Chapter 207 - Inheritance

Nick soon found himself where he had left the main world originally and maintained his vigilance as he didn't know if the previous owner had left any last minute tricks that he had to watch out for. "for someone so young you seems very distrustful." the spirt said with disp.l.e.a.s.u.r.e. nick shrugged "i am not so naïve as to think that the people who leave behind these inheritances are doing so out of the goodness of their hearts." he said calmly. the spirit remained calm for a moment before speaking again "that is fair i suppose since there have indeed been people who have created deathtraps under the guise of passing on their legacies. at this point however i doubt you are willing to simply walk away from the possibility of the inheritance here is real after all the effort you went through to get this far." the spirt said teasingly. nick didn't deny this since it was true but nonetheless he didn't lower his guard as the spirt lead him down a narrow hallway with black walls. at the end of the hall was a large metallic door with various depictions of many faces all different from the last.

Opening the door nick immediately buffeted by qi so thick that it felt like jelly as he walked through it , and even though he wasn't cultivating he felt his cultivation passively increasing slowly which stunned him slightly. "surprised at the level of qi right?" the spirit asked teasingly. nick nodded "it is hard to imagine how qi could get this thick since it escapes even spirit stones passively." he said confused. the spirit chuckled in its strange multigendered voice "there is an extremely well guarded secret amongst large cultivator clans that there is a rare material found deep under the seas that functions in a way that allows qi to flow freely through it in one direction while blocking it from exiting the other way. in truth most of the actual rooms used for cultivation by those clans are made of the stuff so there is never a shortage of qi to those cultivating." the spirit explained calmly. "i see and I'm guessing this room is made out of that material?" nick said questioningly.

"Yes indeed though this room is a bit different than the ones the large clans use as this room is actually made from one entire piece of that material meaning that unlike those clans where there is a tiny amount of leakage this room has none." the spirit said proudly. nick nodded but didn't say anything as he walked deeper into the room where he found a total of five statues of the same body shape but no faces or genders kneeling around an altar with their hands raised as though in worship. on the altar there were a set of robes that glimmered in every color , a seed the size of an a.d.u.l.ts thumb and a black ring with three dragons of red green and blue colors circling the band mysteriously.
