Chapter 215 - Dying to show my gratitude here!

Kalki's eyes turned deep as he wanted to scrutinise her even more. 

'Is she going to beg? Request? Or..cry? Like she did on that day? But I haven't seen her cry because of me after that day..'

The more he sees her the more she becomes mysterious to him. She is not the same naive woman whom he brought from Hindustan before. And she is definitely not the woman who cried her eyes out when he ranted on their first day of 'wedding night' in the Countryside Pavilion!

Even though Maya felt jittery seeing his intense gaze on her, she faces him as this is a must. She has her own reason to take this dangerous decision. If she wanted, she could have simply let Xavier go inside the Prison instead her but her heart couldn't bear that mere thought. Seeing Kalki's emotions show up, she can say there is more to this situation.

Maya speaks calmly with a stoic face "Seeing you being so stubborn ... I can sense there is something else behind your decision. You need some time to solve this problem and also don't want to send your brother to the Cold Prison. Sending a woman to the Cold prison and not a tough warrior like your brother...*gazes him with a knowing smirk and glint in her eyes* I can say there is more than mere pride of a Royal here. I will go with them for now. And you know what will happen to me there. I too don't like sending others instead of me and I am also not interested to burn everyone alive here. If you don't want to lose your power, you know what should be done".

This is the first time she spoke to him calmly and normally. As she got new confidence that he too has emotions, weakness and that appears only when his family gets in his way! And more than that she too can know his mind. And heart? It has along way to go!

She looks at Bhommi and nods. Bhommi retrieves back her powers understanding Maya's mind. She speaks looking at Bhommi "You can go now".

Bhommi disappears and Maya speaks before turning towards the officials "Don't make me regret this decision...you know.. you should hurry..."

She didn't even look at him as if it's her order.

Kalki "..."

Kalki is feeling more and more strange emotions now. He didn't expect Maya to even sense his reason behind his decision. 

'She knows and understands that I have a reason behind this decision?'

He never would have dreamed a mere strange girl he brought as a pawn for his throne could make him feel emotions which he never felt. Like he could be predictable. 

Hell, he didn't even realize that she had Powers like him just a few weeks before!

This is the first time a person other than his family understood him without him telling them anything! Sometimes family to fails to understand him! Like Xavier today! 

'What happened to him?! He knows that he can't go to the Cold Prison again after that traumatic incident! What made him agree? And that too in front of this cunning official foxes?!'

Kalki is staring at Maya and orders without even averting his eyes from her "You can take her now".

Maya walks away from him having no idea of his gaze still on her.

Kalki swears in mind 'You won't able to confine her for long!' and turns with a sly smirk 'You took a clever decision by aiding me this time, woman. Now the traitors' bloodsheds will be endless'.

He walks back towards The Emperor Courtyard not before nodding Alex, who was watching everything in silence in a distance. No one noticed his presence but as usual, Kalki did. He is aware of his presence ever since he reached here.

Maya walks with them. She looks at Xavier strangely.

'Though I took this decision with a selfish reason, I don't want to see you suffer anyway because of me, Sir'.

Xavier watches her walk away defeated and grits his teeth in fury! His fury is completely on his father who made him weak in front of Xander and even himself. If he didn't have such trauma, Xander would have allowed him to go! Now the Emperor's new havoc of his marriage is making him almost insane! Now Maya getting imprisoned is not helping anything!

Maya is following two soldiers who are leading her the way. She is relieved as they didn't try to chain her hands like last time the soldiers did in the Countryside Pavilion.

Alex joins them sneakily and walks next to Maya. He mutters almost to himself as he knows she can hear him like Xander "I am here, Lady. You don't need to fear anything. Can you hold on for a few moments in cold?"

Maya wanted to smack his head and throw him in some corner of a dungeon but sighs ignoring him for now. His presence irked her but he can be helpful like last time to know things about this country.

She gulps hugging herself and frowns in a thought 'Only for a few moments?'

He smirks noticing her reaction "You are underestimating His Highness's powers, Lady. He won't let you stay more than an hour".

Maya scoffs muttering under her breaths "Oh really! Of course, I have been treated so well and I am dying to show gratitude here!"

Alex chuckles "You are in this situation because you didn't know what you were asking for!" and whispers before leaving her "I will see you soon..."

Maya notices him skillfully slipping away and wonders amused 'How can he pretend so well like a soldier? Wait! How did he appear here as disguised himself as a soldier? That man is really skilful in disguising!'

Maya stops suddenly seeing the official opening a closed well and chuckles wondering "Did you change the punishment suddenly? or Were all the rules of your Court written just to kill me?"
