The sound of the utensils vibrated as Tinsley spurred outside of the very busy kitchen, just giving the chef details about one of the customers.
Beth smiled at her, folding the napkins inside. She smiled back and closed the steel door behind her, getting out of the lobby to the main area to take up more order.
She touched her bump, now very visible by anyone. All the customers so far who's table she had served, congratulated her.
"You are glowing as usual!"
Kyle complimented her, tainting her cheeks with rosy paints. It looked more prominent now that it was winter.
"Maybe because everyone well wished for my Ava dolly!"
Tinsley replied, touching her bulged out belly with so much affection. And Kyle smiled at her.
"Honestly, I m looking forward too to seeing how our Ava dolly would look like...or have that red hair like her mother or not...?"
Kyle remarked, handing her the notepad to carry on with her work. She took it from him and walked away to get other orders.
"Good evening folks, what would you like to have today?"
She put on a big smile for the customer, standing before the table with her pen and notepad ready to jot down their order.
Serving the first table, moving to the other one and then to the next one. It always started with her showcasing the big happy bright smile and sometimes, she would feel her cheeks paining from smiling so much.
"Good evening folks...oops! Sorry! Sir..."
When she saw the man, who he was...her smile fell from her face. It was like the sun shining brightly until the moon hid it behind itself, during the solar eclipse.
Kian looked up, his eyes peeking into hers. He had been watching her throughout the night going from table to table with a smile as bright as the stars.
And he had also observed her blushing to the minimal talks of that young bartender, protectively holding her bump.
He could not help the jealousy that coursed through his nerves as he saw her conversing so gracefully with a man that was not him.
She did not know what to say...what to do either. Turn her back and strode away or treat him like any other customer?
"What are you doing here?"
"What were you doing blushing before that teenager?"
It came out at the same time from both sides and the silence was quick to seep in.
He closed his eyes, sighing for he had not thought that it would be the first thing he would throw in her way.
"Can we talk? ....somewhere private?"
He added, at last, looking around, hoping that she would understand. She licked her lips as it got dry and he could not part his eyes off from that action.
"I m not over my shift."
She excused herself, thinking that he would leave. She did not even know why he was back once again to wreck her life, snatch away her peace.
"I m willing to wait right here till you are done."
He let out and Tinsley raised her eyebrows at him, not liking the sound of it. She just turned her back and left him to sulk there all by himself.
Kyle noticed the eerieness in Tinsley's face as she came up to the bar, dropping the notepad with a list of orders noted down on it.
"What happened?? The man did not well wish for our Ava dolly?"
He implored, trying to amuse her up. She shook her head and when her eyes fell upon him, sitting three tables away, still looking in her direction, shamelessly, his palms curled into a fist, resting on the table.
"I will take the orders in the kitchen."
She said and walked away and out from his gaze. Her back disappeared inside that steel door as it closed behind her.
She came back after a fair good five minutes and stood on the threshold of the door, looking around to see if he was still there and when those grey pairs matched with her evergreen ones, she sighed in disappointment.
He was not going anywhere. She should have known how firm his words by now, living with him for a good number of months as husband and wife.
She parted her eyes from his and resumed with her work, going around tables, smiling at them, jotting down their orders on her small notepad.
Every time, the entire evening, she could feel his hot glances behind her back as he watched her throughout the night.
"What with that man having nothing on his table yet?"
Sandra, the manager questioned her and she was bound to walk up to him with a glass of water and drop it hard before him.
"What do you want to eat?"
She forcefully asked him, not wanting to be in his presence at all. But she did not want to lose her job at this point now.
"You know what I like!"
He said, still holding his gaze strictly on her. She rolled her eyes at him and sassily replied.
"I do not know..."
"Of course you do!"
Kian stopped her and she narrowed her gaze at him, not liking at all how calm he was behaving when she was well aware of how short patient and tempered he was...
"I don't..."
"You... it's you! "
He let out and she took a deep breath. He hoped that she would at least listen to what he had to say.
She had no idea how to respond to that remark and so she just decided to turn around and leave but he held her back, holding onto her wrist.
"I m not leaving till we talk..."
He pressed, holding her steady and not giving her any space to leave. She pulled her hand away from his hold.
"There is nothing to talk about. "
"There is, you know that there is..."
"There is not anything for to talk about..."
Tinsley stood on her ground and it was his time up for the patience he was holding onto. He had always been a volatile man.
"Yes...we will talk and unless you want me to take you out over my shoulder...you will oblige to me!"
Kian gritted his teeth. He was boiling so much here watching men almost throwing themselves at her. Especially that bartender...fucker would not stop talking to her every time she would stop by at the bar.
"You would not dare!"
Tinsley dared him, looking around the people, eating, talking in the diner. He would not dare to do as he wished in a place like this for sure, she thought to herself.
"Try me, wife!"
He smirked at her and when he did not blink, she knew that his psychotic ass would not mind creating a scene even in her workplace.
She licked her lips that kept getting dry, being distressed. A habit of her she would do when being tensed, facing situations she was not aware of...not knowing how to deal with it.
"Leave my hand..."
She asked him, yet he did not budge and resumed holding onto her wrist. She sighed...tired of his stubbornness.
"Leave so that we can leave...after I sign out for the night!"
And instantly, he let go of her hand. She turned around to drop her apron on the desk beside the bar.
"What happened?"
Kyle implored, getting concerned. He had seen the intense talk Tinsley and that man had. Who was he?
"I m taking an early off tonight!"
Tin replied, wearing her apron off and dropping it on the desk. Kyle collected it for her to return to the office later.
"But why?"
"Something came up!"
Tin said, hurriedly wearing her leather coat and picking her handbag. Kyle could see that something was up between her and that man.
"Who is he?"
She did not listen to him as she was out the next moment and onto Kian's table. He stood up and they both left, not before he turned back a little to glare at Kyle, putting his hand around Tin's waist as they strode out.
He just wanted to let that young boy see who she belonged to. She was always his, no matter what.
It alarmed Kyle watching Tin walking out with a man, who he was very suspicious about from the moment her smile faltered, serving his table.
He untied his apron too and got out of the bar to check out if the man was forcing her to go with him in any way.
Kian opened the door for her as she got out. Closing it behind, he could see Kyle coming onto them and Kian took that moment, to push Tinsley onto the nearby wall out of nowhere and slammed his lips against hers.
She moaned out not expected that at all. Kyle came onto them...kissing and he did not know what to do.
"Hey?? What are you doing?? Leave her!!"
He tried to pull Kian off of her and Kian turned around to land a hard fist against his face...knocking him down on the concrete. Tinsley screamed out.
"Stay the fuck away from my wife!!"
