Chapter 223 - Conversation

Elder sun's divine sense easily covered the area around the floating base which was why he knew that it was floating far above the ground but what he couldn't figure out was how nick had achieved this. examining the structure of the formation attached to the sides and bottom of the foundation he could tell that they were designed to interact with the strange red material that made up the foundation. elder sun frowned at this material since he had never heard of anything that matched it since he could tell that it was at most a tier three material. while elder sun was searching for answers to the enigma that presented itself to him nick was cooling off by doing some gardening with the mutant plants he brought from the trial world even though he was aware of the fact that elder sun had arrived . the mutants all took to their new environment like a parched man in a desert to water , refusing to leave once there. nick didn't mind this since he had already guessed this would happen so he had made sure they were far enough from each other that no conflicts would occur.

After taking care of the mutant plants nick finally decided to talk to elder sun to figure out what he wanted so he quickly cleaned himself of with a small burst of qi under his skin that removed the dirt on his body like an odd fog. nick walked to the edge of the yard where elder sun was standing with an expression like he was deep in thought. "i assume you are here for a reason besides trying to figure out my home correct?" nick asked casually. elder sun dropped his train of thought and looked at nick sternly. "would it kill you to show some respect once and awhile?" he scolded half heartedly. nick shrugged "maybe if this was a formal setting but seeing as you are at my home i will speak comfortably instead." nick answered unapologetically. elder sun sighed "i wouldn't have said anything if i could find you in public but you almost never leave this swamp and even when you do i tend not to realize it until you return." he said exasperated. "i have no reason to leave besides i don't think you are here to discuss my manners." nick said.

"That is true." elder sun nodded. "i have recently learned that several clans as well as a few of the other races have taken an interest in you since you have shown yourself to be unique in several instances." he paused so nick could take in this information. "most of the other races are merely curious about you as an individual rather than any of your secrets however the same doesn't apply to the clans who feel greed at the secrets they managed to guess at as well as feeling that you may become a threat if they don't shackle you somehow." elder sun said seriously. nick frowned "shackle me how exactly?" he asked no longer calm. "most seem to want you to be bound to their clan in marriage while others want to force you to serve them through slave seals." elder sun said seriously.
