Chapter 138 - I will wait till then!

As soon as Xavier turned in a different path towards his chamber, his smile vanishes and it turns into a worried frown 'She didn't mention anything about her injury yet... Did Xander really find those weapons and information himself or did she tell him everything? Why didn't she tell me anything?'.

Even though he feels sad for her negligence, remembering her wearing his chain made his smile to return.

'She didn't tell me...yet... I hope she will tell about her injuries tomorrow... I don't want to ask her directly.. What if she lies to me? I can't take it...if she still thinks me as a mere stranger.. I will never ask if she thinks so!'.

With that thought he shakes his head displeased. He mumbles 'Tomorrow she might get a chance to tell me... Or..I will wait till then...'.

Maya's Chamber. 

Maya stood frozen for few more moments. Until she starts breathing heavily as she never experienced any of these feelings in her life.

She touches her ear with her shivering hand in shock and gulps.

'I swear h-his lips touched my earlobe or was that my mere imagination?!'.

She repeats his words mentally 'Have a good sleep? Tomorrow-'.

"Madam?".

Celina brings Maya out of her daze and only witnesses Maya has already fled inside her chamber swiftly and closed the chamber doors.

SLAM!

SLAM!

CLINK!

Celina blinks blankly "What happened to her? Why didn't she even look at my side?  And why did she look so fl.u.s.tered?!".

Maya walks towards her bed still holding her palm against her chest and exhales deeply 'What is happening to me? Why does it feel weirdly joyful? Why am I smiling when I couldn't breath properly?!".

Maya removes her outer robe in a trance and notices the pendent dangling. She smiles caressing it for few moments and sighs deeply.

She sits on the bed and lifts her skirt to examine her thigh injury before going to bed.

She creases her eyebrows immediately seeing the cotton gauges 'When did I change the cotton gauges?!'.

She darts her eyes seriously and thinks about the last time she changed it.

'I didn't change it after I left the Countryside Pavilion! Then-'.

She freezes at some thought 'Crown Prince...'.

She recalls how The Doctors were sent to treat her injury in the Countryside Pavilion.

'He found about my injury even before me! How is he doing it?! Is he that clever?! Alas! About whom I even asking?! '.

She bites her lips in serious thoughts and lays on the bed slowly.

The Next Day.

Maya is standing in the practicing place already aiming at a wooden board. She always wakes up early even before the sun even arise. Today, she is even more eager to practice as she doesn't want to miss any chance of learning Archery from certain someone! She did arrive even earlier than her usual time of practicing. 

Celina was standing under a tree and yawns tired. She blinks with a tired sigh seeing Maya practicing herself.

'Why is Mam practicing earlier than her reguar time? Isn't she tired? She too slept late last night yet she is running around picking the arrows!'.

She smiles 'She even asked me to sit aside and rest while she would herself pick the arrows after shooting the wooden boards. I wonder when Our Crown Prince will acknowldege this rare gem...He didn't even visit her once!'.

She lets out a disappointed sigh.

Maya smirks shooting the wooden board exactly where she wanted it to be shot and looks back at Celina who was beaming at her in admiration.

Maya couldn't help smile smugly and frowns in a deep thought 'I should try more.. Could anyone teach me to hit two different targets in a single shot? I heard about them in stories but never know anyone could be capable enough to surpass the stages in Archery to that point?'.

SWOOSH!

SWOOSH!

Maya turns immediately hearing the sound of arrows and witnesses three of them hitting a single board in three diffferent places. She gasps in astonishment and looks around to search the Archer.

'Who is this capable?!'.

"Your skills has grown impressive, My Lady".

Xavier enters the place with a playful smile plastered on his face.

Maya blushes hearing a deep voice behind her and states truthfully "Yet not as incredible as yours, Sir".

Xavier smiles meaningfully "You will surpass me soon, My Lady".

Maya blinks at his statement blankly and states "You are flattering".

She pulls the string of her bow while aiming for a wooden board with two arrows. 

Xavier's eyes shone in adoration seeing her feisty posture and says holding her bow by stopping her in the process "It took me months to learn what you are doing, My Lady. I am not exaggerating anything".

Maya looks at his genuine smile and couldn't help smile at his complement. She is already flying in ecstasy yet his hold on her bow made her to be grounded with him and threatened with her absurd heartbeats.

Xavier raises her bow and guides her fingers over the arrows slowly.

Maya was already swallowing her nervousness and felt his touch too overwhelming. She curses herself 'Stop your absurdity, Maya! You are embarrassing yourself in front of him!!'.

She felt Xavier's hands let go of hers and lets out a relaxed breath.

Xavier steps aside from her and declares "Now, Release them!".

His eyes never left any of her expressions on her face while examining her shot.

She releases the arrows from the string and looks ahead eagerly.

THUD!

One of the arrows hit the wooden board but the other one didn't.

Xavier frowns and raises his eyebrows surprised. He has already noticed Maya's shivering fingers and chuckles "Are you nervous?".

Maya replies immediately "No!".

Xavier states playfully "I can say you will surpass this stage very soon" and smirks pointing her hand "But with those shivering hands...Will take some time ".

Maya looks away restlessly and nods pursing her lips in embarrassment "I will practice more".
