Chapter 115: Damian's Arrival

Name:The Copy Mage Author:Adam_A
As a cultivator, his body's capability to survive and function with less sleep, food and water was much higher than that of an ordinary person, as he could use his Internal Energy, or others could use their External Energy, as a substitute to sustain their bodies.

However, despite that, Damian knew of the importance of sleep, especially for him, as he was still young and wasn't of a high cultivation level either, so after quickly showering, when to straight to sleep.

He was deeply asleep, but he was quite sure that he would subconsciously wake up in time for him to leave for his mission, and even if he didn't, he was hoping that Utsusu would wake him up instead.

Damian woke up at sunrise, and although he didn't sleep much, he was energised and ready for his Misson.

Before leaving, Damian cultivated for a short while to make sure that his body was in its optimum condition and to make sure that he was fully prepared for his mission.

Damian didn't want to underestimate the difficulty of the mission, as from the mission's description and the large reward, it wasn't going to be as simple as an ordinary escort mission.

Hanging his bow over his shoulder, Damian left his residence early in the morning before any of his friends had awoken, but he had already told them that he had a Misson, so none of them were worried or baffled by Damian leaving at such an early time in the morning.

He left the academy after showing the guards at the western front gate the slip that gave him permission to leave the academy in order to complete his mission, and he headed to the area that the mission stated was the starting place.

With a map of the area within his mind, Damian found it easy to navigate and was confident that he would be able to make it as Utsusu would be able to direct him even if he got lost.

The mission instructed for him to be at the meeting point an hour after sunrise and as the reward was 150 contribution points, Damian knew it wouldn't be a simple mission and was planning on arriving half an hour early.

He didn't want to expend too much Internal Energy while travelling, so was running at a speed that one would expect from a rank 2 External Cultivator, which was quite easy for him to sustain.

As an Internal Cultivator, he didn't need to display too much physical power when he could use ranged attacks using his Internal Energy and his body could suffer backlash and wasn't suited for close combat, as it couldn't take attacks like the body of an External Cultivator.

This was why Damian had to be careful and he knew that it was only because he had fought against opponents that were of relatively low cultivation levels, otherwise he would have no chance against them when he fought as a fighter using his Internal Energy.

At a low level, it wasn't too much of a disadvantage, but as Damian got stronger and was going to face stronger opponents, he had to become more of a ranged fighter. Although with his dense changeable energy and his body that had a high affinity with energy of all elements, he was more suited to reinforcing his body than other Internal Cultivators.

Along the way, there were hardly any people and the streets were mostly empty, but that was to be expected as it was still very early and most people were still sleeping.

That made it the perfect time to begin the journey, as the roads would have hardly any carriages to get in their way, and with fewer people, there was a lower chance of people attacking them and they wouldn't be able to hide in crowds to get away.

Arriving, Damian didn't head straight towards the location and observed the area from the top of a building that he had jumped onto.

He saw a large carriage that was very luxurious, like the ones he had seen the elders of the Maxwell Family use to get around, but it didn't have the sigil of any of the noble families, so he let out a sigh of relief.

His identity as the son of Sarah that used to be an elder of the Maxwell Family, couldn't be revealed, as it would cause everyone around him a lot of trouble, especially his mother who was finally happy and progressing with her life.

His yellow eyes and white hair were quite distinctive, but they weren't unique to him and people had eyes and hair of all different colours, so as long as he covered most of his face, his identity would be mostly hidden.

Although they would know that his name was Damian and that he was residing in Akegria Academy, as he had accepted the mission through the academy, there were too many students to pinpoint exactly who and where he was.

While it was the same way with his unique looking bow, that they may be able to recognise him with, as it wasn't enough for them to confirm whether he was the same person and it also wouldn't be enough to look into his identity.

If he covered his face, they wouldn't have much to go off, if they wanted to find out his identity, and luckily the academy only had a first name for him, which would make it very difficult for them to begin a search into who he was.

Taking off his academy robes, Damian then took off the plain white shirt that he was wearing under his robes, then ripped it in half and wrapped it around the lower half of his face.

The material was breathable and he didn't have troubles speaking or breathing through it, but it covered everything under his eyes and was the only thing he could do to hide his identity in his current situation.

Damian was only being careful and wanted to make sure that his mother would never have to experience anything negative again, as he wouldn't be able to live with himself, especially if it was his fault.

Putting back on his academy robes, Damian headed over to the carriage and, from what he could see and sense, there were around 20 guards that were all of varying cultivation levels that varied from rank 3 to rank 5.

There was one that clearly stood out as the strongest, and he seemed to be the leader of the group that was guarding the carriage, its driver and the parcel that it was carrying.

Seeing Damian heading towards them, the strongest out of the guards walked over to him.
