Chapter 144 - Master never won The Contest!

The Royal Barn. 

Maya starts drinking the water directly from the barrel without any hesitation.

Eros couldn't help say "The water was stored for horses, Your Majesty".

Maya wipes her mouth after drinking contently and shrugs carelessly as if that is not even a matter  "But it's still water! Now, can you tell me about This Wish Ride Contest?".

Eros looks at Maya and the barrel of water before turning to walk "The Wish Ride Contest is for everyone in this nation. Anyone capable of taming the released Royal horses will be eligible to compete".

Maya wonders eagerly "Do your Princes too tame one of them for this Contest?".

Eros states "Prince Xavier has his Charles but My Master will tame a new horse every year for this Contest from wild".

Maya opens her mouth but closes without saying anything "...".

She rubs her hands feeling the coldness.

'He is capable of taming a horse from wild...every year? Even with all these serious wars?'.

She blurts her mind "Didn't he even miss a year?!".

Eros just says "No, Your Majesty!".

She asks with a mocking smirk "Who wins every year? Your Master?".

Eros says "My Master never won the Contest".

She gets shocked "What?!".

Eros says with a neigh "Master always concentrates on the new horse.  Sometimes it will try to harm him and most of the times he will stop the ride to take care of the horse as it will get hurt in the process. So Prince Xavier wins every other time. Common people win too sometimes. They will drag the golden coins and expensive gifts as their wish from the Royal Palace.".

Maya asks with a frown "Who won the last Contest?".

Eros answers "A man from The Imperial City won and carried a sack full of silver and gold coins".

Maya raises her eyebrows surprised and nods understanding. Her jaw start ticking in cold and covers her hands in her outer robes to find warmth.

Both were strolling around the garden linking the way to the corridors of her chamber.

She asks casually "How powerful your Master is? After all he is human too..even being A Crown Prince ..".

Eros states "My Master is extremely strong and wins every war!".

She nods and asks keenly "How about getting injured? Will he cry too?".

Eros neighs "My Master never gets hurt. And cried sometimes".

Maya frowns "When?".

For some reason she wanted to know. Instead of asking why he never gets hurt, she asks 'when' subconsciously. She hugs herself to comfort herself in this cold weather. This gets worse day by day. Never better..the climate.

Eros states "Few years back. I remember Master cried in the forest and even left me alone under a tree the entire night".

Maya creases her eyebrows intrigued 'That man cried?! Not even in my nightmares!' and asks "Why?-".

"Madam Maya!".

Maya who was looking at Eros turns and finds Sarah walking hurriedly towards her "Sarah?".

As soon as Sarah reaches there, she asks looking around nervously "What are you doing here? With whom were you talking?".

Maya opens her mouth awkwardly 'She heard me talking?' and stammers "I-I..was just..praising the scenery to myself. What's the matter? You look worried".

Sarah asks holding Maya's hand anxiously "Maya, please help me! Only you could help me this time".

Eros states trying to be angry but nothing got expressed in his stoic voice "How dare this servant calls Her Majesty by her name!".

Maya rolls her eyes at Eros' comment before asking Sarah "What happened?".

Sarah speaks without any delay "Our Crown Prince issued an edict to-".

Maya rolls her eyes again boringly and interrupts "Exile me?! So soon?!".

'Is he that desperate to chase me out?'.

Sarah is taken aback by her and asks suspiciously "What?! What are you saying?!".

Maya only then gets shocked and asks eagerly "No?! Then what's bothering you? Why would you need my help then?".

Sarah says "Our Crown Prince ordered that two of our people from the Countryside Pavilion, who disrespected you, to be executed! Today and too in an hour time. In the middle of the Main street of The Imperial City".

Maya frowns and wonders mentally 'Is he absurd?! Why would he do this in this situation?'.

Sarah holds Maya's hand to her heart and begs "Please help me to save someone....".

Maya could only ask "Whom?! I don't know your family worked in The Pavilion?".

Sarah shakes her head "Not my family. It's Luke".

Maya asks still confused "Who?!".

Sarah explains "Celina's cousin. She will be devastated if she knows this!".

Maya gets worried and thinks seriously "She would...".

She asks "And what's the execution for exactly? Who are going to die?",

'I don't understand this sudden move from him..'

Sarah speaks "As a warning for those who disrespected you that day when you saved us. Christopher..and The Court Official from The Imperial Court who came for the investigation".

Maya gets thinking in alert 'He is upto something. I know he doesn't care for me. So he is definitely plotting something! If they are executed for disrespecting me, then everyone will hate me! Yes! Then I can't stay here! You arrogant Prince! Is this a counter attack for my answers in the Imperial Court?! Trying to make everyone hate me and make me leave?! In your dreams!'.

Sarah requests "Please, I don't want Luke to die today as he has been serving the Pavilion for so long. I won't request for Christopher but I can't let an innocent servant to die. Celina's cousin Luke is innocent! He was just an assistant to Christopher. Just because of that he is dragged with him to be executed today!",

Maya couldn't believe this execution thing suddenly and asks unsure "Christopher is being executed?!".

'Will they really kill them? I..don't think Christopher can really die.. he was only working for Royals....'

Sarah asks stunned "How wouldn't he be?! He was the only one who dared to attack you! His attack was brutal! If not for your fighting skill, you could have died!".
