Elizabeth was never given the opportunity to express herself and everyone believed that because she was born with beauty and in a wealthy family, she was happy.
She wouldn't even open up to her father, who although was loving and caring, wasn't very understanding of her struggles and was also very busy with other things.
He was the head of the powerful Graham Family and was also a public figure that was always the centre of attention, and after Elizabeth's mother passed away, he buried himself in training and work to deal with the loss.
Her mother passed away when she was young and her father cared for her and sheltered her so much because she reminded him of her mother. However it wasn't the same ever since her mother died, and her mother was the only person that she could relate to.
She was also a peerless beauty and was also quite weak, but despite that, she was strong-willed and was not once disrespected or looked down upon. Because of that, Elizabeth idolised her mother who had became successful in life despite her weak body that couldn't cultivate.
Her mother would always tell her stories and Elizabeth would tell her mother everything, but after her mother died, Elizabeth became quite hard-hearted and found it hard to trust or care for others.
Without anybody that she trusted to open up to, Bernard became the only person that she was comfortable enough around to show how she was feeling without needing to put up a front.
"I do not recognise your name as one of the royal or noble families. If you do not go by any other names or have permission to enter the royal district, you will have to leave and compensate us for protecting you and my soldier that has lost a hand" stated the guard leader with an intimidating glare.
Compared to what she had seen from her father, the guard leader wasn't very capable and didn't frighten her in the slightest, and seeing that she wasn't intimidated by him, the guard leader was impressed.
"Watch your mouth and do not compare me to any of your measly noble families. Take me to the royal palace immediately, if you know what is good for you" ordered Elizabeth.
Elizabeth's choice of words were careful and she made sure not to offend the royal family, but she also made it clear that she was above the noble families and above the guard leader.
The guard leader was shocked by her words, but his expression was calm and didn't change in the slightest as he smiled slightly.
He was an experienced guard leader that had trained and fought against others his entire life, so he knew that he always had to stay calm and was intrigued by Elizabeth.
"I do apologise for offending you, but unless you can prove that you are allowed into the royal district or that you are from one of the noble families, I cannot allow you to enter" stated the guard leader, still not allowing her to enter the royal district.
"He, we will see about that. Take me to the royal family and we will see who isn't allowed where. If they send me away, I will do whatever you want, but if not, you must publically apologise to me and grovel at my feet" scoffed Elizabeth who had a complete change in demeanour from how she was with Bernard and seemed to have become a strong and independent girl, just like she had seen her mother be.
"I do not have the power to do that and as per my orders, I cannot allow anybody that doesn't have permission to enter or clearance to the royal district. However, if you vow to become my servant, to compensate for my protection and the damage that when of my men suffered, I might be able to help you. You would become my servant, only if you are turned away by the royal family, but if you aren't you are free to do as you please" said the guard leader, who wouldn't mind having such beauty be his personal servant.
He had spent all his life training and grinding his way up the forces, and maybe it was finally his chance to settle down with a girl that had beauty that surpassed anything he had ever seen before.
"I accept. You must protect me and get me the chance to speak with the royal family, then if after that I am turned away, I am more than happy to submit to you. But that is merely a dream of yours that will never occur" accepted Elizabeth.
She had worn her veil after Bernard had revealed her face to the guards, but that one glance that the guards took at her face had been imprinted into their minds. Her face was perfect and without realising it, the guards moved to protect such a beauty that should be idolised by all.
Elizabeth was taken in a carriage towards the royal palace and beside her sat Bernard, while opposite them both was the guard leader who was interested to see what would happen with Elizabeth and continued to answer all the questions she had.
From a young age, Elizabeth's father educated her about everything, especially things that had to do with leading a territory and most things to do with cultivation. After finding out she had no talent in cultivation and was very weak, he taught her even more than he did in her childhood, in the hopes that with her knowledge, she could still be successful and useful, despite being weak.
She was fascinated by how the country was formed and run and found that their many flaws in the way that the country was run, especially since the country was on the verge of a civil war.
The guard leader didn't withhold any information, and Elizabeth decided that she would offer her family's assistance and support to the royal family if they were to battle against Akegria Academy and others that were planning to revolt.
