Chapter 267 - No secrets, no lie

At her office, Leena ended a joint live Yoga session with one of the influential yoga practitioners, Riveria. She chatted with the woman for a while, and sending her off, Leena entered her office room. Her head brewed in pain, seeing Reese waiting for her. It's been almost two weeks, Reese is pestering about Drew's condition. ''Reese, you better confess your feelings to him.''

''If I had the courage, why would I ask your help?'' Reese yelled as she got up from the chair. ''I hate you, Leena.'' Reese left the room before cursing Leena. If she confessed her feelings to Andrew, Jasper would come flying to kill her.

''Then better stay single, dingo.'' At first, Leena thought to help Reese, but her mind changed after Andrew vomited everything to Devin that happened at the restaurant. The next day, Leena called him and gave left and right, but that milksop was all feigning innocence. No wonder Jasper didnot accept that sissy.

After the intense workout session, Leena got a fresh shower and walked out to talk with Devin for a while. Just when she entered the lawn around her office, Leena heard Mandy's voice. ''She doesn't have any work except prying on celebrities.'' As usual, Leena would ignore her, but her footsteps halted suddenly when she heard Regina's name. After Regina was sent to Mental Asylum, Leena didnot hear much about her. Curiosity piqued in Leena, and instead of calling Devin, she eavesdropped into the conversation.

At first, Leena thought either Regina would have gone to WD or that stupid queen Elinor Catherina putting up with her crocodile tears after getting released from the hospital. But listening to Mandy's conversation with the other person, her hands become icy cold. A sickening wave of terror welled up in her stomach. ''Regina was kidnapped and poisoned to paralyze her organs?'' Leena whispered, her heart in palpitations. There was only one person she could think of. ''No, he wouldn't do that. He doesn't go to such an extent, but what about Trent? His condition was worse than her.'' Leena called Devin's number, desperate to know if he has a hand in it. Leena didnot care if he was in the meeting or some urgent work, but she repeatedly called his number until he picked up.

''Did something happen, Leena? I had almost ten missed calls of yours in my inbox.'' Devin spoke up urgently and opened the laptop to check Leena's office's CCTV footage. His mobile was in silent mode during the meeting, and right when it ended, Devin picked up his mobile to call Leena, but panic and worry grew as he saw the number of missed calls from Leena.

''Can we meet up for lunch? I want to talk with you regarding one urgent matter. I will text you the restaurant name.''

''Sure. Bring Nick along with you_.''

''I can't bug him for all the silly matters. I will be careful.'' Leena assured him.

''No.'' Devin refused the idea instantly. ''Let me come to your office and then pick you up.''

''You are as stubborn as a mule, Devin,'' Leena added with a sigh. ''Fine. Come and pick me up.'' Leena doesn't want to talk about this matter with Nick.

Devin picked her at the office, and until they reached the restaurant, Leena didnot speak a word. The waiter served the food, but Leena didnot touch a single dish.

''What's bothering you, Leena?'' Stroking her cheek, Devin calmly asked.

''By any chance, did you do something to Regina?'' Carefully studying his facial expressions, Leena asked. To her surprise, his face was as calm as water.

''Why do you ask?'' Devin quizzed. The last time he heard about Regina was when he was in Maine. With the busy office schedule, he had not had the time to talk about that woman.

''I heard she was beaten and poisoned to paralyze her body organs. Was it your doing?'' Leena tapped her footstep, silently praying that Devin shouldn't have a hand on it. She doesn't want Devin to taint his hands with sin unnecessarily.

''You know that I am even scared to see a mosquito blood_.''

''Stop with your rant, Devin. Don't try to fool me anymore. I heard your exchanges with Kurt at Leah and Austin's wedding.'' Leena flared up at once. Did he think I am a kid to believe everything? Before, it was rat blood, and now he has shifted to mosquito.

Wordlessly Devin put on a broccoli piece into her plate. ''Are you scared of me, Sweetheart?'' He never wanted to show her the dark side of him, but Leena would know about him by coincidence or accident.

''If that were the case, I would have run away long before.'' With a smile that spread to her eyes, Leena held Devin's hand. ''I am not judging you, Devin. I understand you have to be equally ruthless in the business world, but I love it when you share everything with me. A true marriage relationship is when you can tell each other anything and everything, no secrets, no lie.''

Although Leena has a childish side to her character, her maturity reflects through her actions and decisions when needed. They are married for less than two months, but she is already acting like a thoughtful wife.

''I was responsible for Trent's state,'' Devin revealed, grazing her hand with his thumb. After listening to Leena, he wanted to get transparent with her.

''So, Regina also_.''

''No, Sweetheart. I have no hand in it. If I wished to torture her, I wouldn't have long abducted her when she tried to break us.''

Devin's words made sense to Leena. But who held animosity towards that woman? ''Then do you know who might have abducted her?''

''Let's not talk about her, Leena. We have already wasted an hour for her unnecessarily.'' Devin halted Leena's thoughts. He knew that the psycho is responsible for Regina's state, but it's not time to talk about him. Leena would spoil her health thinking about the matter.

''Alright.'' Leena nodded her head. Indeed, it's of no use to talk about that woman. Soon, the atmosphere eased with Leena's sweet talks. Forgetting the matter, both walked out of the restaurant.

Devin opened the car door, and as Leena was about to step into the car, she heard someone call from behind. ''Leena!''

A surprise was filled Leena's face as she turned around. ''Hi! Stella, what a pleasant surprise. How are you?''

''I am good. Long time, right?''

''Indeed. A very long time.'' Stella and Leah were very supportive friends while Wendy is a troublemaker enemy. Leena turned to Devin to introduce the woman. ''She is my friend, Stella. We have collaborated in many fashion shows.'' Turning to Stella, Leena introduced Devin. ''He is my husband_''

''Wang Devin,'' Stella added. ''Who doesn't know him?'' Stella looked at Devin and said with a smile. ''I have been your fan for a long time, sir.''

''Thank you.'' Devin smiled as a greeting gesture.

When Leena and Stella were conversing, a voice echoed into their ears.''Stella, what is taking you so long?''

Devin's gaze slowly shifted to the person behind Stella, and his face frowned upon seeing the man. 'Dr. Walter Adams! Didn't you take my warning seriously?'

Looking at Devin's grim expression, Walter knew Devin had misunderstood him again. 'He will indeed think I am a stalker now.'
