Chapter 173 - Princess Veronica!

"So, she asked as a Wish from the Emperor when she gave birth to Our Crown Prince to conduct this Contest every year and grant a wish irrespective of the person's identity and status. But Our Emperor granted the wish only when Our Princes grown capable enough to ride the horse though".

Hearing him, she actually finds him useful this time but her dislike still exists for him. Maybe the reality hurt her in someway. That Christopher should have been alive like him too. He didn't deserve to die for a small assault. It was wrong but surely not wrong enough to deserve death.

Moreover, He knows better than Sarah when it comes to past incidents before Sarah came here as a servant. And she doesn't even need to ask him anything! He just tells me everything on his own!

'Who knows as long as I pretend disinterested he might tell more to make me speak? This sounds like a good idea and it is working for me'.

Because if she asks a single question he answers more!

She asks "Where are they from?" and looks at the soldiers who were in a condition looked worse than death. She now understands the ultimate brutality of this Kingdom. 

The Official shrugs "We don't know yet. But we doubt it's Eastern Realm".

She remains silent to check if he will continue saying. To her surprise, he starts leaking further.

"The Western Realm was where Empress Claudia born. The Southern Realm will be under us real soon. So it doesn't matter if they are behind this".

Maya frowns "Southern Realm under this country?".

The Official chuckles "What do think the reason would be for Our Crown Prince leaving his injured brother behind? He has to execute his long planned strategies and get the Realm under him before even more conspiracy like this happens. If its Southern Realm behind this they will pay for it. If not, Eastern Realm will pay for it soon".

Maya could only wonder in her mind astonished 'Is this so simple for that man?! To conquer a huge country?! Single handedly?!'.

He speaks as if reading her mind "But this time it might be dangerous as Prince Xavier can't help him personally in planning new strategies after starting the war",

Maya raises her eyebrows in wonder "Prince Xavier?".

He smirks "He is best in leading the war from behind the curtains. After all, who needs to step in to fight when Prince Kalki leads the battalion himself?! All he wants is a group of skillfull messengers to carry the strategies to him in the right time!".

A strange thought arises in her mind 'If he can...then why can't I? But ....why would I fight his wars? It's not my duty... but I really want to witness how he plans strategies and how he helps exactly in the wars..'.

She felt her eyes failed to contain the curiosity anymore and turns before asking mockingly "Why are you telling me all this?"

She is done with this Hall and sighs carelessly without even sparing him a glance "I didn't" and walks back from the place slowly. 

He follows her closely and speaks "You requested the Edict from the Emperor though".

She sighs and looks back at him. Even though she was tempted to use him to know more information from him in future, she speaks truly "If Luke wasn't there, I wouldn't even stepped into this matter".

The man smiles "Won't you even ask my name, My Lady?".

She is surprised as she never knew his name but she talked to him for so long!

He smirks slyly "Alex for you. I don't like you paying any courtesy".

Maya raises her eyebrows before speaking "Yes, Your Excellency. I am glad to know that".

Alex "...." Just what is she?! What is have to savage to me all the time?!

She walks ignoring Alex and Justin soon joins her who was waiting for her outside the hall.

She asks looking around the soldiers patrolling everywhere "How many are protecting The Royal Palace, Justin?".

She like the name ...Justin... He looked younger though...Not younger than her..but younger than Alex..and every men she met in this place.

Justin answers bowing "4 Battalions are guarding the insides, Your Highness. Each battalion has 100 soldiers. And Nearly 12 battalions are guarding the Palace from outside".

She gasps in shock "Totally 1600?!".

Justin nods curtly "Yes, Your Highness! Our Crown Prince is very protective of the family. We always follow this drill whenever His Highness is away from the country. And due to this war, we have to be extra cautious".

Maya nods understanding and walks back into her chamber slowly.

After a week.

Xavier was still unconscious and healing. The Doctors of the Royal Infirmary were trying hard to help him cure faster.

THE QUEEN HAS ARRIVED!

The Doctors stops whatever they are doing and stands aside in the chamber leavingenough space for Maya.

Maya walks inside and asks about Xavier's health. After hearing the Doctors she sighs sadly.

She walks beside his sickbed and notices him closely. Even though his injuries were healing fast, he didn't get his conscious back it. And that was worrisome. 

She has been regularly visiting him yet nothing improved her mood. She also heard the news of ongoing war in The Southern Realm.

She never saw Alex after that night. It was like he just disappear.

Due to this sudden war, she couldn't even step out of The Royal Palace but she was keeping an eye on the Cold Prison with the help of Bhoomi. Even though she was angry at her, she couldn't take risk when it comes to The Cold Prison. Not especially after the dream.

PRINCESS VERONICA HAS ARRIVED!

Maya turns subconsciously hearing the announcement and whines mentally.
