Chapter 52 - Do You Still Want To Kill Me?

Name:The Cursed Prince Author:
Emmelyn pursed her lips, and her eyes narrowed dangerously. Who said Emmelyn wasn't talking to anyone? During her travels, she always talked to strangers.

If there were no people, she would talk to herself or talk to the animals in the forest, or even the trees. No one would think she was crazy if she talked to herself.

However, if she talked to herself here ... she was doomed. Surely everyone would think she was crazy.

While she was undercover as a servant, Emmelyn could still communicate with other people, those fellow servants. And until yesterday, she still talked with Mars.

Whenever they ate together, and before going to bed, the two of them would be talking about how their day went and whatnot.

That helped Emmelyn not go crazy when she was stuck in the enemy's den, like she was now.

If Mars now avoided her and made Emmelyn lose the only thing that made her feel like a free human... then he might as well just lock up Emmelyn in a dungeon, where she would spend all her time alone.

With Mars avoiding her, it felt like the prince had created an invisible cage around Emmelyn.

This was what made the girl very angry, upset, and hurt.

Not being able to talk to anyone could drive people crazy. That's why prisoners in solitary confinement tend to lose their minds if they were locked up alone for a long time.

So, even though Mars seemed to give Emmelyn freedom by not locking her up, his treatment of her would be just as bad. The invisible cage was the worse punishment for someone so lively and full of vigor like her.

This was something that Mars didn't understand. He didn't know why a simple act of avoiding her could turn Emmelyn so upset.

"I ... don't understand," said Mars.

"Then let me revise what I said about you being perfect. You are NOT PERFECT because you are not smart. YOU KNOW NOTHING. Nothing! Now go, leave me alone." Emmelyn pushed Mars's body off the bed.

But the man's body was too sturdy and Emmelyn was also drunk, so she couldn't exert her strength as usual. Mars remained in place.

"In this case, you only talked... to me ..." said Mars. Finally, he slowly started to understand what the girl's complaint was. "Do you like talking to me every day? Is that what bothers you? Not being able to talk to me?"

Emmelyn rolled her eyes. "Who likes talking to you? I was only talking to you, so I don't go crazy."

"Just admit it.. you feel upset that I avoided you because it means you can't talk to me ... Right?" asked Mars, now smiling broadly. His mood which was bleak all day, now gradually turned bright.

"Does that mean you like me?" the man asked, pulling Emmelyn back into his arms.

"Tch ..." Emmelyn looked away.

"You haven't answered my question ..." said Mars. He tugged on Emmelyn's chin and gently turned the girl's head to face him. "Isn't your grumpy attitude not because you hate his room, but you hate being apart from me? You don't want us to keep our distance from each other?"

Emmelyn looked at those golden irises with teary eyes. She then nodded.

"Are you serious?" asked Mars happily.

[Ah .. she must be serious.]

[She is drunk.]

[Drunk people are always honest!]

In his heart, Mars felt delighted because Emmelyn drank so much wine that now she was drunk and was very open to him.

She had admitted that she actually didn't hate her chamber. She also gave a hint that she actually didn't like it if Mars was keeping his distance from her.

Then, if Emmelyn didn't want Mars to keep his distance from her... what did that mean? Did that mean Emmelyn actually had a secret crush on Mars?

She hinted that she liked the fact that she could talk to him and she was upset when he gave her the silent treatment, which was unintentional on his part.

The prince finally decided to take this rare opportunity to find out all about Emmelyn, while the girl was in a state where she would be honest about anything.

"Princess Emmelyn ... be honest and tell me, do you like me?" asked Mars earnestly. His chest was pounding while waiting for her reply.

Now, he just needed to know the girl's answer, yes or no.

He already knew that the words Emmelyn spoke from her mouth did not always represent what was in her heart. Earlier, she said she hated her chamber when she actually liked it.

So could it be ... what Emmelyn said earlier that she didn't want to marry Mars was, in fact, a lie?

Emmelyn rolled her eyes. "Of course I like you. You're very handsome ..."

Mars's golden eyes glistened. He was pleased because Emmelyn acknowledged his good looks.

Ahh .. it's so nice to hear this from the girl he liked.

"So, do you think I'm handsome?" asked Mars again.

"Why do you ask that? Are you a narcissist? You really want to hear me saying you're handsome over and over again?" Emmelyn chided him. "I will not say it again."

"Hmm ... okay. Let's try another question." Mars cleared his throat. "Who are you? And what is your purpose in coming to my castle?"

He wanted to test whether Emmelyn really answered all his questions honestly or not.

"Me?" Emmelyn pointed at her own nose.

"Yes, you. Tell me who you are."

"Hmmph. My name is Emmelyn Rosehill from Wintermere. I am the youngest child of the King and Queen of Wintermere," Emmelyn replied firmly. "I'm here to avenge the death of my family. I deliberately disguised myself as a male servant, so I could freely approach you and ..."

"Hmm ... I already know that part," said Mars. "Then, what about now.. do you still want to kill me?"

Emmelyn shook her head. "No."

"Oh ..." Mars's expression immediately turned excited. He breathed a sigh of relief. That meant Emmelyn had changed, and now she no longer wanted to kill him. "Thank God!"

"Now, I want to kill your father."
