A large dark house nestled in the deepest part of the forest as if it has no connection to the human world. Nick only knew the name of the hospital Morvena worked as a doctor and thought her house location would be easy to find, but Hell no.
There are many interesting facts he learned about that woman. She rarely goes to the hospital and lives away from the city in a dense forest. Only one person who happens to be Morvena's colleague here knows her house address, and Nick has to catch him for the guide. They have to travel two hours by car, away from the city, and then walk on foot for half n hour into a creepy forest where sunlight is not questionable. On the safer side, Devin placed some of the guards by the car. If something happens, they can come and looks for them.
As they crossed the tall trees, they finally spotted two large houses. ''This is it, Sir. Allow me to go back to the city, please.'' The man said. Only once he visited this spooky house, and never he wanted to revisit it.
Nick readily agreed and signaled a guard to drop him at home. He understood why her colleague was so hesitant to become their guide. A woman living away from humans! What is she?
Nick noticed the house's front yard also looked spooky with gnarled, twisted trees. Suddenly he felt like he was transported to a witch world. What kind of environment is this woman living? Thank God! Leena is not here. She would have run away the moment she stepped into this dark forest.
Nick glanced at Devin, thinking he would comment on this place, but he seems to be in another world. Probably he is also in a state of astonishment. Nick thought to himself. Little did Nick know, an ill omen nettled Devin. The familiar hammering pain in his brain is surging back.
The voice that he hears whenever his memories strike him is whispering by following behind him, causing him to cringe in fear for the first time. Every footstep he took was with utmost thought.
A vaguely familiar feeling triggered solid emotional reactions of this place, reminding him of the previous negative experiences he faced. As he slowly walked, his eyes fell on a large rustic wooden slab. His body suddenly came to a halt. He was here once! Once sitting here and talking to himself, a vision of his past has flashed in front of his eyes.
[My brain hurts a lot! I have not slept for weeks]
[I am slowly losing my ability to recognize your face as well]
[I never thought this is how my journey towards you will come to an end. Will I be able to recognize you if we ever cross paths.]
Suddenly he was transported back to the world when he felt a slight tap on his shoulder. ''Devin, are you with me?'' Nick voiced his concern.
It was then Devin snapped back to reality. ''Yeah...I am here.....this place is a little.....I don't find a single reason to be here anymore'' With uncertainty, he said.
''I do feel_''
'' ' Zdràstvujte.'' A man with a large beard greeted the two in Russian. ''Zhdet Vas Madam Morvena.'' It said Madam Morvena is looking for them.
''Ummm..We don't know Russian.'' Using gestures, Nick began his neet skills which the bearded man failed to understand. ''I..him..'' Nick pointed his thumb at Devin as he explained. ''no..speak...Russian.''
''Zaberi as Vnutr' '' Interrupting Nick, Devin replied.
Nick was obviously shocked by Devin's surprising reply in Russian. ''How do you know Russian?''
''That's a question for another time.'' He told Nick and then addressed the bearded man and asked him to take them inside.
It's not only outside; the house inside looked creepy as well. The bearded man left them at the doorstep and headed back, although Nick shouted to stay with them. ''Even people around her are weird!''
The two alone walked through a dark corridor where they could see candles dangling from the top. A celestial crystal ball graven models were craved to the walls wherever their eyes followed. ''Is she a witch?'' Nick muttered under his breath.
As they both stepped in, a large blue-colored creature entered into Devin's and Nick's vision in the pitch-black room. ''Holy mother of Cow! Nick shuddered in fear as he saw a giant black-colored jelly-like creature in the form of multiple human vertebrae swaying, that almost resembled a twisted snake. The tip of the beast was almost touching the ceiling. A dread formed on Nick's face as its roots from the ground began moving towards them almost instantly. ''Devin...!'' Nick whispered, moving closer towards him. ''That thing..That thing..it's moving....''
''Don't panic. Throw all the electronic devices you have towards it. Now!'' At his command, Devin and Nick threw the mobile onto the ground and stepped back. The radicles of that creature swiftly spread like tree roots, and in seconds it s.u.c.k.e.d the mobiles. But still, the creature moved towards Nick. ''It's targeting me again!'' He cried, stepping back in panic.
''Check if you have any other electronic device,'' Devin shouted, and that's when it dawned on Nick that he is carrying earpods. With shaky hands, he searched the pockets and tightly closed his eyes as he threw them on the ground. He prayed for his dear life as he sensed the creature towering above him and stopped a step ahead of him. ''A_m I going to die here?''
''Drama king. Open your eyes. You are safe now.''
When Nick opened his eyes, the beast was already at the place positioned for it. ''What the fùck!'' Nick's voice almost reached the ceiling. ''Why is this creepy creature targeting only electronic devices.''
''It's not a creature. That's an electronic body. It is trying to grab the energy from every possible device.'' Devin looked around the house. No wonder there is no electronic device here. Even if there is one, this body will attract and convert into electric energy.
For the second time, Nick was flabbergasted. He has seen fantasy creatures in movies, but hearing and seeing an electronic body is his first time ''If it needs the energy in larger quantities. Where does this creature get such a large amount?''
.....
I know I know...I have transported you guys Into a different world today..It's not a story that I made up just now, it was thought when I began writing the story...there is no witchcraft or some fantasy elements in this book; whatever I write in this book, it's science, logical, and with a reason.. It's solely connected to Devin's memory....you can now think what exactly happened to him years back...
