Chapter 118: Hero

Name:The Copy Mage Author:Adam_A
She seemed to be slightly older than Damian and was very beautiful, but Damian couldn't sense any energy from her body and it seemed as though she wasn't a cultivator.

"My lady, quickly try and get as far away from here as possible, while I hold off these assassins for as long as I can" instructed the old man as he gently placed her on the ground.

She was unwilling to let him die, but she knew in the current situation that she couldn't refute, and that if she didn't do as he said, she would also die with him.

But in the foreign country that she was in and with her looks, that would draw everybody's attention to her, she wouldn't be able to hide from the assassins for long, even if her servant sacrificed himself.

The guards launched all their attacks and skills at the three robes figures, but they were all avoided with ease as the three figures played with the guards, knowing that they would easily slaughter them all.

Damian watching everything that had happened was hesitant to turn to escape, and as soon as the beautiful girl looked at him eye-to-eye, he made his decision.

Damian drew back his bowstring and latched onto it a bow that he made with his Arrow Beam Skill.

[I can't believe that I nearly turned to escape. I will survive, but I will also save anybody that needs and deserves my help and I will never back down from anybody] declared Damian within his mind.

"Old man, quickly get out of here and take her with you. You seem to be quite capable, so while we hold back those assassins, get to the royal family, otherwise, she will die as she is too slow to get away" called out Damian as he fired the arrow that he had formed using the Arrow Beam Skill.

The arrow accurately flew towards one of the figures and was only narrowly dodged by the figure and was able to cut their robes, which was the closest that anybody had gotten to landing an attack on them.

Damian knew that it was a risky and reckless decision that he made, but he was unwilling to back down and allow such an innocent beauty that couldn't cultivate, be killed, while he could help her.

At the time he wasn't thinking too much about the consequences, but as long as he could hold out for a few minutes, he was sure that somebody would come to help after sensing the disturbance in the energy in the area.

Looking over at Damian who had his face covered and had bright yellow eyes, the girl was shocked by his words and could clearly see that he was younger than her from his body.

"Kid, if you really can help us here, you will be repaid dearly" vowed the old man as he carried the girl in his arms and dashed towards the centre of the country at his full speed that was shockingly fast.

He didn't waste any time, and seeing that Damian and the other guards were staking their lives to help his master to get away, he made the most of their sacrifice and efforts.

"Shit, the target is getting away and these trash are getting in our way" exclaimed one of the assassins angrily.

In that instant, all three of them completely changed and were no longer playing with the guards as within an instant, they slashed off the heads of half of the guards.

Damian seeing that knew that he had no chance against them, but if he kept his distance, he might be able to hold them off enough for the girl and the old man to escape and it might have been enough time for cultivators in the area to come and offer their assistance.

Damian couldn't even see how the 3 figures had managed to kill half of the guards within the blink of an eye, but was impressed and intimidated by such speed and skill.

Explosive Fire Arrow

Damian without thinking, fired multiple Explosive Fire Arrows one after the other, and although he hadn't hit any of the three figures, he had forced them to dodge the arrows, which helped the guard leader that was still fighting against them.

"Alfred, do you really think they will be okay. So many people have died for my safety already, it isn't fair for that young boy to die as well" wailed the girl worriedly, not wanting others to also die for her sake.

"Don't worry Elizabeth, as long as you are safe, you can reward the families of the fallen and reward any of the survivors. But if you die, then their sacrifice would have amounted to nothing" reassured the old man as he dashed as fast as he could with her in his arms.

He was only a lowly butler that was there to serve her and wasn't skilled in combat, but his cultivation had increased over his life after living quite a luxurious life for being around Elizabeth.

As long as the royal family, which were the only people in the small weak country that could probably help them, assisted them in returning to the country that they were originally from, they would be greatly rewarded by her family that was wealthy and powerful in a much larger country on the continent.

It was the perfect opportunity for the royal family to gain enough power for them to be confident when taking down Akegria Academy, that was threatening their power, and could be the spark for the civil war.

"That boy is our hero and after we are safe, we should look for him and get him to join our family," said Elizabeth as she wiped her tears.

"Yes I agree, he is young, courageous and seems talented. If he survives and we find him, we will reward him and get him to join us" agreed the old man as he continued rushing away as fast as he could, still believing that the assassins would inevitably kill everyone in their path and catch up to them.
