Cali knew she was being redundant about it already, but she still included it during her vows, "My heart would never forget you and it would always be yours forever."
She was crying hard and Rui cupped her face, gently caressing her cheeks and wiping her tears away.
"Cali Lua, no matter what comes our way, I will stand beside you always and never leave. Through thick and thin, for richer and for poorer, till death do us part… I love you dearly, sweetheart, more than you have ever known. Thank you for making me the happiest man alive in this world by marrying me." Rui stutteringly voiced out while his eyes also flooded with tears like Cali.
The ceremony went so well, and everyone among the few selected guests saw how the couple lovingly exchanged their vows.
"Shine… My baby girl is now a grown-up lady and will soon have her own family. She's too nice… Why can't it just be me who takes all the suffering and not her?" Grandpa Lua pleaded.
"Be strong please for Cali. We should not show her we are broken. Let her see how we are handling everything strongly for her as her pillar," Nanny Shine encouraged and comforted grandpa Lua.
Grandpa Lua understood her reasons and tried to control himself from shedding more tears.
"I pronounce you husband and wife." The preacher finally said and Rui lovingly took his wife for a swift passionate kiss.
Shane, who was with Josh, hugged Cali tightly after the ceremony. She was already aware of Cali's situation and cried all night. That day, she only had smiles all over her face to show Cali how happy she was for her friend and blood sister.
"Congratulations sis. I'm really happy for you, sis." She mumbled and gently caressed Cali's back. She really tried hard to control it, but the tears still fell from her eyes.
"Sis, I'm always here for you. Me and Josh will stay here at the Capital City and wait for you after your surgery, so please fight and be strong." Shane muttered in a cracked voice.
Cali gently nuzzled her friend to look at her face and said with pouty lips, "Stop crying then and once I recover… We will have a group date with our husbands."
Shane nodded and wiped her tears.
Dion and Rizie who were also there came forward and congratulated the newly wed.
"Cali, you look so beautiful and congratulations." Rizie muttered and hugged Cali.
Dion heaved a long sigh before greeting the newlywed. Cali's surgery was scheduled the next day. His sister Yera would fly from Plumeria to Yang Globals in a private helicopter tomorrow early morning to perform the surgery as the head surgeon with him as her assistant.
He was sympathizing with Rui, who looked so happy while thanking everyone who shared that special moment with him.
The couple and the guests directly went into a private restaurant reserved by Rui to share lunch together.
After eating lunch, Rui once again thanked everyone and bid farewell as well to take off first with Cali.
"We have limited time, but I want to take you to a nice place for a honeymoon." Rui helplessly muttered while he took Cali in his house to rest and prepare for her operation the next day.
"There's no nicer place for me Rui than in your arms," Cali bashfully murmured. Rui hugged her tightly, hoping he could stop the time at that moment.

At Plumeria Island, Yera prepared to leave. Rui, who was more like a brother to her husband, must be so brokenhearted. So she had set her mind and body for the surgery to save Cali no matter what.
Her mobile phone rang and it was Xander. "Darling, are you sure about this?" He asked. The news about Cali already reached him.
"Yes, darling… I can save Cali. Don't worry I'm well fit to travel. I know my body… earlier when I had to operate on you, it was hard because I was mentally and emotionally distressed because it was you I needed to save that time." Yera reassured Xander who understood her well.
"By the way, how's everything there?" Yera asked and Xander informed her the next trial would be in two days.
"Hang in there. Everything will finish soon," Yera encouraged.
"I miss you and our babies. Please make sure you will not exert yourself too much in the operating room," Xander still reminded. It was for Rui, so he allowed his wife to do the surgery herself.
"Don't worry, Dion has my back well plus Dr. Gong is there as well. Your wife will do her best to save the love of your brother." Yera answered with a smile.
"Alright darling. Zach would keep you safe in terms of security. I have to end the call now, darling… I love you so much." Xander breathed.
"I love you too…" Yera responded before the call ended.
While waiting for Zach and the team, Yera once again looked at Cali's result. She heaved a long sigh, grateful that her husband's head injury did not have any complications. She felt bad for Cali though, that she had to go through another complicated surgery.
Yera gently caressed her tummy and murmured, "Babies, you cheer mommy later, okay? Give me enough strength to save your aunt Cali."
Yera heard knockings on the door, and it was mom Liz.
"Are you set?" Mom Liz asked, and Yera nodded.
"You father was worried so we will come along with you dear." Mom Liz informed.
"But I will return soon mom Liz…"
"Yeah, but you see how protective he is of your condition that he even talks to Dion to make sure you will not overexert yourself inside the OR." Mom Liz narrated. She even copied her father's tone that made Yera chuckled.
Her father-in-law was so strict who kept on reminding her what to do and not to do. He was like an alarm clock for Yera. Also, he was very watchful on her diet.Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #%!d(string=14191303206660205)/in-your-arms_%!d(string=46707970234441921) for visiting.
"Alright then, you guys tag along…" Yera responded with a wink.
