Chapter 455 - What’s Going On?

Cali kept staring at her grandfather and nanny Shine for a long time while eating.

"Dear why are you not eating?" Mr. Lua asked, noticing Cali had not touched her food yet.

Cali smiled and said, "Oh, seeing you both eating heartily makes me feel full already. Grandpa, how about we all go for a vacation?"

"Oh, yes, that would be really nice." Mr. Lua commented with a smile. Cali put more dishes on their plates as she commented, "Come to think of it. I've been a negligent granddaughter towards both of you. I haven't even served you like this before…"

Nanny Shine's forehead furrowed, and she exchanged a meaningful glance with Mr. Lua. Both of them felt something weird was going on with Cali so Mr. Lua asked, "Cali is there something wrong?"

Cali smiled and shook her head as she began eating her food.

After dinner, Cali went home with them. She was already in her room when Rui called.

"Are you home already?" Rui asked from the other line.

"Yes. Why? Do you miss me?" Cali teased. Her eyes were starting to well up again with the tears that had stubbornly built up inside it. Her heart ached so much.

"Yes… Badly. I'm actually standing outside your home. Do you think you can spare me some minutes from your tight schedule and allow me to see you just for a while before I go to sleep?" She heard Rui asked.

Cali's tears started to swim in her eyes. There was silence for a while and she heard Rui ask, "Cali? Are you still there?"

"Do you want to sleep in my room?" Cali said in a little stuttering voice, because she was controlling her sobbing. She heard Rui laugh before responding, "I would love that Cali…"

"Sorry Rui… but lets stay away for tonight. I also wish to see you as well, but I'm actually not feeling well. How about we meet tomorrow? I will definitely see you tomorrow once I feel better." Cali said in a little cracking voice. She was not ready to face Rui because tonight she felt like sobbing till she fell asleep.

She was not sure about her plan of things with regards to Rui. Would it be right if she told him the truth or not?

"Alright, you rest now sweetheart and I'll see you tomorrow." she heard Rui breath dejectedly.

"Sorry Rui. Please be home safely. Goodnight." Cali said before ending the call. As soon as the call ended, Cali cried her heart out.

She wanted to be in his arms right then, but didn't want to hurt him by telling her plight. She knew she could get solace with him around, but would he not be worried sick if he knew she was unwell? How would he live if something happened to her, and what if she died… Would he be broken if she died? Would he meet someone again to look after him and feel happy ever again?

Her thoughts were filled only with Rui and how gradually and step by step she had made a place in his heart and his life. How broken his heart was and how lonely his life had been before her. She didnt want him to have such a life again. She wanted to live… live for her grandfather and most importantly for the love of her life… for Rui...

Rui, inside his car, bit his lips and put his hand in his pocket and brought out a small box from it. He smiled contentedly as he opened it.

He was planning to confess and propose his feelings to Cali as soon as possible, but he

wanted to make everything romantic and perfect. He remembered how Cali pursued him and made efforts to soften his heart for their relationship, how he rejected his own feelings for her and hurt her by keeping distant.

But finally, she was able to win him over, and all his guards failed against her. Today, he was head over heels in love with her and couldn't live a single day without her. He had developed deep feelings for her and finally he had decided to confess to his little girlfriend.

Initially, he was planning to do it in his house with a candlelight dinner but he felt like it was too cliche so he was actually busy in thinking how to make it more unique. He still had a few things with him that he wanted to use for a confession that night, but since Cali had denied coming out, he was a little upset because his plans were foiled.

"She seemed fine this morning," Rui mumbled. He was missing Cali dearly since he did not see her after he left her this morning.

He glanced at the back seat where he put the flowers, cake and chocolates that he brought for Cali. A grin appeared on his inspired face as he dialed nanny Shine's number.

Rui was already at Mr. Lua's doorsteps when nanny Shine opened the door for him.

"Ohh…" nanny Shine gasped happily seeing the beautiful flowers Rui bought for Cali.

"Oh, that's really sweet of you Rui. Go now in her room… She will be so happy and surprised to see you." Nanny Shine excitedly mumbled and almost pushed Rui to proceed to Cali's room.

Rui smiled while he walked towards Cali's room. He slowly opened the doorknob and quietly entered. But his heart raced hearing the sobbing sound coming from Cali, so he hurriedly walked towards her bedroom.

He saw Cali on her bed, crouching, hugging her bended knees as he heard her cry. He ran to her side, kept everything in his hands on the side table and sat down on the side of the bed and asked, "Cali, what's going on?" Rui whispered. He was so worried.

Cali lifted her head up and was in great horror seeing Rui in front of her.

"Rui? What are you doing here?" Cali whispered, still in shock.Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #%!d(string=14191303206660205)/what%E2%80%99s-going-on_%!d(string=46497333227086598) for visiting.
