in his ears, and his eyes refused to believe what they were seeing. One glance was enough for his heart to leap and stop in his chest. Under the car was a mess. Even the hand that stuck out on the side was broken. The face turned towards him was utterly unrecognizable. wounds everywhere, bones sticking out in a few places and blood. So much blood... One leg, unnaturally arched, stuck under the left wheel. Only by blood foaming on the face could one understand that the boy was still breathing. In the army, Greg saw a lot of scary, horrifying things and there was no need to be an expert to realize that Nicky had almost no chance for survival.

Greg turned, looking for Lana. She no longer screamed. The big, empty eyes blankly stared at her son.

Frank came running from the other side. One glance was enough to let out a sob of horror. There were no words.

Greg reached for Lana. It was necessary to take her aside, call an ambulance and rescuers ... Damn!

Thoughts jumbled in his head, confusing. His heart pounded. It could not happen. It was all just a dream! A freaking nightmare!

As soon as he grabbed the shoulder of the girl, she seemed to come out of a trance. Twisting in one motion, she rose and turned around in search of her daughter. Vicky stood, held back by Frank. A rain of tears slid over her face, and her shoulders shook shallowly.

" Vicky, pull yourself together! We don't have time!" - Lana threw in a hoarse but firm voice. - "We need to get him out!"

When Vicki finally focused and nodded, Lana turned to Greg. He stared at her blankly.

"Lana, calm down, please. We need to call..."

" No. Don't call anyone." - She snapped. Her eyes were cold, and steel sounded in every word. -" We will raise the car, and you have to pull him out. You're with me?"

"Lana, wait, we can't do that. We only harm him!" - Greg tried to reason with her, coming closer. But the girl stopped him with a gesture.

" Greg, either you now trust me and do as I say, or leave!" - She stated. Frank also came closer and wanted to say something, but Vicky at this moment twisted out of his hands and approached the car together with her mother. Not paying attention to the shaky driver, both girls griped a dented bumper, looking for a place to grab hold of more comfortably. It was just insane. Frank tried to stop them.

"Vicky, Lana. Take it easy. We won't help like this. That's ridiculous." - He began, grabbing Victoria by the shoulder. But she didn't even turn around, pushing the man aside. Frank flew to the ground like a rag doll.

Greg couldn't believe his eyes. Two fragile girls finally found a comfortable grip, pulled up and a big pick-up began to rise. It was just insane. He had no other choice but to get on his knees, grab hold of Nick's clothes to try to pull him out as gently as possible as not to cause unnecessary injuries. Frank, coming to himself, also rushed to help. Both of them tried to ignore somehow the crazy fact that two girls were holding all this iron over their heads. In four hands, they finally managed to get the guy out completely. The pickup immediately went down, and the women were already rushing towards them.

"Frank, is your car somewhere nearby?" - Without looking up from her son, threw Lana over her shoulder. Frank grunted something in the affirmative, still not taking his eyes off the kid. It was difficult to understand how in this broken body there is still life glimmering.

"Then get it here." - Ordered Lana then glanced at her daughter, and nodded shortly. Vicki knew right away what her mother meant, and, rising, walked towards Frank. He wanted to protest again, but Vicky grabbed a man twice her size by the arm and pulled him away like a small child.

"Lana, listen, you should calm down. I was in the army and saw a lot. We really can damage ... " - crouching beside her, Greg began to persuade her quietly.

"Shut up, Greg. You haven't seen anything like this. So, if you want to help, just do as I say." - The words were quiet and confident. Lana suddenly glanced up from her son and looked straight into his eyes. Greg did not immediately understand what made him tense up. Perception simply did not want to be aware of what he was seeing. Instead of the familiar blue eyes, the eyes of a predator with narrow pupils, full of anger and threats, looked directly at him.

At that moment, Frank's car stopped nearby, and Vick flew out, opening the back door for them. Lana tore her eyes from Greg, and without another word, lifted her son in her arms. Greg remained sitting on the ground, stupidly following with his eyes the small figure of the girl with ease carrying the body of an almost two-meter guy in her arms.

Only having caught the same glassy eyes of a friend, he seemed to begin to recover. Now there was no time for questions. There was no time to wonder what the hell is going on. The boy was dying, no time to waste on this hallucination. Cause it freaking should be a collective hallucination!

Greg ran around the car and took the passenger seat near Frank. Judging by Frank's serious expression, he should have made a similar decision. Sitting in the backseat, Lana quickly told the address and Frank, without hesitation, started in the right direction.

"The temperature is rising," - Lana said, breaking the silence. - "Vicki, call Kiki and the doctor."

Vicky coursed.

"Mum, my phone is out." -she admitted, in a crying voice.

" Tell me the number?" - Without any questions, Greg turned to them.

Lana told him the number, and he put the call on speaker. In just two beeps from that side, a melodious female voice was heard.

" Shelter and veterinary clinic "Good boy." Hello, how can I help you?" - She sang cheerfully.

Greg finally gave up. It was just absurd. Just a dream, and he did not care anymore. Call ballerinas and elephants, why the hell not! This situation couldn't get more ridiculous.

Despite this, Lana responded in a steady voice.

"I need department number six," - the girl immediately switched them and on the other side a male voice greeted them, Lana continued.

"We had an accident. My son was hit by a car. He suffered a lot of damage, we are on the way."

" Ok, got it." - the operator answered shortly. - "I need a name, age, type and affiliation."

"Nicholas Benne, 20 years old, wolf, we are loners, under the supervision of Kiki."

"Where did it happen, are there any witnesses?" - the man continued to interrogate.

Lana dictated the address and briefly described what happened.

"Okay, the cleaning team is on the way. We will also inform Kiki. What is the condition of the patient now?"

" The temperature is rising, but he has not moved yet." - Lana reported this strange information again.

"Is he tied?" - Not at all surprised, the operator asked.

Greg no longer had the strength to wonder. Indeed, why not tie a guy who looked like a piece of chop and barely breathing?! This will help him a lot!

" No, we didn't have chains with us." - Without batting an eye, answered Lana.

Greg caught Frank's stare. His eyes were tired and completely empty. There were no more questions. They should be either high or wasted, no other option...
