Curing Sylvy (1)

When the Duke returned after his visit from the king, he immediately went to the Moon Palace.

He was a little bit shocked when he was welcomed to see Louise and an adorable child sitting beside her.

Today Louise removed her veil since she was meeting the Duke. She looked at him and lightly smile.

"Father, you're back. This is Heron, she is my assistant." she introduced.

The Duke nodded and sat across from her.

"How have you been? I know that you will not cause trouble so I will not ask you about it."

"Of course, I will not cause trouble but someone from your household did."

Duke Gerald paused and looked at her.

"You're second wife was really curious about me. Oh and she is also generous to brought me a gift.", she said it with sarcasm.

Louise motioned Heron and the little girl placed the wine on the table.

"This is..wine?"

"It's wine yes, a poisonous wine that is."

Louise doesn't need to explain it. The Duke was intelligent enough to deduce the rest of the details. He silently clench his fist but suddenly paused.

"Is there any casualties?" he asked.

"Of course not. I look fine don't I?"

"No not you. I'm asking about them."

Louise rolled her eyes.

"I did not hurt them of course. I'm not like your second who would kill someone if they are on the way. Anyways."

She flashed the recording device she got from Madam Garcy to the Duke and played the scene vividly in front him. She put it back after.

"My apologies for what she did." The Duke slightly bowed.

Louise casually waved her hands.

"No need. I got my compensation so you can deal with her in your own way. By the way, why did you came here for?"

"Oh that, there was an invitation from my old friend to attend his birthday banquet, just that it's in another kingdom."

"You mean the king of the kingdom of Dusk." Louise stated.

Duke Gerald was seemingly used to her knowing it all stance and not even surprised that she knows about it.

"He's inviting all of us but I declined for my daughter Sylvy and for you."

Louise raised her brows.

"Why not?"

"Eh? I thought that you would decline. You don't like to be with too much crowd."

"No, Not me but your daughter Sylvy can go. I know that you decline for her because of her health but didn't I promised you that I would cure her."

"Oh that. Yes you did."

"I'll visit her later during the night."

"Thank you very much."

"And, I do hope that the thing about your second wife will not happen again. I'm not too lenient to let it pass for the second time." there was a hint of warning on her tone.

"It will not. I'll take care of it."
