Chapter 135 - Mysterious Knocks!

Maya walks to and fro inside her chamber in deep thoughts.

'If I tell him about this Cold Prison, would he hear me in the first place? Even if he did, would he really take this as serious problem? Many things are happening in this country now and I doubt he would hear me or even think about this in the first place. He might think that I am mad. But... He might believe me as he too has some powers...Still I don't want to believe or include him in this matter but something is warning me...not to do so'.

She recalls her visit to the future and creases her eyebrows 'What if I don't involve him now? Why would I want to meet myself? To stop myself from doing this particularly?  Or was that only about the closing the Cold Prison earlier? If I had a chance to stop everything from happening then I might have chosen to go to the point where I opened the Cold Prison! I could have prevented that from happening! But why did I decide to meet myself only after I broke the lock? Was it intended? Or was there no choice of choosing the right time-'.

KNOCK!

Maya comes out from from her thoughts and looks at the door.

The sound was faint yet she didn't fail to hear it. Never doubt her ability in hearing!

She only then realizes how long she has been locked herself in that chamber. She knew that no one would disturb her after her order. Even though Sarah and Celina were the closest to her, they wouldn't dare to cross the thick line which was between them.

After all she is The Queen of The Northern Realm!

Seeing the darkness outside through the window of her chamber, she frowns "No one disturbed me since I ordered so. Now who is knocking the door?".

She walks towards the door and opens it slowly. She expected that she would see Sarah or Celina as she thought that they might be the ones who knocked the door. It's about time to eat her dinner.

But they weren't standing in front of the door. Instead they were sitting on the wooden bench which is for the servant to sleep, who has the duty to serve the Queen at every nights.

As soon as the door opened, Sarah and Celina who were sitting outside the chamber door stands nervously.

Sarah notices Maya's frown and asks worriedly "Are you alright? You look worried".

Maya shakes her head concealing her emotions and asks "Can you do something for me?".

Sarah nods with a faint smile "I will".

Maya states "I need to know every places around here so that I don't lose my way in future".

'I need to know everything...Let me accustomed with the places first..'.

Sarah asks hesitating "Can I take you tomorrow? It's already time to sleep. ...Shall I set the dinner?".

Maya nods silently and waits for both Celina and Sarah to set the dinner.

After Maya has finished her dinner with Sarah and Celina, she is left alone for the night to sleep.

Maya is again lost in thoughts 'I have to find my Core Element of Power too'.

She frowns and realizes something new this time 'I wonder why can't I remember anything after losing my control over my mind. Except killing someone. I remember every inch of fear on their faces but nothing about me! It feels like I am not me anymore. There is some point after which I can't have control over my memories..I remember how Stephen and those soldiers died.. I don't remember the memories of me before I get back to the reality...'.

She looks around the dark room and stands with a heavy sigh 'Before knowing about other problems, I should know myself. For this entire week, I feel very normal even after that injury. It's never like this before! In the past I couldn't touch anything other than my clothes that I wear if I was injured. As things would be broken or destroyed by my mere touch! Everything is changing...I feel My Powers are changing or evolving. I can't predict anything anymore...First ..I have to find my Core Element and the limitations of my power-'.

KNOCK!

Maya creases her eyebrows suspiciously hearing the knocking sound.

'This is not the girls. They won't interrupt my sleep at this time'.

She looks at the door darkly and walks without any hesitation or fear. She opens the door slowly as Celina would be sleeping outside her chamber that night. She rolls her eyes finding no one like before and sighs 'Who is trying to irk me now?'.

Maya looks ahead and notices someone walking in the corridor opposite to her chamber and steps out curiously. Because she knows who it is. The person was in disguise but she found him easily because she has met him few times personally!

'The Emperor's Servant Victor? At this time?'.

'Why would he disguise himself even after entering the Palace?'.

She walks in her corridor in parallel to him subconsciously. She finds the servants guarding the Royal Chambers bowing after noticing her and purses her lips awkwardly. She hides her urge to scream at herself.

'I wanted to follow him without knowing anyone!! Here I am getting the greetings from every single soldier!!'.

She whines defeated and walks back to her chamber.

'I should have given the Power of Invisibility too! Now I can't even hide from anyone ever after having My Powers!'.

In middle of the night.

Maya's Chamber.

KNOCK!

Maya instantly opens her eyes and sits with an irritated groan. This has become the ritual of night! She has been hearing this knocking sound since evening but still didn't find who was behind these mysterious knocks!.

She kicks the blankets out from her bed and about to walk towards the door but she stops in midway.

'What if they run away each time hearing my footsteps?'.
