Chapter 18: The Reunion

Dylan Windell's POV

I was smiling from ear to ear as I heard what Lucia thought about my research. I think Daisy will not have any chance to make her father's theory to get through the peer review. But I might be too far fetched if I wanted to get ahead of her.

I was making my way out of the lab after all the things that I was able to do today. Without any distraction since Daisy was busy with her labs and I have been avoiding her since. I think she knows it but she ignored it.

I was whistling before a beep was coming from my phone. I turned to look at it and it was from Uncle Sam.

'Dinner at my house tonight. Cameron was going to introduce us to someone,' it stated as I was amused by the content.

Does Cam have a girlfriend? Does that icy man have a woman that got attached to him? Now that's something that I don't hear every day. I texted him back saying that I will be there to know if this is true or not.

I was looking at the phone as I was making my way to Max's office. I knocked on the door before he asked me to come in. I opened the door and I saw that my sister-in-law, Carol, was making her clothes looked presentable.

"Jeez, if you don't want to have it at home, please refrain it from doing it in your office, brother," I said as I was looking disapprovingly at Max before Carol laughed.

"It's alright, Dylan. I think your brother behaves today," she said before she winked and exited the room. I turned to look at my brother who was raking his hands in his hair.

'Pregnant?' I asked him as I was showing my hand to my stomach. Max laughed before he nodded.

"Yup, 2 weeks. I think I might die from all the stamina that she had these days," Max said as I was looking at him. I scowled before I was sitting on the chair in front of the desk.

"So, what do I owe the pleasure of the visit from my busy brother?" He said as he was taking some swig from his water bottle. I would be thirsty if I was to be having all that energy to go to my wife just now.

But lucky for me, I don't have one.

Yet.

I was clearing my throat before I was looking at Max before I was leaning closer to him.

"Do you get any text from Uncle?" I asked him before he went to check his phone. He opened it and frowned.

"Well, I just read it. Does Cam have a girl? Now that's something that I don't hear every day," he said as I was nodding at him.

"Right? I was so shocked that I told Uncle Sam that I will be there to make sure that he was bringing her or maybe a mannequin that he picked up somewhere," I said before Max was laughing at me.

"Whatever you say, brother. So what is the reason for you stopping by here again?" He asked me as I was rolling my eyes at him.

"Come on. Don't you want to see Cam brings this chick? I think I might laugh at him in the back if he was bluffing," I said as I was smiling at my brother. But Max was shaking his head. I guess I will be alone tonight.

"Can't. I have promised Carol that we will be dining out for our celebration of the baby news. Why don't you tell Uncle that I will be very busy keeping my wife happy and that we will have this baby?" Max said as I was sighing.

"You know, you're a shit load for a big brother,"

"I know, that's why I am the big brother and you're the little one," he said before he was ruffling my hair. I swapped his hand away before I was out of the room as I took his car and Max will be going with Carol's car tonight.

I don't even know why they have separate cars when they can just come here together.

I think they wanted to avoid the circulation of gossip at first but then, they just did not care.

I shrugged before I was looking at the car keys before I was moving to the parking lot and sped off from the parking lot to my Uncle's house.

The Hayes and the Windell have been cousins for centuries. It started back when our great-grandparents married and we were the wielder of the fire and wind. I was on the Wind side and Cam was on the fireside.

I think I would love to know how Seattle has changed him and how he was doing as a TA of Volcanology classes. I was being greeted by the butler before a valet was taking the car keys and he went to park it in the garage.

I walked to the entrance as I was looking at the familiar door and it opened. Aunty Mia was smiling while Uncle Sam was nodding at me.

"Uncle, Aunt. How are you?" I hugged them as I was kissing Aunt's cheeks. She was smiling before I was looking for Cam.

"He's not here yet. He went to get his woman," Uncle said as I was smirking at him. I nodded before we went to the living room. A few moments later after a cup of tea and biscuits, I heard some commotion outside that young master Cam has indeed arrived with a young woman.

"I thought I never heard this one ever," I mumbled before I was looking outside the window and Cam was assisting the young woman before they were walking toward the door.

I was waiting for Uncle and Aunt to get to know the couple as they went out of the room. I was looking at the window before I was looking at the sky. It was beautiful with the moon shone in its full glory. I smiled before someone was coming into the living room.

"Urgh, I hate being here," Sabrina said as she was coming into the living room. I don't think she noticed that I was in the room.

"If you hate it, then why come at all?" I asked her before her hands were on her chest.

"Jesus! Don't scare me like that, Dylan," she said as I was smirking at her. She frowned before she was taking her seat.

"So, Cam has someone, huh? That's new," I said before I went to the bar and poured some brandy for me and Sabrina. I think she needs the liquor more than I do. But it could not be hurt for me to enjoy it as well.

"I know. It was amazing. I wonder how long it will last though," Sabrina said as she was sipping the wine in one go before she stood up.

"Shall we make a hell out of him?" She said before I sipped on the wine and sat in the living hall with her.

"It would be my pleasure," I said as we were making some plans for us to get Cameron jealous.

We were in the dining hall before Aunt Mia announced that Cam and his woman were here.

"Okay, everyone. Cam's finally here. And he brought a guess," Aunt Mia said as I was smirking at Cam who was being glared by the woman that he brought a guest.

"Finally, we can eat," I said as I was making my presence known to Cam. He closed his eyes before Sabrina greeted him outside the room.

"Oh, I see that you brought someone, big brother," she said as she was hugging Cam before he said something.

Uncle Sam was coming toward me as I was lounging on the sofa. I wonder what he wanted to say to me.

"I wonder when was the day that you will be bringing your woman to this house to introduce to me," Uncle said as he was smirking at me. I rolled my eyes at him.

Never!

"I don't think it was time for me to think about that, Uncle. Besides, I have to finish my study first," I said as I was shrugging at him.

"Of course," he replied before Aunt Mia called on us.

"Now, shall we head out to the dining hall then?" She said as I was getting up from the sofa. I saw Cam's grandma's necklace on the woman's neck.

Oh, I think he's serious now.

"Please, I'm starving," I said as I was looking at Cam. He rolled his eyes at me.

"You always hungry,"

"That, cousin, is the truth. Besides, I miss my aunt's cooking," I said as I was winking at Sabrina and Cameron. He was amused with me as much as Sabrina was as we were making our way to the dining hall.
