Chapter 108 - Her Highness's Armour!

Maya frowns 'How can you say that?'.

Bhommi explains "These people are ignorant of the reserve battalion of soldiers waiting for them to attack".

Celina comes running towards Maya "Madam! How did you get out?!".

Maya is taken aback and asks confused "Get out from where? I wasn't imprisoned, was I?".

Celina purses her lips and manages "I mean..When did you go out?".

Maya speaks "We don't have time for that investigation. Let me see The General In charge at once. I have to ask him something !".

"I have already met The Emperor's Chief Servant Victor".

Sarah walks towards them answering Maya.

Bhommi rolls her eyes and mocks displeased "Look at her tone! As if she is the General! She always fails to behave like a servant! Don't you think so, Sister Maya?!'

Maya ignores Bhommi's complaint and asks looking towards Sarah "What did he tell?".

Sarah states "His Excellency asked you to just rest. Seems, this wouldn't be a serious war".

Maya creases her eyebrows "His Excellency?".

'New word! I know when to use His Highness..His Majesty..but what's this His Excellency now? Why can't they use simple words to mention them?! How bothersome!'.

Sarah smiles "We have to address the higher officials with this title. Though they are not Royal by birth, they have the equal power in this country after the Emperor's family".

Maya nods at the new information and asks "Can I meet him?".

Bhommi fumes "Sister Maya! Just ignore her and go meet that old man! Why are you asking her?!".

Maya purses her lips 'Can you not eat my brain by yelling loudly?!'

While Maya was mentally speaking to Bhommi, Sarah nods "You can. Let me inform him that you want to see him".

Maya chuckles "I am not disabled, Sarah. Just take me there. However, he might be engaged with his own works".

Sarah couldn't help but lead Maya silently. She gestures Celina to stay there before leaving.

Even though Sarah leads the way, she couldn't help wonder "Do you want to know anything?".

Maya looks at Sarah confused.

Sarah asks "I might be crossing my limits. But why do you want to meet The Emperor's Chief Servant?".

Maya states "I am just curious to see what happens during a war. I have never seen how it would be like".

Sarah smiles and simply guides Maya.

'She is really very fast learner! I have been noticing her practicing Archery! Jesus Christ! She already become an expert! I wonder whether these soldiers could compete with her! It's unfortunate that she didn't belong to Royal family. If not for her birth, no one could look down on her!'.

As soon as Maya reaches the Entrance of The Countryside Pavilion, Maya gets astonished.

'Where is that big Entrance?!'.

She looks around in shock as the whole place has been entirely changed!

'Where did the beautiful statues go?! They just disappeared!'.

"Hail The Queen of The Northern Country!".

As soon as the words escaped from The Emperor's Chief Servant Victor, Maya looks at him surprised.

'I know this person!'.

THUD

LOUD NOISE OF EVERYONE KNEELING AND GREETING AT ONCE IN UNISON!

"Hail The Queen of The Northern Country!".

Maya stands dumbly 'Everyone were fine till now! Why are they kneeling in front of me suddenly?! Did I do mistake by coming here? Should I have called the General alone instead?'.

Sarah whispers "Tell them to raise".

Maya nods and announces "Please raise! And do continue your duties. No need to mind my presence".

With that sentence, everyone of the soldiers stood and got back to their assigned duties.

Victor smiles while walking towards Maya "I hope Madam has been well".

Maya nods with a smile "I have been Sir".

Victor notices Maya's nervousness and answers her before she asks "The war is against some unknown riots. We have been investigating about their origin but it's still unknown. Would you like to know anything else, Your Highness?".

Maya "..." Could he read my mind?! Is it true that the mind readers exist?! If so, he could find everything easily -

Bhommi scoffs "Stop ruining your image in front of him, Sister Maya! He sounds genuine.  He can't read minds and however, your face doesn't hide anything generally!".

Maya ".." Is that so?

Suddenly she realises that Victor is noticing everything seriously.

Maya asks "Can I ..be here? I haven't witnessed any war..".

Sarah frowns 'What is she doing? Why is she staying here instead of being in her chamber safely?!'.

Victor bows with a smile "Your Highness can order this servant anything. But The Queen should be protected in a safe place. I can't afford to allow your presence in here".

He warns with a serious intimidating tone as if trying to scare her "Anything can happen here".

Bhommi rolls her eyes "Just tell him about the reserve battalion of soldiers waiting out there, Sister Maya".

Maya asks Victor "How about I stay here with you, Sir? I want to know...something about war. If anything happens, you would protect me, wouldn't you?".

Victor smirks proudly "I would protect The Queen with my life".

He looks at Sarah and orders "Bring Her Highness's' armour. Let me help her to watch the war closely".

Sarah nods and leaves the place immediately.

Maya didn't notice Victor's order as she is engrossed in a single thought. Subconsciously, she recalls Xavier's promise.

'I would protect you with my life, My Lady'.

Maya feels herself smiling and looks at Victor who was looking at some map in his hand seriously.

Maya tries to take a look at it and realizes it is the map of the Countryside Pavilion.

Victor asks "Would you like to know about the strategies of war, Your Highness?".

Maya nods back curiously.

Victor states "We are inside our Fort and we will attack them from inside. Due to the high altitude of our Pavilion, we could easily attack the enemies".

Maya asks confused "But why should we fight from inside? Don't this place have the soldiers?".
