Without giving attention to Drew's shouting, Leena dashed out of the car into Bernard's house. The moment Drew came back from the painful stance, Leena was nowhere in his sight.
"Owww! My hand! Her tooth prints are still visible." Cursing at himself for putting down his guards, Drew pulled out the critical items from the shopping bag which they bought in the morning in case they need it for protection. Half tripping with the kick she lent him a while ago, Drew walked towards the house to search for Leena and drag her back before Devin could see them.
....
Walking into the house, Leena looked around the surroundings which were dead silent.
"For about to go bankrupt, his house is quite big," Leena's tone turned into a whimper as she gazed around the rooms to hear any noises from one of them but unable to listen to the slightest commotion, she started searching the rooms one by one. When she could not find him anywhere, strange feelings started up in her heart.
"Where did he go?" Leena turned to run upstairs, the panic was flying through her at the thought of something might have happened to him already.
"It takes two hours for Bernard to reach the hotel I have sent him over a message and even if he rushed the meeting and come back here, it at least takes four hours to reach the destination. So, I don't need to get worried about him. He must be somewhere in one of the rooms searching for the evidence." Leena whispered trying to convince herself with the thought.
"Where the hell you went, stupid idiot? Be safe! Otherwise, I will break one of your legs." Leena frantically searched over the rooms but neither she could hear his voice nor she could get a glimpse of the man. Dejectedly, she started rummaging Bernard's bedroom to try her luck, but her tracks suddenly halted when the door was pushed open from the other end and a pair of loud footsteps echoed into her ears. Panic swelled within her, for she knew they don't belong to the person she knew.
"Be positive Leena. It can be Andrew also! He must be searching to drag me into the car."
But when the door was locked from the inside, she suspected it already.
"What a pity to get caught before you could rob in my house?"
The voice suddenly ran chills down Leena's spine. Why is he here? He should be at the hotel by now, right? Calm down, Leena. Don't panic. You can fight back.
"Too bad, I couldn't find a penny in your house. I came here without thinking you are a nillionaire now." Turning around, Leena snickered glancing at the surroundings to find for any weapon she could use to defend him. She assumed he must have already connected the dots on why she is in his house.
Even though Bernard felt insulted by her words when she called him a nillionaire, he also knew she is trying to provoke his ego right at the moment. When he went to meet the Maestro creations CEO, he forgot the special gift he prepared for him and since he had started way too early, he thought of going back to his house again to get the souvenir. But the moment he entered the gate, he could see his house door was opened. He swiftly went inside and looked around all the rooms which were in a total mess. Then he understood clearly, it was a deliberate plan to send him out of this place and he knew who it must be.
"Did that bitch Leah sent you here? Looks like she didn't learn her lesson years back." Bernard interrogated lighting a cigar. How foolish of her to send someone again to get the evidence. I will make sure, both her fiance and his dad's company will go bankrupt before the wedding.
"Watch what you speak, sc.u.mbag. Do you know the consequences of stealing someone's secrets?" Leena shoved a ceramic vase standing on a table so that the sound can warn them that she is in the house. Leena could fight with him alone but she was also not sure what sort of weapons he was carrying with him right now.
"Consequences? I will worry about that later if you can get out of this home today." He snickered pulling out the knife and marched forward swiftly.
Before Leena could compose her thoughts, he shoved her onto the closet forcefully, her back crashed onto the hard surface loudly. Pressing a knife against her throat which instantly evoked a worst fear and trepidation in her.
"Please leave me. I haven't found any evidence." Leena slightly raised her right arm towards his knife hand telling that she has surrendered. She has put up an act to make him believe that she is weak. Only then, he would loosen up a little.
"Even if you didn't find the evidence, there is no escape for you. I took p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e in killing people. You have entered into Bernard's territory. Didn't Leah tell you what sort of man I am?" He chucked gripping her wrist way too tightly. Leena pressed her lips to hold back the whimper that was threatening come out. She did not want to show her weak side in front of a man, especially a sc.u.m like him.
"Do you...know my identity?" Leena asked breathlessly feeling pain all over the body with the harsh push and the way he has digging his nails onto her wrist. She began talking about her identity to come up with something comprehensible so that Bernard's mind gets occupied.
"Why do I care about your identity. After all, you will be reaching the graveyard doors today." He chuckled tracing a finger onto her face l.i.c.k.i.n.g his lips. Suddenly, there was an urge to taste this ravishing beauty.
"Don't touch me, bastard. I am just giving a heads up on whom you are messing with. He already knows that I am here. He would drag you to hell if you a lay finger on me." Leena felt her body was slithering with the most disgusting creatures with his touch.
"You are speaking as if you are a mistress of the President. Even then, I don't care." He slightly pressed the knife onto her throat. Even though the blood was not gushing out, Leena whimpered in pain with the amount of pressure he was leaving.
"But....you do care... If you listen to the name." Her breathing was getting harder and she has to commence her plan right now otherwise this man would not even dare to violate and murder her. Leena wished he would come out hearing the signal she has given dropping the vase.
"Who is it?" Bernard demanded.
"My brother."
"Do you think I would get scared of your nameless brother?" He snickered.
"Agent Kurt...Weller." Leena panted. " Now do...you feel scared?" Leena didn't bluff Kurt's name just like that. She has studied Bernard's profile way thoroughly yesterday.
"W_hat?" His voice stuttered hearing the name of that person. He may not get scared of the President, but Kurt Weller, his name itself would make Bernard pee onto his pants. That man has once made his life hell, the incident was still fresh in Bernard's memory.
Leena knew the name itself could trigger his weak spot. In his panic state on hearing the name, Bernard put his guards down and Leena was also waiting for this time. It gave her a split second of advantage to charge on him. Without waiting further, she grabbed Bernard's knife firmly with both her hands and pulled down the knife down to create a space between the blade and her neck.
Locking his arms, she pushed the knife onto the floor.
She jammed her hands on to his eyes, clawed his face with her fingernails, and kicked his knees.
"Not my eyes, madwoman." Bernard g.r.o.a.n.e.d and m.o.a.n.e.d in pain but Leena was least bothered about his state. If she gives him a little mercy, he would bite back again.
Stomping onto his legs, Leena ran as fast as could towards the door to escape from the sc.u.m. Before she could open the doorknob, Bernard crawled towards her and dragged her by the legs and forcefully hit her leg.
Leena whimpered when her leg was almost broke with the harsh hit. She gasped for a breath of air when he smashed her leg again.
Did he have to go for the leg which was injured in my accident? Leena was not even in a state to concentrate anything with the pain it was causing. All the memories, she had suffered five years back were resurfacing again.
"You dared to play with me and provoke my ego. I will give you the worst painful death today." He pinned her down with all his might. Initially, he wanted to taste her and let this woman go seeing beauty. But not anymore. He didn't think this weak woman would put up a strong facade injuring him. His eyes, face, and knees were ruined by this woman but his will to kill this woman's ego was stronger than the physical injuries.
Bernard held her two hands with his right and picked the knife which was laying on the floor, pointing towards her abdomen.
