The discussion went on until late at night. Vicki was already snoozing on the couch, curled up and resting her head on her brother's knee. Niki tried his best to keep his eyes open, but fatigue and painful weakness took over. Therefore, as soon as Lana started to persuade him to go to rest, the guy this time without protest lifted his sister in his arms and went to the bedroom.
Frank first actively participated in the discussion-dispute, and then, when it became more like an altercation of two hard-headed mulls, he leaned back in his chair and just watched.
After some time, even sudden growling, grumbling and snapping from Lana not only stopped scaring him but even a little amused. Frank immediately noticed with what pleasure Greg provoke the girl. She still did not quite understood that in this way he not only received the information he needed but also satisfied his strange inclinations. Greg loved to annoy people. And the angry face of Lana apparently gave him particular pleasure. Frank shook his head, carefully suppressing a grin.
"Okay, I guess I'll go. Otherwise, I begin to feel like an odd one at this celebration of life," - he announced, heading for the door. Before he could even take two steps, the girl's thin, but surprisingly strong fingers clung to his hand.
"No, Frank, you can't do this to me!" - screamed Lana, settling her feet on the floor and not allowing him to move. - "Tell him!" - She demanded, looking at Frank imploringly. Still, werewolves with puppy eyes are no fair game.
"Lana," - Frank tried to wriggle out, - "I'm sorry, but I'm on Greg's side. If you do not want to quit your job, then at least agree to guard and move with Greg. So it will be safer. Think for yourself, the children will be under constant supervision, and even at home, they will be safe. It's not so easy to climb on the top floor."
"That's just the point," -Lana nearly wailed,- "We can't live in this penthouse. And how will I work with the guards? What kind of circus will it be? They look weirdly even now because of Greg. What would happen, if a dishwasher will waltz in with her security guys? It's crazy."
"Well, firstly, I'm sure that if you ask, Greg will behave decently. You will just be like neighbors, temporarily." - Frank tried to enter from the other side.
" I do not promise anything." - immediately put Greg, not paying attention to the angry glance of a friend.
"And secondly," - Frank continued, trying to wrap up a new round of controversy.- "While you are at work, no one will even notice your guards. My security service guys are not small children. We know our game."
"Okay, I agree to guard." - Finally, Lana agreed, - "But I will not live with him. And it's not about harassment. I can stand up for myself." - In confirmation, Lana bared her very impressive fangs toward Greg and snapped them. To which he laughed merrily, beckoning her with his finger.
"Lana, I don't understand," - Frank said, muffling the girl's irritable snarl. - "Since you can handle it, then what bothers you?"
"Damn, I'm telling you. We can't live on the top floor. And not one werewolf can. We don't tolerate heights and elevators. No way." - Lana finally admitted, gritting her teeth. Frank, out of surprise, had even halted attempting to leave.
"How so?" - Greg raised eyebrows rising.
"Easily!" - she snapped, trying hard to avoid his interested gaze.
"You mean terrible big werewolves ..."
The phrase was interrupted by Lana's roar. Greg immediately raised his hands as a sign that he was giving up, but he forgot to wipe the wide smile from his face. Or not ... Frank just sighed sorrowfully, rolling his eyes at this couple. How good it was when they only danced uncertainly around each other.
"Okay, let's do that. I will deal with the guard myself. And let's talk about housing tomorrow. Today, I will ask my guys to watch the building and monitor on the floor." - Frank drew a line.
"And I'll monitor from the inside," -Greg said, clearly enjoying the situation.
"You try something funny, and your buns will not be safe." - narrowing her eyes, Lana snarled.
"Promises promises ..." - Greg practically sang, prompting a new roar from Lana.
Frank did not turn around, seizing the moment, escaped from the capture of the girl and not looking back, rushed to the door.
Someone today was obviously pushing his luck, and he was not ready to observe the consequences.
