I didnot give much thought to it when my wound healed in just hours which was supposed to take at least three days, considering the severity of the cut. But, I had to reconsider when the same girl saved me from another danger. A car almost hit me when I was crossing a road from a store, but she saved me coming out of nowhere. She was as quick as a Gazella, as fast as a racing cheetah. No. I had never seen something move with such a fantastic speed.
''Are you okay?'' She pulled me to the sidewalk area. With a panic look on her face, she examined my body for injuries.
''How did you know I am here? or have you been following me all the way?'' I demanded, jerking my hands off. ''How the hell you did that? Don't tell me you are something that I don't want to imagine?''
''I_I am not....I am sorry. I have to go.'' She ran off without explanation. I was glad she didnot show her supernatural abilities this time.
''Weird girl,'' I muttered, looking at her retreating figure.
A month later, she showed up in front of my school. With the burden I am shouldering already, she is turning into another headache. ''What's with you?''
''A coffee with you.'' She smiled, which irritated me more.
''You should know my answer by the look of revulsion on my face.'' Before I walked past her...
''I saved your life. Don't you owe me a favor?'' She asked.
I can't deny the fact. She saved me from the danger. It's just one coffee. I am not going to lose anything with one coffee. ''Alright.'' I agreed. ''Just once.''
''Thank you!'' She squealed.
I was sitting opposite her, wearing the most boring look on my face. I planned to sneak into Leena's school with Andrew to see the annual festival, but this girl is literally wasting hours of my precious time for one cup of coffee. I heard from Wilbur that Leena is playing detective Sherlock Holmes in a drama. It's one in millennia to miss such an opportunity. I offered Andrew a PlayStation, and he readily agreed without asking further questions.
''Can't you skip seeing the detective drama for today?'' Her question completely threw me out of my seat. How did she hear my inner thoughts? ''Who are you? Are you..are you a werewolf?''
''No.''
''A vampire? or a shapeshifter?''
'No. I am not.'' Morvena replied. ''Do you believe those creatures exist? They are myths.''
''I don't believe. But it looks like I have to now.'' My eyes keenly focused on her teeth, but I found no canines. Oh, no. I forgot the myths I read. The fangs and claws can be extended and retracted at their own will. Is she one among them? The thought of having a coffee with those creatures caused his body to cringe. ''How could you read my inner thoughts? How did you heal my injured wound?''
She lowered her head, her mouth shut from forcing the truth.
''Fine. It's not my concern anyway. Thanks for saving me.'' I got up from the chair. ''Don't show up in front of_''
''I am not any supernatural creature, you assumed.'' She lifted her head, and glanced at me, and pointed her eyes to the chair.
''Then?'' I went back to the chair.
''I was born with enhanced physical and mental abilities.''
''Sorry?''
''I know you think of me insane. But this is truth. Telepathy, time travel, psychokinesis, I can affect the physical system without physical interaction. My mind and body can travel at the speed of our thoughts.'' She explained.
''What the! So, you found me through the mind travelling ability?'' I concluded the bitter truth. ''I can't believe it. How did you get..'' I trailed off, the truth is yet to sink into my brain.
''My mother is a scientist. She sits in a lab for hours experimenting. By the time she realized she was pregnant, the harmful chemicals she swallowed affected the fetus badly. The fetus died in her womb.'' She continued. ''To bring back the fetus life, she consumed the drug she invented to give the energy, which in turn bring back the fetus to life. But my life came with a higher price.'' Morvena added.
'What's that?''
''Have you ever thought how much a human can use its brainpower?'' She questioned instead.
''Not sure. Probably ten to fifteen percent.''
''You are right. My brain cells are activated to the full extent after my mother consumed the drug. I was born with those abilities.'' Morvena closed her eyes. ''I can hear the sound of your blood flowing in your veins. I can see your stomach enzymes breaking down the food. I can see the number of cells dying in your body. I can hear someone falling from a bike, a little distance away. You just thought about sneaking into a school of the girl you like. Your friend is accompanying you. There is nothing that I cannot see, and there is nothing that I cannot hear.''
Nothing but my own heartbeat echoed into my ears. Is it a boon or a curse to be born with such ability? When I thought in my perspective, it's a curse. Who would be happy to hear people's thoughts all the time? ''How do you concentrate on other things with your ability? or even..can you sleep at least?''
''It's hard. But I learned to control with my mother's help. Unless I wanted to, I don't listen to anybody's thoughts intently.''
''Aren't you scared that I would reveal your truth to the world?''
''I know you don't.'' She smiled. ''I read your inner thoughts already. Honestly, it's only our second meeting, but I felt like telling my secret. You are the only person I shared my secret with.''
''Your secret is safe with me.'' I smiled in response. I thought she was a stalker, but she is not that bad. She is just born with a rare ability.

If you are aware of Yogi Sadguru, probably Indian might have heard his name. A modern day mystic, and visionary. For more, refer google or YouTube. I watched a video of him enlightening the brain's capacity. Humans use only 5 to 10 percent of brain. If it used at maximum capacity, no supernatural being can outsmart it. I designed Morvena's character based on this theory. Movie Lucy is based on this theory.
