PRECAP
"What is wrong with me??"
Lana implored, opening her eyes fully this time. Madison was a bit taken aback by how she was talking to her so nicely without getting angry at what she had done before.
"You fainted and we bought you to the hospital...here!"
Madison replied, running her fingers through Lana's thick blonde hair. Lana hummed.
"We?? Is my brother here??"
Madi nodded and it was at that moment, John chose to get in too. He was anxious about how might she react to seeing him but then when she did not say anything at all and saw how Madi was sitting close to her, he stepped inside.
"Brother!"
Lana greeted in her small, smiling at John. And it was weird for both duos to see her reacting as if nothing had happened before...as if she did not know the truth or forgot it?

Madi woke from her deep slumber when she heard the door opening. In came, John with a duffle bag and got case tiffin.
Madison sat upright. She had been laying on the edge of Lana's bed, sitting on the stool near the bed.
He handed her a phone, taking it out of his pants pocket. Madison thanked him in a whisper and kept the phone aside.
"She is sleeping."
He said, looking over at his sister who was sleeping peacefully. Madison told him that she was under medication.
"I bought a homemade latte. You can have it from the flask. There is a paper cup in there."
He offered. Madison went to the attached washroom to get freshened up and when she returned, John had poured her the cup of latte. She thanked him.
"Did they carry out all the tests?"
He asked and Madi nodded, sipping a little from her paper cup. Last night had been tiring with leading Lana to help her take all the tests.
"She was all good but the last one drained her all the energy. She was not to eat anything so it exhausted her."
Madi elaborated. John sighed. With that being said, there was nothing more to talk about.
"Oh, and you might want to check your phone. Tinsley had been calling you."
John remembered. Madison closed her eyes and picked her cell up. Swiping it unlock, she saw the numbers of missed calls and texts from Tinsley. Not to mention, a few were from Kian too.
"What is it?"
John implored Madison did not bother saying it to him anything and was about to walk out and check up on Tinsley but the door hung opened and in came the doctor with the nurse.
"Morning, Mr Kravinshky! Miss Maria."
She greeted them both and Madi kept her phone aside as they got ready to hear about the test reports of Lana.
All they could hope for at that it was not back again. She kept her fingers crossed and looked over at Lana, who was still sleeping.
"If you want, we can talk in my office?"
The doctor offered when she followed Madi's gaze. John shrugged it off.
"I think we are fine here if the news is all good..."
"I m afraid it is not, Mr Kravinshky."
The doctor interrupted John right away and it made both him and Madi peek at into the eyes of each other, anxiously.
"And worry not, Ms Lana will not wake up for another hour. She had been sedated last night. "
Both Madi and John signalled the doctor to go on with declaring the test results. The nurse handed her the file.
"It is back. I m sorry to state that, Mr Kravinshky."
The doctor kept her words straight and forward, without wasting any of their time.
A small gasp left Madison's mouth and John closed his eyes, disappointed. The doctor continued, further.
"We will have to put Ms Lana back on her previous medications and treatment. According to the report, this time, the infection is a bit serious. If not recovered with the current treatments, then I suggest of surgery and a possible organ transplant. "
The Doctor concluded and Madison almost lost her balance if not for John holding her steady, standing beside her.
"I know it is too much information for anyone in a time. But with the limited time that we have, acting on it will result in us well...and I will urge you, Mr Kravinsky to start looking for a donor that is matching with your sister. "
John nodded. He was going to get his sister through this too. He internally promised himself.
He was just upset that the last moment they had before her sickness was of her discovering about the grave betrayal that he had caused her of.
"Stomach transplants are risky and very rare, Mr Kravinshky. If not for you is a wealthy man, I would have not recommended it to anyone at all. Finding a match is just the very hardest part here so I will suggest for you to start looking for it sooner than later."
The doctor advised. With that saying, they were possibly going to test Lana more and so she would have to stay back in.
Once the doctor was out, alone tear spurted out from Madi's eyes as she glanced over at her girlfriend.
She was so good. She was too good, naive and innocent at heart, why did she have to suffer like that?
"Hey? Madison...everything is going to be fine. We will get through this together. "
He held her hands in his and she broke down, trying to muffle her sobs in. She could have never thought that she would have to see Lana in such a condition ever.
"All I...can think is...what I did to her...when she was going through so much...there is no forgiveness for me...for what I did to her..."
Madi cried out, as grief and guilt enveloped her entire form. She could never live being like this in peace if her doing affected Lana's health.
John was about to correct her that it had nothing to do with what she had done...with what both had done at all.
It was faith. Lana had to go through all this as a part of her destiny just like their mother had to too.
Lana was very small at that time, but he remembered how their mother had suffered from the same disease later on it ended with giving up on her life.
It was what had caused their father to lose his will to go on with life either. Being high school sweethearts, losing their mother, his wife to such a heinous disease despite having the money for every kind of treatment in the world.
Madison pushed John away, not being able to stay in that room anymore. She ran out through the door. It suffocated her to be there.
John did not stop her knowing what she might have been going through all at once right at that moment.
He sighed and strode forward to get a clear look at his baby sister. He was so sorry to what he had done to her although it was totally unintentional but nothing could ever justify his action...their action.
Meanwhile, out in the lobby, Madison kept running as if her body was on living fire. She thrashed through the nurse, the patients on the way, and did not care to look back at them.
Her mind could only think of one thing and that was what she had done to Lana. She could not let that horrified, terrified, and heartbroken face of betrayal and hurt of Lana from inside her head.
How she had asked her to stop saying anything coming from that mouth and rejected being close to her.
What if when she was out from the stance of the medication and remembered what she had done??
How would she react then and would it be good for her health right now considering the crisis she was in??
She only stopped when she saw someone, she had never thought of seeing at the moment...Kian Randall.
He stood by the corner, turning of the lobby end and when their eyes matched, she stopped on her track altogether.
He looked no good...he looked as if he was done with life and they were at the same time bloodshot red too as if he was angry...anger at someone for having done something against of him.
Kian did not wait any more time in California. He was back the very next second with his jet to Richmond to get answers.
