Devin didn't understand the reason for Kurt's animosity towards Elysian. She has aided him in many unsolved cases but still, Kurt chose to blame her because Leena has hurt his ego. He wanted to see his face in case if he finds that Leena is Elysian but that would never happen. He can never find her even if he comes to Newyork. Shaking his head, he went back to the bedroom picking up the letters along with him.
Leena was fast asleep in the bed but her position was 'decent' enough to impose dirty thoughts in Devin's mind. Her blanket was tossed aside, her arms and legs were spread apart. His senses went into a wanton to unlock her badly with his key. Only when Leena stirred and rolled to the other end, he was imported to this world and cleared his racy mind.
He walked towards the bed and pulled the blanket up to her chin. To sleep without any worry and vigilance in the presence of a man, meant a lot. She trusts him wholeheartedly. With a smile, he kissed her forehead and went back to the couch. Watching her peaceful face, he drifted to sleep.
...
Morning arrived, Leena woke up while Devin was still sleeping. She got fresh, cooked breakfast, and penned messages on the sticky notes, and glued them at the places where Devin could recognize with a single glance.
Due to exhaustion, Devin woke up late in the morning and he neither got a glimpse of Leena's Silhouette nor listened to her voice. He hastily checked all the rooms but he found her nowhere in the house. He instantly called one of the keepers and he was relieved when they informed him that she is in the office safe. When he went to the kitchen freshly showered, he saw notes glued everywhere, kitchen countertop, refrigerator, oven, the list went on.
[Reheat the breakfast dish if you want to eat]
[I am going to the office. You don't need to pick me. FY, I have my own car]
[Last but not least, I hate you for today]
"Madam has started a silent war?" He grumbled and ate the tofu chorizo she made which is his favorite dish. Even in anger, she made his favorites. He can't imagine she is throwing tantrums just because he didn't recognize her in their childhood photos.
"Challenge accepted, sweetheart. Let me see how many days you are going to continue this game."
....
Days passed and it was the weekend already. Leena made a plan to go shopping to buy dresses since she has to attend two events. One is her grandfather's birthday and the other is her dad's daughter's birthday.
It's been five days, Leena and Devin were conversing through those sticky notes and neither Devin nor Leena made a move to break the silence. Right now both were sitting opposite, each having a box of sticky notes next to them. It has become their means of communication.
"Are you ready, Leena?" Reese's scream echoed into the room followed by the person.
"Even neighbors have to brush their teeth and get dressed hearing your loud voice, Reese Allen," Leena yelled at her friend.
"Then I am doing productive work even today." Reese giggled and glanced at the notes. These two are still fighting? She cursed at herself for cultivating a crush on Devin. She never thought he would act so childish just like Leena. Her childhood crush was better than him. Remembering him, she sighed. It's not good to dwell in his thoughts when he already has someone in his heart.
"You are already late by an hour. Let's go." Leena got up and glanced at Devin and she instantly got furious that he is not even bothered that she is leaving for the whole day.
She grabbed Reese's hand and before she stepped out of the house, Leena heard his voice. She turned around but to her end, he did not even look at her. He was glancing at Reese.
"She gets cold easily. Don't let her drink the water outside." Devin spoke up and handed a water bottle to Reese.
"He has been eating late in the night for the past few days and spoiling his health. Tell him not to stay late in the office, Reese." Leena uttered without looking at him.
"It's her fault that I am coming late. Tell her clearly."
"He is the one_"
"Quit your bons mots." Reese interrupted in the middle getting vexed. "Don't bring me in the middle of your fights."
"I am sorry, Reese." Leena held her hand and went out of the room before giving one last glare.
Reese and Leena went to the buzzing shopping complex and for the whole day, both were engrossed buying the stuff. Leena arrived with the thought of buying two dresses but ended up with almost twenty. She never minds buying since she has a record of purchasing hundreds in one single day but she was only concerned about Devin. If he sees all this shopping stuff, he would definitely flare up in anger. Not that she is wasting money, but his only complaint was that he is not finding space to put his stuff in the closet.
"My stomach is rippling inside, Leena" Reese put a stop to Leena's thoughts. She clutched her stomach powerless to withstand the ache.
"I told you not to eat the fried foods," Leena said, with a concern filled voice. "Let's go to a pharmacy and get a pill."
"Let's go to the bathroom first," Inhaling a deep breath, she said.
Nodding her head, she scanned the washrooms and when she saw the board, she double-checked it before entering the bathroom not to let any disaster happen unlike before.
While waiting in the bathroom for Reese, Leena began playing games. Just then a tall skinny woman entered the room. The moment she entered and saw Leena, she froze, her legs rooted to the place. Leena was getting uncomfortable when she sensed someone was staring at her.
When she looked at the person, she was horrified by what she saw. Anger bubbled up and she bristled with fury. But she composed herself
"Shocked that I am standing or surprised to see me alive?" Leena's voice laced with wry humor as she watched the woman in front of her gape in horror. "Miss Alden?"
"Sorry. Casey Alden right?"
