"What do I think?" Harlow raised her head and looked at him curiously. "About what?"
"Nevermind." Raphael shook his head. "In these accounts you've been telling, there's Kira and Gewen, and Edgar and Clara? Friends of your parents but also couples in their own right."
Harlow grinned. "Huh. You were actually listening and paying attention, weren't you? Say, how about another glass of wine before I tell you about them some more?"
"Er…"
"Come on. I know you want to." Harlow chuckled. "At least drink for me? Please...? I still want to drink. It's not fun to drink alone."
"Fine." Raphael relented. "I only do this for you."
Even though the plan was to originally make only Raphael drunk and make sure that he passed out before Harlow, the Demon King was actually right and the alcohol was strong even for someone like Harlow.
"Why did you make me drink too much wine?" Raphael looked at Harlow. He had been about to fill another glass but then halted as he finally regained some sense. "Are you trying to make me drunk?"
Harlow rolled her eyes and jabbed a finger on his chest. She missed and poked his shoulder instead. "Why else would someone go drinking?"
"You said it was to socialize, right?" Raphael muttered and held his head for a moment. His expression darkened at the jug of wine. "Ugh, I think I have a headache. This isn't any good."
"That's really great though. You'll pass out immediately." Harlow smiled at him. "That means that you'll be able to sleep really soundly. Do you want me to help you get into bed?"
"Will you be joining me in bed?" Raphael murmured and looked her in the eye. Harlow could see the deep longing in his eyes and that struck her as odd.
She immediately shook her head and stared at the Demon King's ridiculous rose-petal strewn bed and resisted the urge to shudder. "No. I'm going back to my room after this, but I'll help you get to your bed because you look really unsteady."
"... Okay." Raphael nodded and slowly stood up. The man was swaying a little but his gaze was intensely on her. "You are free to change your mind and come back into my bed uninvited. I'll be waiting."
Harlow wrinkled her nose and pursed her lips. "Tell me that when you don't look like the wind can blow you off your feet."
"You made me like this," Raphael complained as he gently touched and gripped Harlow's much steadier shoulder. "You're more than capable of making my knees go weak so you need to take responsibility."
"Oh really?" Harlow laughed and even though the man was actually heavier than she expected, she started to help him move across from the sofa and head towards his bed. Even though they swayed a little, she held them up.
"You should be responsible for me…" Raphael swayed a little and then groaned as his head spun. He glanced at Harlow and muttered. "I think I made terrible decisions because of you."
"Sureee you did." Harlow rolled her eyes. "Who's the guy who kept refilling the wine jug? It wasn't me. I don't have any magic. See? See these hands? No magic. You're the one with magic and not me, Demon King. Don't try to put me to blame."
"Yes, you really didn't…" Raphael sighed and then leaned his head on Harlow's hair. "Mmm… you smell really good."
Harlow's eyes widened and she lost some of her drunkenness as she kept trying to not trip on the lush and rich rug furnishing. She blushed a little at the stupid Ice Prince who kept sniffing her head.
"Hey… stop sniffing. You are not a dog," she pouted.
"But you smell sooo good…" Raphael replied in almost gibberish, and then his body swayed forward, almost fell to the floor if Harlow was not quick to catch him.
"Hey, quit messing up the balance," she complained.
"I'm not… wait, I think I actually did." Raphael blabbered again. "Sorry, I'm sorry."
"If you're sorry, become lighter! You're going to pull the two of us under." Harlow groaned and tried to get him to the bed.
The bed was almost right there so why weren't they getting anywhere near closer? She had been walking several steps now, but it felt like they still stood where they originally were.
Wait, they actually were near and Harlow was just being silly but why was Raphael such a deadweight? He was so heavy, as if gravity kept trying to pull them down.
Raphael scoffed and swayed some more as he corrected her. "We can't get anywhere else lower than the underworld, Harlow. There's no such thing as the abyss."
"Ugh, I don't even know what you're trying to say, stupid Raphael." Harlow hit her knee against a cabinet and cursed. She heaved a sigh of relief when she saw that they were almost there. Just a couple more inches!
Just a little closer.
Almost there…
Gosh… was the bed really that far away?
"By the way, I forgot I can actually teleport," Raphael muttered and snapped his fingers.
Swoosh.
Harlow blinked and then realized she was suddenly in bed. The princess was now lying on the rose-petal bed and Raphael was on top of her.
Great.
Raphael grinned when he realized where they were and how his body was pressing on Harlow's.
"Wifey..." he called her with a husky voice.

Yep. Harlow managed to make Raphael drunk, but even when he was drunk he was still shameless. So...
PS: I am still editing so many chapters (a total of 35) for "The King's Wife Is The Alpha's Mate" and will publish the next tier in a few hours. Sorry, it took me longerrr since there was a missing scene that apparently took such a long time to write. Yep... it's the smut scene.. hehe.
If you read the book and want to support me, could you please vote your golden Tickets to my werewolves book? It's "The King's Wife Is The Alpha's Mate".
It is still in the werewolves writing competition and the winners will be announced on January 28. So, I have several weeks to show Webnovel that the book has good performance. Golden tickets that you cast until January 3 will be counted double because of the mass release event.
