27 I Am The Law Here

Madam Garcy stayed at her courtyard in the past couple of days after the incident happened. It's also been awhile since the Duke returned to the household. She was expecting that he will barge in to her courtyard and punish her but none of it happened.

She was quite scared in the past few days. She understood that the girl in the Moon Palace was also a Mage. She has an unexplained aura that will make everyone shudder. She also suffered her own share of nightmares about her. Though she wasn't able to see her face since it was covered by a veil.

Still, she felt that the Duke still valued her since he did not move against her. She already told her servants who were with her during that time to keep it a secret from everyone. Her son and daughterkeep on asking about her well being but she assured them that she was fine.

She stood up from her chair and walk towards the door. She was planning to visit the Duke and report of what she found. She doubt that the Duke knows about it. She will make sure that the girl will be kick out of this household.

At the Duke's study.

Duke Gerald was currently reviewing some of the documents stack on his table. He was holding his quill and about to write something when he heard one of his servant announced and informed that Madam Garcy would like to have an audience.

"Let her in."

Madam Garcy then entered his study room and faced him. He look at her waiting for her to said her piece.

"My Lord, you don't know what you brought in this household."

Gerald raised his brow and waited for her to continue.

"The girl that you brought in this household is dangerous. I went to visit her with my good intention but that girl..that girl." she sighed. "I don't know where did you pick her up but as your wife, I am concerned about the well-beings of everyone here. My Lord, I may suggest that you sent her out right away."

Duke Gerald placed his quill on the table.

"You visited her? But as far as I remember I "specifically" mentioned that everyone with me as an exception is allowed to visit the Moon Palace."

Garcy flinch but still maintained her composure.

"My Lord, I am part of this household. I am your wife. Shouldn't I be concerned of the things going around."

Gerald look at her with indifference.

"Indeed, you are my wife, my second wife. I am the head of this household. Whatever Imy say is the law here. Are you telling me that my words are just an air now. As far as I know I give the right to manage the household to Sophia not to anyone else."

Gerald stated this facts to Garcy without showing any consideration. Garcy stiffened upon hearing it and her eyes turned red. She choked back all of the words that she wanted to say. The Duke was almost telling her that she is only his second wife and nothing else.

She thought that it was almost done but Duke Gerald added some more.

"Don't think that I don't know what you did. I 'm already being lenient for not punishing you." He waved his hand "You can go now."

Garcy was silent for a while before she turn around to leave.

"And.."Duke Gerald added. "Whatever you saw in that place, forget all about it and pretend that you never saw anything. If there were some slipped of words, don't blame me for being merciless. This is my last warning."
