Sitting all by herself, ideal, her feet dangling from the high chair as she waited for her husband's guard in watch to return with the foods, she had been craving.
Kian had left Drake in search of the two pregnant women and it was not something he was trained to do.
He was Kian's most trusted man in command. Even when Kian had lost everything and could not afford any guards, Drake stayed back in his service without pay for whole four to five months.
He could not leave his wife in such a crucial stage like that all alone. So if she did not like his presence around herself, he needed to find other ways through which he could take care of her needs.
So he had left Drake behind that night, stationed at Jessica's house. Kian had a brief talk with the old woman about the entire ordeal before leaving.
So when Tinsley screamed out after returning home, searching for her husband who appeared to have left her.
It was at that moment, a knock on the door was heard and how Tinsley went silent altogether, wondering if it was him...and he had not left but she thought him to be?
So when she stood up and quickly opened the door, appeared Drake on her doorstep with Jessica...that morning at four am.
Explaining everything to her, Jessica tried to console her but each word fell into Tinsley's deaf ears. She was too moved to get any of it.
All she could think was why did he come back only to run away once again??
Why did he have to show that he cared?
As she would watch Drake cooking, cleansing around her small studio apartment, she could not help but see him...just a few days ago, doing the same thing.
Beth had become her guest for a few days too by that time. Drake was given orders to look after Beth too and it was quite difficult to look after two heavenly pregnant women to and fro so Beth made it easier for the poor man by moving in with Tin.
And for that Tinsley was glad. She could not live alone with a stranger, working in her house as if she did not live there.
All Drake would do was working and no words were to be spoken as he did not
himself know what else to say.
Tinsley had been giving him a very hard time, thinking he would quit and that irritating husband of her would have to appear for her once again.
She had not left one chance or gone one minute without throwing a tantrum and it was only Beth who became a source of comfort for the poor man in duty.
She would make him work twice and then again pour water all over his labour just to get in his nerves but what she did not know was that he was trained to work.
"Here is your peri peri chicken, ma'am!"
He offered her, walking straight from the counter in her direction. Beth had her fruit punch in her hold and stood beside Drake.
Tinsley with a bored expression snatched the packet from him, bought the chicken to her nose to smell and acted gagging. She pushed the pack back to Drake's hold.
"I can't have this... it's stinky!"
She nagged and Beth knew that she was acting. But poor Drake! He could not do anything about it.
"I bought it straight from being cooked, ma'am. Look it's even got!"
Drake tried to reason. Beth eyed Tinsley to take it easy but the woman had promised to give him hard time. He would have to pay for her husband's elopement.
"I did not lose my senses either but my pregnant nose can't bear the smell. Get me one of these that's Beth having!"
Tinsley said, and Drake looked at the counter. The line was never-ending. He had a hard time, ordering the peri peri chicken in the first place.
"You can have mine here...I will have the peri peri!"
Beth offered and Drake mentally thanked this kind woman, who had tried to make things a bit easier for him but Tinsley had other plans.
"No...I want one fresh..."
She shook her head like a kid. Drake sighed. He really was on the verge of quitting but he could not when he came so far...only a month left before the delivery. He could not quit then.
"I can wait here....go now!"
Tinsley shooed him and he turned around to get her second order for the day wishing she would not make him get another after this because this had become her way of torturing on daily basis.
"You have to spare the man for someday."
Beth remarked, sitting beside her eating the peri-peri and sipping the fruit punch.
"What did I do?"
Tinsley feigned innocence, and took one chicken from the pack, making Beth glare at her.
"What?? I need the fruit punch too!"
She said, trying to act like she did not just eat the chicken when a second ago, she was complaining about its smell.
"Were you not complaining about the smell a minute ago??"
Beth implored and Tinsley did not respond to that. It had been confirmed that she was pretending all of it just to get on his nerves.
"Just so you know..."
"Know what?"
Tinsley interrupted Beth, looking in her way. Beth smiled and answered.
"You are punishing the wrong guy!"
It hit hard. It made Tinsley think hard...everything around her got frozen and so did in his world.
He had been on a world tour, visiting all the newly built headquarters in Asia and Europe.
He had missed a lot of work catering for his wife's needs, becoming her personal caretaker the last month.
And now he was working twenty-four multiplied by seven around the clock, day and night to catch up and also because he knew that once the baby would arrive, he would need a paternal break to look after the mother and their child.
It was a necessity, it had become his priority. From Drake, he was getting her reports every second and he even felt pity for Drake. He was just thankful that Drake had not quit just yet.
He knew what her intentions were. And he could not help but want to go back yet he could not bring it to himself...he could not dare to show his face after what had happened.
Madison had gone missing in action after Lana's admittance to the hospital and John had been busy so most of the work had come under his jurisdiction.
So here, he was visiting each one of the headquarters, looking through the industries, making sure the products would be fine. He did not want a bad name in just a year of starting.
Because if he miscued a loss, there was a line of investors whom he would have to pay back and he could not manage to do so without going bankrupt.
So he personally dropped by to check the lines. He could not take risks at this point, coming so far...he could not risk tainting his name more than once in the business world.
And there, his wife was being a brat, not understanding his situation, neither giving him peace of mind to work flawlessly where he was without being worried about her not even for a second.
Before he had inserted a chip on Drake and he could see her im his laptop, anytime he wished and he could not but feel the want to fly back and spank her ass red for being such an untamed brat.
Despite all these, he had made sure to visit Madi and Lana once and things were changing for the better for both of them.
They had decided to do a small intimate wedding due to Lana's fragile health and for Tinsley's sake, they had postponed the wedding by three weeks so that after the baby was born, both Tinsley and her small daughter could attend the wedding.
It was upon Lana's request. She could not have a wedding Tinsley and the latter was too heavily pregnant to be able to travel at this point in time so they had decided to wait and go for the transplant right after the wedding.
Madi tried to reason with Lana that they could have the transplant first and then the wedding but Lana was being stubborn, there was no chance that she might survive this operation so she did not want to take a chance.
She was going to get married first and then only she would go for an operation. And that was settled.
Everyone was waiting eagerly for the baby to pop out anytime at this point and the excitement was to the neck.
Kian, after successfully settling the deal with the Seikh, he came out and Thea followed him. Nathan was behind.
"I heard you are taking a leave from next month, why?"
She asked. He had just gotten back from God know where and was leaving once again.
"My wife and I are expecting."
He answered.
